My issue is that I couldn’t use the storage unit due to it being too small. I requested a refund, was told the GM was 99% sure I could get one but she had to check with corporate and would give me a call back the next morning. I did not receive a call back so I went in to the store but the GM was not there (surprise) even though I was told she’s be opening the store that day. I was told that storage was down nationwide so a staff wrote my name and phone number down and said she’d have the GM call me Monday morning to resolve my issue. I did not receive a call on Monday so I called the store and was on hold for 50 minutes. The representative that I spoke with entered an action claim and said someone would call me within 24-72 hours. I have not received a call but I did receive an emailed receipt showing that I was not charged for the storage unit, however I paid for it and I still have not received my refund or a call from any manager.Teesha C. | Overall Experience

I actually had rented a trailer from another location that managed to mess up reservation and costing me the only 6x12 trailer for 100 miles. I was soo furious with them, as they took over 1 hr to call and notify me. At this point, I had already spent 84 dollars for a teialer hitch and lockpin to pull above trailer with. I went to Prospect location, which wss under staffed, yety agent had a great attitude. She looked up my reservation and saw other location was supposed to have a trailer for me. She offered a truck and a reduced cost to make it up to me. I got the truck for 2 days. When I returned on Friday evenning, the parking lot was overflwoing with returned vehicles, and dealt with the same employee who was clearly exhausted. She is an amazing person and needs a promotion for her hard work and great customer relations. She also severly needs help to help her so she doesnt get burnt out and quit. She is a great asset to the company. Also, side note, my wife and I had both called this location and spent over 10 minutes each on hold, trying to contact this location, due to lack of staff.DANIEL O.
The location on Prospect and the people were all great. However, your website needs improvement. I indicate I want to pickup a trailer at the prospect location, but then it ask where I want to return the trailer, it never gave me an option to return to the same site. That should be the default. I booked reservation at this site. Got a call shortly afterwards telling me that they did not have equipment but it was in another location. I called that location and they confirmed availability. Drove to second location and they were unable to find the trailer. Uhaul then confirmed that none were available. I then called the original location and was told they DID have the trailer. Not so much this specific location, but Frederick uhaul scheduling team did a poor job is confirming and helping me during a giant 1,100+ miles move. After booking more than a month in advance, I found out 2 days before my move that the equipment rentals (10 FT Uhaul and car transport) would not be available in the same location. This created a mess. Me playing detective, calling scheduling team repeatedly to find a location that had both truck and trailer in the same place. That is why I booked to begin with. It was only me in the move. I needed to be able to go back to the location where I left my car to then load it on the car hauler/transport. They explained that none of the locations in the area could accommodate this. Unacceptable. Where was this information before in a timely manner? After it took forever with the rep behind the counter, who was new and tried booking a entirety new trip instead of my reservation, I finally picked up the truck to go and load my belongings. Thank God I had a friend who could follow me to the 2nd uhaul location where the car transport was and then take me to get my car at the 1st location. Here's where it's REALLY upsetting - I get to the 2nd location and not only do they have my car transport but there are multiple 10 FT Uhaul trucks available sitting in the parking lot! Which means they had both equipment rentals available at a Frederick location after I spent hours in the phone only to be told it couldn't happen. The trucks were in the system and the people in the scheduling team SHOULD HAVE SEEN THEM. The driving back and fourth between locations put me over 2 hours behind schedule. This was a big move and you guys really let me down and wasted a lot of my time.Jeremy Y.
The staff member couldn't find my reservation. After 20 minutes another staff member walked up and found it right away. As it was found, the staff member informed me it had been system canceled while he was finalizing it. They then needed to call corporate to resolve the issue. In total it took about 45-60 minutes. The only reason that I did not rate you "Excellent" is because I was unable to reach a live person on the phone regarding an existing rental for close to 30 min. Nor was I able to reach a live person at the 800# for over 20 minutes. Vehicles and customer service on site at check in / check out excellent as always --- but phone silence is entirely unacceptable. Hire more people locally/nationally (even as independent contractors working remotely) to answer phones instead of pushing people constantly to unmanned website. One bad event has ruined my experience with this location. I returned my trailer rental BEFORE it was due back. The attendant told me the computers were down and wrote the return on a yellow sticky pad. I said "No problem". Sine I have done business here before, i thought nothing of it and went on my way. Two days later, I am double charged saying I returned the trailer a day late. I dialed the store (took 30 minutes to answer) to tell them what happened only to be told they are unable to process a refund and I would need to call customer service. I took that number, dialed and proceeded to wait another 45 minutes for a representative to pick up. I explained the situation and was then told I had to wait THREE days for a manager to contact me with a resolution. This is unacceptable. I did MY part. I returned the equipment in the same condition as I took it PRIOR to it's due back time and this is how you treat your customers. YOU made an error and I have to pay for it. Will not rent from here again and will never use U-Haul again if I can help it.Steven M.

With all consideration to good people trying to do their best, yesterday was a train wreck. I arrived on time to pick up my reserved trailer and first was told it was not there, then it was there but damaged, then it was ok and they were getting it ready. All of which took about 30 minutes. Then I learned that due to a â€œsystem problemâ€ my trailer could not be put in the system as returned. While my trailer was sitting ready, I had to wait another 90 minutes - total of two hours from arrival until I left with my trailer. This delay really upset my schedule and nearly ruined my work day. Thankfully, I was able to do an after hours drop off around 9:30 pm except there were no wheel chocks or jacks in site. The trailer was a dual axle and too heavy to lift by hand so I managed to use my car Jack to lift it off the hitch. Another 30 minutes lost. The total 2.5 hours of my wasted time was more costly to me than the rental was worth.PATRICK P.

The check-out process by mobile phone is not convenient at all. I have a faster time checking out a car at the airport. Uploading my license, providing alternate numbers..i could have done a lot of that prework prior to picking up the truck. I ended up going inside which was a lot faster. I have dealt with Uhaul in the past at a different location and never received customer service like I did at this location. We happened upon some icey conditions and the trailer we rented jackknifed and there was some damage. I had taken out insurance on the trailer. When I returned the trailer and explained what happened, the 2 men helping me both said that they were glad my son and I were ok and didn't care about the damage to the trailer that was fixable. I never got that kind of treatment from the Uhaul company that is closer to me. These people could have even charged me 2 additional days and only charged me one additional day of rental. I'm very satisfied with this place and their customer service! They get an A++! If ever I need Uhaul again I will go the extra distance to this location for services. Thank you!BETH V.

I had a 7AM reservation. I was there at 7:05am and it took till 8am to pick up a trailer. It took 10 minutes in the office and 45 minutes to watch a truck get a trailer hooked up that was blocking mine. I then tried to reach U haul at the local and 800 number and sat on hold over an hour over 5 calls. I wanted to add a day, but since i couldn't get any one to answer i drove an hour to return by the time indicated. When i asked about the phone the sales person looked at the phone 2 feet away from him and said they had been busy. So I lost a few hours today returning it and having to go back an hour to the job. I am going to Rentals Unlimited now and renting a box truck for the additional day which is not ideal because of the bed height. I have used U Haul a few times a year for several years since i started my business 5 years ago when weather effects deliveries. I wont be doing that again!!!ERIC S.

I enrolled in College in 2010 and during the Covid-19 I landed a job in my career in Biotechnology and worked on the Covid-19 Vaccine during the Global Pandemic of 2020-2021...... Only a single suggestion/complaint - the alarm that sounds when someone opens a unit without having first signed in is painfully loud and likely could lead to permanent hearing loss. Since no one on the staff responds to these alarms, there would seem to be no reason to have them so loud. Elevator was broken on day of move out. According to staff, the elevator had broken the day before but the technicians had not been called out until that day to come fix it. I had told office staff I wS moving out of my unit April 2nd. They billed me on April 3rd for another month. The unit was filled with mice turds and had chewed through multiple boxes and damaged my property. The manager there was particularly obnoxious and made no effort to return my money. If the staff remains the same, I would be sure to anyone inquiring to NEVER store their belongings there. A month later and I'm still having to throw items out, including expensive wool coats for being chewn or finding mice turds on items and throwing them away. Worst U-haul facility that I have ever dealt with. The manager will never call you back and you better be prepared to fork out more money to them if you cannot move out before your month end. Other facilities said they had no problem if I moved out a few days after the end of month without charging me but not this one. So now not only do they get a little over $300 from me but they just turn around a re-rent the the two units I had to someone else and collect double money. Don't bother to try to work it out with them because they will say that it is out of their hands which is not true.
