I would not recommend this location to anyone that follows the return instructions just to be told to put the keys in the truck and they will handle the rest and then call to say we didn’t return the truck in time .

I’m not sure what happened there. Kevin was super nice. But whoever worked on my car really messed up. They broke the keychain on my keys. And there was stuff missing out of the car. There was a brand new pop up canopy tent that is suddenly gone. So someone needs to replace it or return it to us.

Arrived on time ( actually a half an hour early ) to pick up my pre-booked rental. Was told that they didn’t have the truck I booked. Then I was told they had the truck but couldn’t find the keys to it. The uhaul associate then spent over half an hour looking for the keys without success before telling me she was going to transfer my reservation to another uhaul location. We then drove to that location where we found a long line of customers waiting ahead of us and one single employee to help them. We waited another hour to be helped. Finally got the truck, used it and returned it with the same amount of gas in it as we received it but we were still charged for gas. All and all this was a typical experience with renting from uhaul.

Review of U-Haul on 3rd Avenue West in Birmingham U-Haul on 3rd Avenue West in Birmingham has been my go-to location for storage and rentals. I have rented storage units, moving trucks, and cargo vans from this facility several times, and my experiences have generally been positive. During my most recent visit, I ran into an issue while trying to check out of my storage unit because there was a lock on the unit that I did not recognize. After asking about it, I learned that U-Haul had placed the lock there because I did not have my own lock on the unit, which I had not realized was required. Once that was explained, the situation was resolved. I appreciate the staff’s time, effort, and courtesy in helping me work through the issue. The only area I think could improve is the speed of service, though I understand wait times can depend on the day and time you visit. Overall, I would still recommend this location and appreciate the help I received.

After arriving to pick up the trailer that I reserved, I waited over 30 minutes for someone to come to the lobby to help. Then I hooked up the trailer and let the employee hook up everything correctly, however one of the safett chains was broken so he said he had to replace it. He could not get the chain undone with a wrench so he started beating it with a hammer to try to get it off. This did not work. He then left from trying to help me and did not tell me anything to service other guests. After more waiting, I went back inside to see what was going on and he said he would come back after he was done with these people. I then called customer service to see if there was another trailer at a different location that I could get instead and the customer service put me on hold and I ended the call after being on hold for over 10 minutes. Finally, another employee showed up and they replaced the chain and put electical tape over the wires for the lights that I expressed did not look safe and did not help because the drivers side break light was out. Being in the location for over two hours to pick up a simple trailer was being ridiculous and the actions taken during this time were very frustrating and unprofessional. I was not offered a discount for these troubles or for the events that made this experience take so long. I will do everything in my power to never use uhaul again especially this location.

Parking space was limited due to working on new adding new concrete to the area but not convenient alternative parking. Ms Cunningham was good, having a extra lock on the storage when I arrived on 3 different occasions for no fault of mine is mind blowing and a huge inconvenience, due to that I decided to cancel the storage after 27 days of rental, the staff need to make sure they know the status of each building as far as not being doubled booked,payment status, etc to ensure what happened to me don’t happen to anyone else. 1. Allow your customers who have been there longer than 6 months to use your private dumpster. It's selfish not to allow it. 2. Help customers toss mattresses, especially if they have been there longer than 6 months. Set up a system to help hall away items for customers who have paid for long stays. 3. If a customer has patronized your business for a considerable amount of time be willing to bend a few rules. Make it fair and willing to help assist the customer. Be willing to bend stiff rules. Then your customers will always return to a family like business.

Lamento mucho. Decir que la persona. Que me atendió de muy mala forma. Yo e requerido el servicio por otras ocasiones esta ves. La persona que atiende. No es nada agradable tenía una reservación. Y decíaque no tenía la reservación y que no tenían. STORAGE. a atenderme por qué mi inglés no es muy bueno me sentí muy incomoda con el trato hablé con una persona de servio y ella me ayudo. A que me buscara STORAGE y me dio uno muy pequeño fue nesezario buscar iotra reservación más

The young lady who helped me yesterday deserves a pay raise she was the only one working in the facility as well as making sure everybody was okay she held her own and she did it with a smile and gave excellent customer service at the five points location

Angel was very nice and helpful. I asked her a question and she explained everything to me. She took her time and it was another female there also I think she was new but she was nice also. The unit was very convenient to me.

I rented the unit on behalf of my Nephew who lost his mother to a heart attack in July and his Stepfather in August. He lives in Florida and needed someplace to store househhold items. I am extremely disappointed that I could not get a refund of the unused portion of my rental payment. The ending date for my initial rental was 24 September. Prior to that date, I made a payment. My nephew and I cleared the unit out on 27 September, just 3 days later. I believe that I should only be charged for the 2 or 3 days from the 24th. and rest should be refunded to me. The storage facility itself was excellent. I used the unit for several years and found no problems with my stored items. The problems that I had was with the parking. On Saturday, September 12, 2020, I parked my vehicle in a parking space painted for parking. When I parked, I felt a pull on my right bumper. When I looked, a nail protruding from the cement barrier had ripped off the right side of my bumper. I informed the manager, Shinita Cunningham. She said that the parking spots were for hitches, but there were no signs saying the parking spots were for the hitches. I now have a damaged bumper and I am not pleased about it because it could have been avoided. There are no customer parking spaces for storage customers. That problem needs to be addressed. On Sunday, September 13, 2020, the normal staff was off. The gentleman filling in could not open the storage area because he did not have the keys or codes. Me and my family waited for 1 1/2 hrs but were still unable to get into the storage area. I thought it was ridiculous that he did not have the correct information necessary to continue normal operations. It was very frustrating and I had to reschedule meeting dates with my family to complete emptying the storage unit. Communication is of the utmost importance to keep a business functional and your customers stress and worry free.

This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had moving with Uhaul. I just have spoke with 12 individuals from 800 Uhaul online, Ethics department, store managers, clerks, and maybe 2 individuals were pleasant and willing to assist my family and I. Hey ur storage reservation was secured wrong by representative, the services that were supposed to be available were not available putting the safety of my family at risk. The size of the storage that I reserved and was forced to down grade to a unit that almost didn’t fit the capacity of my goods. We were threatened by the staff. Worst experience ever.

I encountered some unprofessional conduct during my experience. Twice they posted a late fee when they failed to deduct the payment; I had to call headquarters twice. I feel being I closed out account a few days after making a payment, I should've been refunded

I am from Arkansas and oftentimes I am in Birmingham and requires Uhaul services whether it is storage or trucks. If I run into any online problems. I call Shenita and she takes care of me. The best!!
