ANGELO SI was extremely pleased with ALL of the service. I needed to move 60 bankers boxes (about 1700 lbs) of historical archive materials from New Jersey to CA. I had contacted PODS and given a price of $4400, which my non-profit turned down right away. I thought about renting a U-Haul van, but Rick at Hopewell Sinclair, a U-Haul Contractor in Pennington/Hopewell Township, NJ recommended a U-Box. It was perfect, and our benefactor enjoyed the reasonable price. The drop-off and pickup in New Jersey went well, and they were actually earlier than planned. I didn't need any of the furniture pads, so I used them for buffer. I was surprised at how fast the box came across the country, and I arranged delivery earlier than planned. The driver with the forklift had the box in my driveway very quickly, an amazing setup. I would recommend the U-Box system to my friends and any organization who need something to move things. The price was worthwhile, and the service was amazing and ahead of schedule!

Aravind KIf you publish this, I do not want my name published with it. I decided how many U-Boxes I needed, not U-Haul. As I did not visit the Edison site, I have no comment. The U-Box had apparently been repaired multiple times. The metal loop (staple) was affixed with *round* head screws, not *flat* head screws. That really cut down on the size of the padlock shackle that could be inserted through the loop. I had to go buy a smaller padlock with a much thinner shackle, and even then, I was barely able to attach the lock. As for arriving safely, the U-box arrived with the hasp broken off the door! The door was basically unlocked on arrival! But everything was there, untouched. I assume when the U-Box entered CA it was inspected for fruit flies or whatever, and the inspector crow barred open the door by prying the hasp off the door. You folks should have notified me to buy a TSA style lock so that it could be opened and re-locked by the inspectors. All personnel I interacted with were professional, courteous, and helpful. The U-Box arrived (for both loading and unloading) on time and placed where requested.

Venkat IAlways a great experience at this location. However, I had issues with my reservation. I had to change my pickup date. I did this online, but the pickup changed to another location far from my home, with no notice. When I realized this, I called to get it straightened out. The person assisting me was very helpful and I switched to a larger trailer that I was told was available at the original Edison NJ location, with a ramp(needed this) for the duration I needed. When I went to pick it up, somehow I was switched to a trailer without a ramp, again with no notice, which made loading my motorcycles impossible. I had to make a set of ramps up last minute, which was extremely inconvenient and added extra stress to the whole process. You really need to notify customers of any changes like this.

ROBERT KMy headboard and other parts of my bed are completely ruined with stains from metal being shoved up against it. The top of the U-Box leaked and when the metal got wet, it left rust stains all over it. I’m going to have to get rid of it and buy a new one.

LUIS AThe U-Haul I received was in bad condition. The front light kept coming out. The tire pressure was low and I had to keep refilling it. I called and asked for assistance and I ended up having to bring the U-Haul back. and also the workers at this location seem irritated and frustrated with customers.

Paid for an extra hour and the customer service representative at the counter did not care and did not try to accommodate that I lost an hour she insisted that I need to bring the vehicle back and cannot extend my time.
CHANLOVE FMy U-Haul experience was terrible. When I arrived to pick it up, the truck that was assigned to me would not open. There were no employees at the location to help, and no one answered the phone. After over an hour on the phone with customer service, I was sent to a second U-Haul location 30 minutes away to get a different truck. After completing all the required documentation and taking pictures of the truck, I realized that the brake lights were not working. I therefore had to complete that process all over again with a third truck. In total, this caused a 3-hour delay for my move.

MIGUEL SInitially when I input the vehicle I wanted to tow the trailer with i got a message that said verified vehicle but it would not allow me to reserve/get rates. I only found out a few weeks later after talking with a employee that I learned the 2007 Ford Explorer was not approved. It would have been nice to know that earlier. Better yet, it would be nice to have been able to use it as I believe your reasoning for not being able is pretty ridiculous.
CHARLES DThe storage facility setup was not ideal for heavy loads or for a person with disabilities. It was not set up for safety. I would never place my items in your storage facility. In addition, the U-Haul agent was able to see my passcode. Not ideal at all! Terrible!

brenda w | Overall ExperienceI've had a storage unit at the Edison, NJ facility since 11/15/2009. The contract number on the original sales invoice is 00344918. The contract number noted on the latest invoice is 817076-00000657. The rental fee for the unit at that time was $70.80. My current rate is $140.18. I received a notice that the rental fee is increasing again to approx. $156.00+. There have been rental increases every 6 months of approx. 10%+. This is unacceptable to me. I get the same boilerplate e-mail every time of what services they facility is providing, nothing has changed at the facility. The manager at the facility blames corporate for the increases. They have priced themself out of my doing business with U-Haul. I have found another storage facility in the area that is larger, cheaper, cleaner and more appreciative of my business.
