ORA LOur initial pick up location was at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio. We received a confirmation notice that there would be a 26' truck would be available for pickup on August 20 at 7:30 am. When we arrived, the person checking us in informed us that she had that information, but there was not a 26' truck available at that location. She contacted someone who was able to locate a truck for us at the Eckhert location. The person was on speaker phone and she directed the San Pedro employee to inform us that there would be a deduction of $150.00 due to there not being a truck available as had been confirmed. After hanging up, the San Pedro employee reiterated the address and the fact that there would be a $150.00 deduction. Going to the Eckhert Rd location set our schedule back by an hour since it meant driving during rush hour traffic, then to our home where we had scheduled movers. When we got to the Eckhert location and the bill was stated, I asked if it included the $150.00 deduction. We were told very curtly that amount was not possible, asked who had given that information and when we told him, he stated that he would only give a $50 deduction. It felt very much like he didn't believe us. Needless to say, in the midst of the stress of moving, this was an awful way to start the day, first to not have a promised vehicle at the first location, then to be treated so disrespectfully at the second place. How to improve this?: 1)Make sure there is availability of a vehicle, and if not, be informed before the pickup time so arrangements can be made in a timely manner, and 2) UHaul should have communicated the information regarding the deduction directly from one UHaul location to the other instead of us being the messengers, then not being believed and the deduction amount not being honored.

NICHOLE REvery part of my experience either met or exceeded my expectations! Process was easy and I greatly appreciate the 1 month free storage because I needed extra time to sort through my belongings post move.
CRYSTAL N | First ImpressionsMost uhual locations have the door open for customers to view the interior of the back of the uhual. When I had pulled up they was all closed. I switch my dolly from a appliance dolly to a $7 dolly for my mama sake and the CSR said their was one aready in truck failing to double check their wasnt one in there. I left from eckhert road(NW) to go to s. Acme rd(W) in that uhual until I park and open the rear door and their was no dolly. I had to drive back in a personal vehicle to retrieve it. I was unsure how long I was gonna need the uhual as I had a move on Thursday for my mama and then I had to move my family as well on Friday. I did not have no addtl funds for movers so I was pretty much alone on Friday until that evening but on Thursday my mama neighbor assisted her. If they had a tracking device they could have noticed my wear abouts but instead I felt that I was being rush and pushed to turn in that truck. Hell it wasnt stolen ive driven a uhual nunerous of occassions. I had the funds to pay but this location and all the other locations needs to put trust in their local residents when it's 100 miles or less. Better yet yall should implement a Star rating on yalls customers that returns that way yall know who to trust and who not to. The star rating can range from a 1 star to a 3 star. 1 star will make it hard on a customer to rent if they had any demerits like accidents,etc. And 3 star is for those who have a good driving record with no accidents. Just something to think about. I normally take my business to grissom rd but I'll look elsewhere from here on out because if another company was to make their way to san antonio I would quickly ditch going to uhual and go to the new company in a heartbeat.

RUBEN VEmployee tended to my needs in a timely fashion. He was courteous when providing me with a storage unit. The following day I picked up a U-Haul van. The young lady was courteous and helpful. I would recommend this location to family and friends. Thank you.

DEAREK GCheck the accuracy of the fuel in the truck. My paperwork showed 1/2 a tank of fuel but when I drove out of the parking lot it was on empty but they expected me to bring it back with 1/2 a tank of fuel.
ROBERT DThe only thing I wish were cleaner about the van we rented is the windshield. Other than that, the checkout process was easy the van ran well. One suggestion about the "after-hours, self-validating return": Change part of the sequence. First, the app asks for a picture of the dash to confirm mileage and fuel. Then it asks whether the vehicle is in good shape and ready for the next customer. Then it asks for payment information. I thought we were done, so I locked the van and I returned the keys in the door slot..... before knowing that I was going to have to take pictures of the inside! I say, make payment LAST, or make it VERY OBVIOUS that pictures will need to be taken at the end!
Andrea QI’ve rented from U-Haul several times and this has by far been my favorite location used yet. Kudos to this team! Everyone we encountered has been consistent in their customer service ! That’s a direct reflection on the owners/ and management. Thank you so much for your kindness and supportive words and encouragement! Moving is a heavy and hot chore, but thier consistency in attitude even at the end of the day makes me feel appreciated, we’re not just another customer!

Mustafa AMy poor experience was woth the app and the browser. It took an extra 2 hours to pick up the truck in the morning and an extra 1.5 hours to drop it off. The codes don't work, the photo software is terrible. It could not be less user friendly.

Rodney SNot very friendly at drop-off. i mentioned the issue with gas tank; felt ignored. I asked for a receipt for check-in; was told it would be e-mailed, but never received one. Had to call customer service, who provided a receipt immediately. Not a great check-in experience after spending $400 on a rental.

Gabriel VThe trailer had a terrible vibration. When I got it loaded and got on the highway, the trailer vibrated so bad it shoook the whole truck. After a while I realized I could never tow it all the way to California. So I located a dealer in a small town about 175 miles into my trip. They said one tire had a bubble and the other had a flat spot. They replaced both tires and after that the trailer pulled like a dream.

Alex RThis was the second place I had to go because the first uhaul place where I had my reservation at didn’t have a truck ready for me when I arrived. The guy at the desk said he was going to make a phone call to see where the truck was and never talked to me again. I had to call your customer service line to get another truck. Then they sent me here and everything went smooth picking up and dropping off. The store on Grissom road sucks!!! I will go there again.

Robert PGreat service from the staff. The trailer looked good and everything seemed to operate correctly, but the trailer electrical harness was damaged (bare wires). When it rained it shorted out the system including shorting our my vehicle side of the harness. I didn't know my vehicles electrical system was damaged until I check it the day after turning in the trailer.

Management was not helpful at all and actually left the scene before police arrived, leaving rest of staff to restore our units. I called corporate to complain and the complaint trickled down to Martin Alcala, the manager of my location. Martin then called me personally to confront me about my complaint which ended in a screaming match over the phone. I will never rent with y’all again. Not even trucks.

People piggybacking on entry and several instances of attempted vehicle theft and parts stolen from two boats I had stored there. I probably would not store anything of value again, at least outside.

I was called back by a woman who did suggest I try the site again. She told me I would be sent a link. I did receive a link and it worked. Whoever she was, gets a star. That man, no.
Aaron F | Online Move InNo issues with security or cleanliness. I would have liked the unit to be more well lit. I had to keep a flashlight with me. The hours are absolutely not convenient. You should offer 24 hour access period without having to request it. Especially with what I was paying. I live in a different city and work full time, so there end up being only a few days when I can really ever make it down to load/unload things. I don't get to pause the cost when I don't have access to storage, so you shouldn't be pausing my ability to access my things whenever I want. It's part of why I just finally cleaned them out and moved them closer. It was too hard to keep making the time to go down with my new job. Also I think you advertise the temperature controlled at between 75 and 85 or something like that? Whatever the advertisement was, you basically never get below the upper bound there, so even though my items didn't suffer or anything, when I have a lot of heavy lifting to do I basically roast to death. You should update that "air conditioning system" (quotes intentional). Also I really hate that not only is there a ledge on the way into the storage halls but that the door doesnt stay open. Do you know what a nighmare it is to try and get big heavy stuff inside while you're trying to manage a door AND navigate your bed or arm chair or something over a ledge with no dolly? I have to turn into the hulk. So yeah I really think you need to put an incline there or have a way to have it open for a minute or two. No one's gonna break in and steal things while I'm wrestling a couch through it, you know? Anyway aside from that. Your staff people are good. They're usually pretty nice and helped me replace my worn out swipe card once and stuff and checkout was fast and painless.
