Very helpful and understanding
MICHAEL R | First ImpressionsI gave the U-Haul storage business a five stars in general. But there is an employee there that is exemplary in customer service and attitude. Sophia was more than a delight to deal with, had all the necessary information, and was very helpful during an unforeseen moment when I was not feeling well and needed to extend my use of a truck. I cannot say I've had an unpleasant or bad experience with any employee there, but Sophia really stands out as an exceptional representative of the U-Haul business.
ANTHONY B | Overall ExperienceThe staff were excellent. Everyone I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer my questions. This is the best storage facility I have ever used. I would definitely use Elmira U-Haul again.

Sometimes people have to work and then they have to get dinner but they also might have to do some moving or fill their storage area. In the night. We found that the 10:00 cut off really curtailed our ability to get everything done in one night.

christopher R | Overall ExperienceThis place was above average when i first moved my things in there and even after a year or so when i would have to go in to find something there were no issues. The place was super clean including the restroom on the 1st floor. Fast forward to 2 months ago when my husband and I went to get our things they were covered in mouse droppings and urine and the place smelled horrible. We were told that food had been brought in with someone's things months prior and caused an infestation. It really was a disappointment considering I paid the extra to have the benefit of climate controlled storage and rented out 3 units. I feel like the company could have informed their customers of this and offered some kind of compensation. If you didn't purchase the insurance when you started the account then you're SOL.

However, a couple newer employees are placed out at front counter way too soon and are not properly trained which is extremely annoying and frustrating to customers who are trying to do simple transactions like making a monthly payment.
tom s | Overall ExperienceBuilding itself and units were well maintained, secure, clean. But when I moved out there was mouse droppings and food all over my belongings. Staff did not have the decency to let me know there was a mouse problem in the area of the building where my unit was, which was evident with the mouse traps between each unit down the hall (only that hall). I would have gladly come and moved to another unit or vacated entirely.
Brighton W | Overall ExperienceEveryone in the office was great and very helpful whenever I needed anything. My possessions were safe and secure and I appreciated the climate control which saved some of my stuff from extreme heat or cold damage. Would definitely recommend to friends.
