When I first reserved the truck I was told I could keep it for 24-hours (by rep at location). When I went to pick up the truck I was told I could only keep it for 10 hours. I picked up the truck at 8:13 am and was told to have it back by 5:00 pm, which is NOT 10-hours, or id be charged $55 additional. This was the manager of the location (who happened to be rude in his manner). After I had the truck I called and asked about the moving pads I rented ~ 1) I was NOT informed there would be moving pads already on truck I could rent so I was coerced into that unnecessary rental expense and 2) I didn’t end up using ANY pads (either the ones already on the truck or the ones I rented) but was still charged as if I used them. When I asked about that I was told that since they were already on the truck I’d be charged anyway even if they were not used / still sealed / unopened.

Anyone moving knows it's a stressful process. The staff at this location were accommodating and willing to lend their expertise. I was looking for temporary storage of just a portion of my belongings and felt unsure if I had made the right choices. They were both light hearted and helpful.

We had difficulty finding which truck we were to use. The man at desk was very little help. We finally figured that the numbers on the key were at the top rear area of the box. The15 ft. truck drove and rode comfortably.

Please make sure that the call center, informs the customer that if they are paying in cash that there will be an additional charge for cash customers that will be refunded when they drop off the vehicle.

Clearance lights are in need of repair. The left front ones didn't work when I picked it up, the upper right one started to act up during my use. I believe it to be a grounding issue.

Check engine light came on as soon as I started the truck. Someone came out and checked it and shut it off. I was told that if I return the truck after hours I could use my phone to return it. So when I returned the truck I locked it up and dropped the keys then started the return on my phone. I wasn’t aware that I needed to take pictures of the gas and mileage. So a few hours later I got a text that said I needed to return the truck and I would be charged $20 fee. So I called customer service and it was noted on the account that I did return it on time and that I wouldn’t be charged the fee. So the next morning I decided to go into the local uhaul and waiting an additional 10 minutes because they didn’t open on time. Then the rep that helped me said that I would still be charged because I didn’t check it in on time. I told him that I was told that I wouldn’t get a fee then he rolled his eyes then said he would email me a receipt after he got it checked in. He got irritated when I asked him to do it while I was there. After a few minutes he got it checked in and told me that a receipt would be emailed to me. After I got the receipt I noticed that I was charged for gas $8.50. I filled the tank back to where it was when I left but the receipt shows a little under a full tank. So I guess since I made him work when he didn’t want to he found a was to make me pay because I don’t have any proof since I didn’t take pictures. I won’t be using this uhaul again.

Tell customers to ignore tow/haul warnings to increase fuel milage. I traveled 50 miles and used 12 gallons of gas...ridiculous!!!

I rented a motorcycle trailer, I made the reservation 3 days in advance. The trailer had 6 inches of snow in it and about 3 inches of ice under that. This is a specific trailer (for motorcycles). The trailer was totally unusable until I shoveled out all the snow and melted all the ice with a salamander heater. This deice project took over 3 hours. The snow was from at least 4 weeks prior. My personal safety was put at risk by U-Haul. As big as that shop is and with 3 days notice I feel U-Haul should bring it in the night before and let the snow melt so the customer has a usable product.

Give customers a heads up that your credit card will not be charged until the trailer is dropped off. this took me by surprise, I was also charged for an appliance dolley and did not receive one.

The safety factor is the key! I have had other storages in the past where I have been afraid at night, but this security is very high! All enclosed in a well lit building, pin codes must be entered in order to enter, plus a swipe card, very loud alarm system, exceptionally clean, also a restroom!! I had 6 flat bed carts for my use at all times, I never had to carry my items in or out to my car. I will always use the Elmira Rd U Haul for my future storages.

poor communication between your franchise owners. Found it suspicious that autopay waited until there was a late fee before charging my card. Will specifically seek out alternatives in future moves.

First, I reserved a 20 foot truck a week before I needed it. I checked with them the day before to make sure we were all set. Get there the morning of pickup and there is no 20' truck for me only a 15' truck? What is the point of making a reservation? Then the truck had something up with the allignment or breaks. Going around corners and breaking resulted in shaking of the entire vehicle. Overall very NOT HAPPY with this experience.

Don't let someone request a pick up location and then call them and tell them they have to pick it up else where and still have to drop it back off at a location they didn't want to drop off at. Also should make sure the trailers aren't full of grass clippings.

Hello, overall the location was alright, but the inside and outside and around the building could use a decent cleaning and some light repairs and maintenance in my opinion. Next I wasn't able to use the trailer for as long as I wanted due to it having a reservation in the morning I wasn't aware of and got told the last second when I got there after checking online before I went to see if it was available near me and for the time needed which it said it was but actually wasn't. The big thing was it took to long to get waited on and to look at the trailers, then to long to hook up and guy was a little over talkative. As well as not knowing the trailer was definitely not cleaned out before I got it and didn't realize till I actually started to use and load it. There was a bunch of junk and big glass chunks stuck in the ramp that I had to clean out so my self or girlfriend or her kids didn't get hurt or cut. After that started to walk in to the trailer to load stuff and come to hear cracking when I stepped guess what... more fine pieces of glass and chucks of glass and being on a time crunch even more now I didn't have the time to clean the whole trailer out so had to do most of the loading and lifting myself. I definitely feel I didn't get my money's worth and definitely did not get a cleaned out trailer and am very disappointed about that. On the plus side I cleaned out the remaining parts of the trailer and gate as much as I physically could when I dropped it off but still needs some more cleaning to make sure all the glass and debris is out by somebody at uhaul to be 100% safe for customers and the people on the road. Would definitely like to be contacted by somebody at corporate or higher up than the local uhaul.

I've found I often had to wait a long time to complete a transaction because there was only one employee at the desk and multiple customers. And, several times in the last few years I have been unable to access the rental truck I had been promised. Despite confirming the truck on line, on my arrival there was no truck in the size I had ordered. Once, I had to go to Penske to get the right size truck at the last minute. Other than that, folks have been great and the rentals

Charged me for two days when I had the trailer for one and if any extra charge maybe the $20 after hours drop off, and the attendant knew I my drop off was after the store closed Saturday night and it was returned Saturday night so I should be credited for the extra day!!!

You need to have more than ONE person working on the weekends. It took almost an hour to check in though I did the on line check in!!!!! It was just tossed. I have to recommend this for renting trucks as its the ONLY one in town!

Day before my reservation started, I get notified that the truck I reserved was no longer available(26’) and that I would now be stuck with a 15’. I arrive to pick up said truck and my reservation was cancelled. The manager(Mike) informed me that my reservation was cancelled because I didn’t show up within 30 minutes of my reservation. I looked thru my reservation confirmation emails and nowhere was that policy stated. This was very upsetting as I was then told that in the 30 minutes beyond my “reservation cancellation time slot” they had already gotten rid of my truck and the only thing left was a cargo van. I was moving a 3 bedroom house and farm. This was highly unacceptable. The only positive light was the manager Mike. He got on the phone and tried finding me something. He was able to figure something out, but just couldn’t get my allotted reservation time of 2 days. He was the one and only positive experience that I had with using UHaul this time. The truck cab wreaked of cigarettes. I will never recommend UHaul after this experience.

Worst customer service, employee installed wrong size hitch ball, installed incorrectly. The hitched failed in Loisville,Ky. Which did $700.00 worth of damage to my vehicle. Also after the employee installed the hitch she told me she never put one on? The manager of the store was there. He was to busy putting up Halloween decorations with his daughter to help his employee with issues she was having.

I did a one way truck rental to Elmira, and wanted to use the free month of storage. First I was forced to buy an $11 lock despite having my own, and then the unit smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

I have used long term Climate Controlled Storage Units in other states, including Uncle Bobs in Ohio, ExtraSpace in Kentucky and Guardian Storage in Pennsylvania. This U-Haul location was the best!
