Our pickup was awesome. We were assigned a trailer and an employee even helped me hook it up. That was a new experience. Dropping it off, the manager was wearing a sweatshirt with a hole in it. Asked if I could drop it off by myself...no issues...never gave a receipt. Got a call the next day asking when I would be returning the uhual trailer that I had dropped off the day before. Dropped it several hours early but they had no record of it. Was really not excited about that. It is a one day cheap rental and my spouse and I are resellers so we rent at least once every couple of months. However, when the manager fails to check in what we delivered, that is pretty pathetic and I don't want to do business with someone like that. Sorry. The first 2 who got us a trailer and loaded it...wow. They were on their game. How is it that they were better at treating customers and handling equipment than the manager? The only way I knew she was management is because when I reported that I had indeed returned the trailer, I knew what she drove. I had blocked her in while I was unloading and could tell the staff what the employee was driving to prove I was there and I returned. The employee said, 'Oh, that was the manager.' Would have NEVER GUESSED otherwise. Will consider borrowing a trailer from a friend in the future if this manager remains at this establishment. I'm not getting calls like that again.KRISTEN R.

I have bought four units at this facility. I just checked out of two of them due to i was able to condense my items into the remaining two to save some money. When i was checking out i was informed and noticed a complete change in attitude and management was taking place so it looks like things are moving in the right direction. However, this wasnt the case when i moved in around October of 2021. I was told things were really bad by the new personal, due to management issues and i understand things can be hectic but i believe there is a common ground that all personnel should be expected to adhere too in the absence of a General Manager. What i witnessed and went through should not happen anywhere. Im a returning customer with U Haul and every place seems to be the same and i can count on how things are ran and up till this facility things have been spot on. At first i thought it might of been an associated storage using the uhaul name and having "their own way of doing things" but no this was a full blown Uhaul store. From reserving to actually paying for my unit ahead of time so i knew it was there for me as i was making a long distance move in a 26ft truck i needed everything to work in my favor and expected it after dealing with uhaul before. After driving long hours I walked in and they said my unit wasnt available. Which i thought was odd since they said they "put eyes on it" not only did we reserve the unit weeks ago we paided for it to be there to permanently lock the storage as we knew availability was limited.. after and hour of waiting and witnessing how lazy everyone was. They got it figured out. I also bought an outdoor storage that wasnt even available due to the "previous manager using it for personal things" and you guessed it... it was the only one of the size I needed available.. which is why we needed the extra two I just checked out of.. I also saw why i was on hold for so long when i called months before. They answer the call put it on hold and let it sit, going back to their cell phones... with nobody even in the store to assist.. Lazy and unprofessional at its best. The storage facility was poorly kept as well. We bought 24hr access to help ourselves.. The dock lights were off all night long, bathrooms not stocked with toilet paper,towels or even soap.. hot water at the sink was pure cold even after letting it run! Best part was they would lock the lock the sliding automatic door 30 minutes before closing, with a key lock stating "homeless people get in". Then when they would open the next day the slding door was still locked until about noon to 1 o'clock in the afternoon. So everyone who pulled up during the day would have to use the mandoor only! I witnessed nothing of the homeless sort as i worked through the night and rested their briefly and worked through the next day. Always kept to myself and was never in anyones way. If the security would be working as it should then even after hours, my 24 hr access should of gotten me into the building through either the man door or sliding door as ive experienced before. Not to mention the person who unlocked the door acted so rudely and bothered like we were "inconveniencing them". The whole facility was very shady to say the least. I hope the new management and new faces behind the workings get it back up to standards. This facility needs it and from what ive seen in the amount of Red access denied tags. The worker at the front desk, Ryan, was wonderful. He was extremely helpful and attentive to our issues with the truck we picked up from another location. He went out of his way to take care of us and make sure he found what we needed at the storage facility. This is the second time I've worked with him and both times he has been great. Shequeena and Ryan were super helpful even after I had to get a bigger room after I got started unloading. Had a minor incident with another customer who couldn't get in and was yelling at me to let him in. I did not said I couldn't and he started screaming at me. Ryan came to the building to straighten his code out and he was still yelling at me. I asked Ryan to stay until he went in and he graciously did. I was by myself and an older woman. Was then given another van, same issue, so because the first van was cleaner and newer, I went back in and asked for the first van with the low pressure sensor light on. When I got to the location to pick up the truck, the door to your place of business would not open. One of customers had to let me in. None of the employees apologized for the inconvenience due to the door not working. As I sat there and waited, no one said â€œwe will be with you shortlyâ€. I just stood there. To be clear, I'm not upset at all. I think is a great learning opportunity to engage the customer and show them that they matter and care. I really enjoyed the customer service and the process of retrieving my equipment was fast and efficient, however, a furniture dolly was in my order and when I got to the store, they did not have said dolly, they were able to refund that piece, however, it made my move a much longer/harder than it needed to be; it thankfully all worked out but it would have been a lot better of an experience if we had had that furntiture dolly in tow.Samantha K.

I was not greeted when I pulled into the lot. I was not directed as to where to drop off the trailer so I found an open spot in the lot drop off the trailer. I did not expect the store to be open during the holiday so started the online drop off process when I saw someone enter the store. I went into the store and found a uhaul associate who's first question was â€œdid you just drop of that trailer out front?â€ When I responded that I had she complained that I had not left it in the correct spot. I offered (twice) to move it to a different location and was told it would be okay she would take care of it. I asked if I needed to sign for the drop off and again was told that she would take care of it. I did not complete the online drop off process because I was told that the in store associate would take care of the process and would email me a return. The email I received on the Monday after the holiday included a bill for $97 for extra days rental showing that the trailer had not been returned until the Monday after the holiday. I called and explained the situation and was told that (again) that it would be taken care of but as of 3 days later the charge is still on my credit card. My last call was to uhaul corporate who has put me on hold for 45 minutes.Matthew B.

Moving van had significant mechanical issues. The exhaust was leaking, transmission was slipping and had difficulty shifting into gear, brakes were very worn and did not slow the vehicle effectively, and the steering arms needed new ball joints. There were more issues than ones that could simply be obtained by driving it, as the vehicle only managed 5mpg in mixed city/highway use. Two of the three employees in the store refused to do any actual work, one of them was lying to customers about their reservation and availability of vehicles to a customer on the phone in order to avoid doing any work. The third employee who actually helped me was great and got me out the door, but it was a lot of frustration getting to that point.BRANDON R.
Clean the vehicles, remove any adhesive from the windshield blocking the view of the road, fix the radio dial that adjusts the sound. Fix the auto door locks so I do not have to do it manually. Fix the alignment in the vehicles. Use frebreeze so the trucks DO NOT REEK OF SMOKE. So annoying. Educate the customer service so they can explain all the charges on the contract and not just guess. All of those things happened or are currently wrong with my cargo van. I just paid $929.00 and I feel like third hand garbage. Like no one cares who rents from uhaul. I should have a prefferred status with a discount. Ive spent 6,000 on uhaul rentals this year.Thomas P.

I checked in online, got my rental unit with access code. The website said a lock would be in the unit when I arrived. When I arrived, the access code did not work, so I checked in at the front. When I got to my rental unit, there was a lock on the unit as it had already been rented by someone else. The staff was very helpful getting this fixed, but I was almost there after closing. Not completely this locations fault, but i got bounced between 3 places before getting the size truck i originally ordered. I drove the truck 50 miles, and 1 mile before returning i put in $30 in gas which put the gas needle back to where it was when i picked it up. However, i was charged almost $25 in gas. I've followed up on that and have not gotten any response. I should not have been charged anything for gas as i went out of my way to make sure it was refilled.Robert G.

I selected mobile check out when making the reservation, upon arriving your website said the vehicle could not be checked out and I had to speak to a representative. There was a line of about 10 people and the worker was in no rush to get people out the door. It took way too long and apparently a reservation means nothing because the guy in front of me reserved a 25" and was SOL when they didn't have any and were told the reservation isn't a guarantee... Then when dropping off my van I had to wait in a long line again because they had charged me for two days instead of one. Only the manager can refund but she wasn't in office so I had to talk to her on the associate's phone. While trying to get refunded I got another random $3 charge for no apparent reason and was told "Idk why it does that, it did this same thing to a guy the other day" like WHATTT. I don't trust their systems at all. I did end up getting my money back, but that was probably the most frustrating service experience I've ever had. I reserved at 20' truck for pick up at 11:30am 10/30/21. When I got there at 11:30am in the parking lot I checked in on my iphone. I went inside and got in line and it was only 2 people in front of me. Looking at my iPhone the instructions said to look for my truck # and confirm if I see it. So, I got out of line to do so and did not see my truck on the lot. I went back inside and there were three additional people that had come in and just that short of time. I asked for The manager because my reserved truck wasn't there. I was told by the lady at the desk who said her name was Jonze Williams and she said she was the manager. I told her that I was upset because my reserved truck was not on their lot. She told me that Uhaul over books reservations and that at their location they just go by first come first serve. I was apalled because I have been renting from Uhaul for over 15 years and have never experienced this. I told the manager that I needed a replacement for the one that they gave to someone else and that guy was only third in line when I first came in there but because I had to go out to the parking lot and look for the truck now I have to wait longer which is no fault of my own. The benefit of reserving and checking in from the phone is that all I have to do is go in and they hand me the key no waiting. This manager was not at all apologetic nor did she displayed any kind of empathy and told me I just had to wait. Her whole attitude was very unprofessional and frankly immature. She Hass to be a new manager at that store because only six months ago I had rented a U-Haul from there and there was a different manager. I hate to see anyone become unemployed but clearly this manager needs to receive coaching and further training on sensitivity and not making excuses and to stand behind U-Haul companies reservation policies. Jonze should definitely be coached about not honoring customers who have reserved and checked in from their phone. Another truck was provided to me, but it was not for a one-way trip which meant I had to bring the truck back to that location I'm mechanical Boulevard from where I moved to 30 minutes away. This caused me to have an additional 25 miles to pay for than if my original reserved truck had not been given to someone else. So instead of paying $85 I had to pay $117. All because my reservation was not honored.renee P.

Above average rating due to you need additional personnel to manage this location to decrease the wait times in the queue and also a dedicated person to clean the vehicles. The truck that I rented, the steering wheel on the vehicle was sticky and there was trash still in the vehicle from the previous renter. You all should get into the practice of cleaning the vehicles after each return. This is vital especially due to the pandemic.Carl S.

This was the most unprofessional customer service experience I have had in a while. I checked in online but still had to wait 25 minutes in the store. I also reserved a storage unit. I was given FOUR different units until I was finally given one that wasn't ALREADY occupied. How can you manage a storage facility but don't keep an accurate list of what's occupied and what's open? I made FOUR TRIPS from the storage area to the office because every unit I was given was occupied. The truck I rented transmission was slipping so bad I thought I was going to breakdown. The older white lady with the short hair , who I think was the Manger was more concerned with smoking cigarettes instead of assisting the ONE employee who was trying her best to accommodate a full lobby. This young lady was a new hire and was placed in the most horrible position. I usual go to the hwy 64 location on New Bern Ave. They are OUTSTANDING!! Professional, friendly and helpful.
