Poor customer service. Pick up is a drawn out hassle. If there is more than 2 customers in the store you will wait at least 30 min. If you call on the phone good luck! I was treated like an employee when dropping off a trailer. I had to wait then was yelled at to "park it where it belongs & make sure it's put back right!" I then had to go in & wait to be checked out! I will NEVER use this location again!

By bolting the dolly to the side of the truck, it is in the way when you have a full load. We had to pull it out just to fit all of our stuff but because we removed it they charged us for it. We didn’t use it. I understand it’s only $14 ($7 a day) but still Not really a fair situation.

Two rentals in a row uhaul changed the return location from the one on the contract. Multiple calls were required in both cases to correct the problem. The locations uhaul changed the return to were 2.5 and 1.5 hours away when there is a return location 2 miles from our destination.

Fill up the truck with gas before customer rents. I have rented trucks from Uhaul at least 6 times and they always were. Except for this time. I hadn't noticed it wasn't and when I topped it off after driving 32 miles, it cost me about $50.00. I got took. The employees were very rude, not informative and had poor customer service.

Rented an auto transport trailer. Didnt notice it on my initial inspection, but when loading my vehicle onto the trailer and positioning the drivers side fender down, I noticed the rear left tire on the trailer was unevenly worn and down into the tread wear marks with little tread left. I didnt return to the lot as it was 2 hours away from my home, but I pointed it out when I returned the trailer and they made a note to get a new tire installed. I dont know how U-haul manages checking trailer tires for wear, but this one should have been changed out. The front axle tire on the drivers side was in much better shape looking to have been changed out recently. I was however very pleased with the location and personnel. Very Friendly and helpful. If I needed another trailer in the area, I would definitely return here.

The check engine light went on within the first 30 minutes and the A/C stopped working as soon as we got to the freeway. The staff member said we could switch trucks at the next available location but after spending all morning loading the current truck and needing to drive 200 miles this was not an option. The cab was hotter than the temperature outside the entire way and trying to use the A/C made more noise than having a window open on the highway.
The staff overall was really helpful and professional but the malfunctioning truck was a problem.

Guy at pick up location didnt make the booking for me as I requested. I was in an emergency situation. To return the truck to the pick up I would have had to drive 4 hours out of my way. I asked for a specific drop off location at glenwoodsprings and I asked him to change the pick up time from 10pm to immediately as I had someone who could give me a ride. Once I arrived after a 30 minute drive in a strangers vehicle who was kind enough to help, I get there and the rental was not available on the app for pick up because he hadn't changed the time from the original booking. So I had to phone back and speak to someone, it took me over 40 minutes from arriving to access the vehicle after filing in all the forms and payment details on the app. I phoned booking line and was told it wouldn't be a problem to change the location of drop off along as no one had it booked for the following day. But I'd have to call back in the morning, to which I did. I spoke with Daniella at the regional booking office. Who was at first polite, but contradicted the previous 2 phone operators who I had discussed it with. And told me I wouldn't at all be able to change the drop off location as I had signed the contract. Well given the situation I was in reading the small print on a contract for a budget rental wasn't on my things to be doing on the side of i70 at 9pm in the dark whilst on the phone with a man who had no interest in helping me and just wanted to go home from his day shift. I was clearly very frustrated with this response from Daniella, Thus resulting in an unecassary amount of stress for what it was, As a result I gave her unecassary attitude. I couldn't understand why the regional booking office couldn't make that change. So I hung up the phone and called back hoping to get another operator who would be willing to help as I have changed drop off locations many times during the active rental time. To my dismay I get Danielle back on the phone, who begins raising her voice, talking over me, being condesending and eventually hanging up the phone on me mid sentence, whilst I tried to agree on an exact time to recieve the call so I could make sure I had cell service up in Aspen where I was working. But she was so defensive she didnt want to listen, so she hung uo abruptly once she got her point across, vefore hand we agreed that she was going to speak with her "supervisor" when they arrive at 8am, but she wasnt sure exactly when I would receive a call back because " the supervisor or manager would have had other things to be doing the moment she / he walked into the office". Roughly 1 hour later, Daniella phones me back and proceeds to change the booking and tells me she need to get approval first, which defeats the purpose of having a direct booking line that has an option to modify existing bookings.....if the original booking location in grand junction had the truck reserved for someone else the following day I would have totally understood and there would not have been an issue. And if Daniella would have explained herself a little better and being a public rep of a company, if you can't handle customers with real world problems and stressful emergency situations, in a manner that reassures us, then youre in the wrong work sector and should probably find a different department to work in. So the booking eventually got changed, I apologised for my verbal behaviour and thanked Danielle for her time.
The only people who made me feel heard and reassured me and gave good customer service where the two people who answered my calls who then directed me to the reservations line. Otherwise Danielle's situational awareness and empathy was shot out, and maybe she needs to wake up earlier if its a "first thing in the morning" mistake.
Even the guy at the return desk in who I took the rental back had a 1 year old baby crawling around in a play pen inside rhe uhaul office and was also unnecessarily rude.
Im not one to complain but your customer relations team's problem solving, customer service and access to the correct practices and policies needs work.
I will never willingly rent from Uhaul ever again, for personal or commercial use, unless its my last resort in another emergency situation. Cheap rentals give cheap customer service.
I eventually got the keys got the truck and did what I needed to get done, and the truck was returned to the location I originally requested the following day.
Alot of stress that I didnt need whilst already being stressed. Worst experience with a rental company I've ever had. Would not recommend.

Have good equipment ready with minor damage not major. If it’s not roadworthy pull it out of inventory. If you change the equipment print new paperwork less problems for the customer on a one way rental. At the drop off I arrived well before the designated time and was charger for another day had to park the trailer between two other rental units in their lot lift the trailer off the ball. I did get a refund for the extra day but it should have never been charged the receiving location did not do the paperwork on arrival they waited till after the time it was due. Glad I only rent once in a while like years apart this is a pain

The guy kept complaining I was late bringing the truck. When I picked the truck up. I was told it had to be returned by 7:00 p.m. and he says no. It was 7:00 a.m. and then kept telling me they could charge me extra for bringing it late. I think it is ridiculous that it was 48 hours for a $600 rental on a over 300 mile move. How is someone supposed to load and unload and do all this useless equipment that doesn't go fast? My average was around 30 miles an hour so a trip that normally at most takes 5 hours took me over 10

Several critical safety features related to our rental trailer were either missing, damaged, or deteriorated. A U-Haul employee was responsible for connecting the trailer to my vehicle. Once the employee connected the trailer to my vehicle, I was told it was safe to drive away. Before driving away, I inspected the trailer hitch and its connections, and I pointed out several oversights and dangerous or defective conditions in the rental trailer connection to the person who had connected the trailer to my vehicle. The employee walked away, and a short time later a different employee returned and began to badger me for bringing attention to the issues. Instead of correcting the issues, the newly arrived employee accused me of being drunk (it was 10:30 in the morning and I don’t drink), and was aggressive and combative towards me. Once I pointed out and explained the deficiencies, the employee finally acknowledged them, and attempted to make repairs to the trailer connection but was unable to repair all of the issues I pointed out. Beware of damaged and/or defective safety equipment on your rental if you use this location. Furthermore, be prepared to be harassed if you bring up a dangerous condition caused by damaged equipment on one of their rentals. I will not be returning to, or patronizing this U-Haul location ever again. Please double check every connection any employee at this location makes to your vehicle.

3 stars because the poor old guy working by himself was really nice and gave me and my lady a cold water. He was a bit slow but that’s okay again he was all by himself manning the whole store. -1 star because the truck was okay… the car dolly trailer was not. Some where fairly early along my 1500 mile journey the driver side tail light fell off the trailer entirely and is probably in a million pieces somewhere. Pretty unsafe to only have a passenger side tail light break light and blinker because all 3 of these were the one light. -1 star because I’m not a fan of the auto transport trailers . They have such a steep incline to the lading ramps. I can’t even get my car on them and my car isn’t that low to the ground. It still factory ride hight. I know this without having to try it because I rented one of the auto transport trailers to tow my 4x4 lifted off road truck and it nearly scraped while trying to get on the trailer.

The wiring was not done in a professional manner, i.e., it is not properly covered with a waterproof dressing (shrink tube or proper vinyl tape) and it is poorly secured all around. There's also about a foot of extra wiring wound up and zip tied - this could have been cut to proper length. With a little more effort, the job could have been done correctly to insure that it lasts. In addition, the plug part is secured to the hitch with a rubber cover that could easily come off, drag across the road, and wear, as opposed to a proper hard plastic adapter secured to the hitch. Unless they offer to make it right, now I have to spend time and money on materials making it as good as possible at this point.

The staff working the counter didn’t seem to know how to work the computer very well. Walked in 1 person on there phone and didn’t even acknowledge I was there had to go find the truck even though I had reserved the truck in advance the air conditioning stopped working 2 blocks away from the rental company I had paid for 6 moving pads and had to remind the person at the counter even though he had mentioned it when going over the fees not a very good experience

The manager Lonnie rented out the equipment I already paid for and laughed in my face when he suggested I rent an even more expensive option since he rented out the last 1 I wanted. I had to call corporate and lose 2 days on my contract just to get what I had paid for! NEVER go to this location unless you have money to just give away when they rent ur stuff out from under you! I am from out of state and forgot to bring the ball mount for my hitch. The U-Haul dealer allowed me to borrow one at no charge. This was really appreciated. Trailer was a bit dirty and needed to be swept out. Not a big deal.

Did contactless move in on internet. Was quoted a 8x10 unit with outside access. When got to unit is was a 5x5 if that and had to walk almost 60 ft to even get to the very small unit once was even able to find it! Had to contact customer service 4 times before anything was handled. Then when manager contacted me by email 2 days later...he was unprofessional and rude...said I cursed at him cause I said this is bull crap. Still haven't received refund or an apology. my card still shows they are charging me for something that I never used and was lied to about. But of course can't get a hold of anyone. THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFFESIONAL PLACE I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN RENTING FROM THEM OR PLEASE KEEP LOOKING ELSE WHERE!! Came to put a couch in my storage and couldn’t get in . The old managers phone number was on the door , not the new one . So I called the 800 number and they gave me the new manager phone number , I left a message on his voice mail and he has yet to call me back . It’s been over 24 hours . The original sales person was wonderful though

Don't lose your key and use your own bolt cutters to cut off. I caused no damage I am a licensed contractor in Colorado and if hiring a lock smith is what they wanted who's to say I don't locksmith can locksmith or insured with a higher level of insurance than a locksmith. I'd say below average because the manager Lonny need a brake check in customer service and learn to get all his information straight before calling someone a lier.

Very rude and poor customer service. I was getting phone calls and messages asking me when I was moving into my paid for unit. I called to explain my situation and was told I needed to move into it before someone else did...? Who moves their stuff into strange units and it should show as rented in their system so it shouldn't be rented twice...? It's "employee owned" apparently but I was told they would continue to harass me until I moved in. I closed my unit...I have enough going on in life then to be harrassed by some crazies at some storage place over my paid for unit. I bet they get real rude and aggressive with you if you're a day late but to be harrassed over a unit that is paid up is BS. Never doing business with this location ever again

The facility advertised access to the unit until 10pm. I showed up at 7 pm last night and couldn't get in. Multiple other people stopped by in the 2 hours I was waiting and they were also upset they couldn't get in. I need to drop things off at 7 tonight and the office told me I wouldnt be able to get in and there is nothing they can do. I have had my money scammed away and am a full time college student and full time worker. I have to sleep in my car until I can get my money back from the man that scammed me. I will not be able to sleep in my car and will have no place to sleep tonight unless I can put my things in the storage unit. I would never have gotten the unit from u haul if they had informed me the hours werent as advertised. The staff told me there is nothing the can do.

I have one complaint. I move from one state to another. Rented a uhaul and a storage unit. When we got to the destination to unpack the uhaul, the storage we rented was not available. They only had one other storage available for 50 more. So we had no choice but to get it. They would discount the storage unit to the reserved price which I thought was bad business. It was reserved and they should have honored the price. Luckily they had 1 larger unit. Not sure what we we have done if they had no units.

On more than one occasion I encountered homeless persons hanging out at the UHaul location where I have rented 2 storage units. Not only were they hanging out outside the UHaul storage units, they were going in and out of a unit in which it seemed that multiple males were living in the unit. All of which makes me extremely uncomfortable to continue to rent my units for multiple reasons. First, I usually visit my units alone bringing safety to the fore front of my concern. Secondly, the risk factor of theft and fire.

I reserved a unit online for longs park facility with 24 hour access, but when I went to office to get set up I was told there were no 10x10 units available at that location. I had to take one in a different location that was in doors. I don’t understand why it even lets you make a reservation if you’re not going to be guaranteed the unit.

I was given one storage unit, only to find it was already occupied. When I went to the office to sort it out, the staff member was exceptionally rude because it was “close to closing.” He gave a another unit, across town, that turned out to also already be occupied. At that point, the office was closed and I had to find alternative storage because I didn’t have time to wait until morning because I had to be out of my house by the next day.

The customer service was never on par, in the whole time we rented from them. Was never able to get an answer to any questions by employees. We would always need to speak with a manager and the manager was never available and rarely returned phone calls. Then was extremely rude when dealing with him at the counter.

I think I upset the manager when I parked my vehicle and trailer but I needed to unload into the storage unit before I turned the trailer in. I had a storage reservation and needed to check in. He was very busy and did get a little irritated with me but everything turned out great....

Took 20 minutes to do the paperwork and my unit was full of empty boxes. Another 20 minutes of paperwork to get a unit miles away. Then I had to go back to the 1st place to return the trailer. It took 3.5 hours to get the wiring harness in the Springs. 10 minute job.
