Customer service leaves much to be desired. There are probably understaffed to begin with, so I would imagine that the existing personnel can only do so much. But attitudes are disinterested and disengaged at best. Don't even bother trying to reach customer “service” by phone. I waited for the next available associate for almost five minutes before a human picked. I told him I only needed to change my pick up time. I wasn't able to navigate the online process. He told me that I would have to be connected to another person and put me back on hold. I waited another seven minutes before I heard a click, thinking that someone had picked up, I said, “Hello” and got no response, then a couple of seconds later the line went dead, and my phone screen read, “Call ended”. Wasn't impressed with face to face interactions either. Finally, I can't believe your policy regarding a late, incomplete online drop-off. I was informed that if I had done so, I would be charged for twenty (!) days of the daily rental rate. As I said before, I was already having trouble with the online system, and I have to assume that trying to call and sort out any problems would not be a reasonable option. That sends a terrible message to customers.

The truck transmission slipped the whole time and the check engine light came on while driving it. The transmission jolted forward when we went to put it in reverse almost sending us in the marsh! I tried calling the 1800gouhaul and the local number and all it gave me was options for on the road break downs accident etc. no option to speak to someone regarding mechanical issues. When we brought it back the gentleman used every excuse under the sun of what we were possibly doing wrong. Stating we will take it for a test drive and check it out!

I don't want to give the location a bad rating because overall they were very helpful, but I have been on hold now for 40 minutes and spoken to two representatives about a verified overcharge and I can't get it resolved because there's no one in customer service to help me. Please take care of the overcharge or I will have to unfortunately make really bad reports on my service from U-Haul which is frustrating because overall it was a really good experience until now

After the hitch came in I set an appointment and missed it. But no one called on the day of the appointment either way. Once I rescheduled they told me To come at 8 but didn't start until 9. Then called me at 12:20 to say it was done. Then when I showed up to pick the car up they said do you want the ball on? So I had to wait to get the ball put on. Why not ask me that at 12:20 when they called and said it was done. Just not very reliable service here. Nice facility.

For a trailer from 1991, it was in pretty good shape. It served it's purpose in helping me move and I will rent from here again. The only issue I had was that I had originally rented from New Haven on state st. They transferred me here because they said they didn't have a trailer available, however all weekend on state st in new haven, there sat four of them. I was wondering why I was told they didn't have one available there when clearly they sat there all weekend.

The check engine came on when we were 60 miles away. The Uhaul was $20.00. to rent and the milage cast us $180, rediculious.

Get consistent on the on line quote and actual costs. Explain at time of pick up how much each mile will cost and to return vehicle slightly above gas gauge we picked it up at. People at this facility were extremely professional and nice. I was just caught off guard by the cost at the end.

The local retail Guilford UHaul store is very well run and I can't say enough good things about the staff. However the 2 encounters I had with corporate support staff over the the phone and via the chat app on the website were nothing short of disappointing. 30 minutes to speak to a live person on the phone who could ultimately offer no help is unacceptable.

Unfortunately I left my drivers license inside the location at pick up. After six hours of attempting to reach a live voice at the Guilford office I gave up. This included 5-6 phone calls which were forwarded to the central office as well as i was given the managers contact information which was invalid . No one answers the phone, there's no way to get in touch with a human voice at the Guilford office.It's is on call forward all day ,very frustrating and no response to an email as well! Fortunately I retrieve my license the following day but it certainly would've been nice to spoken to somebody confirming that it was in safe hands. Otherwise the U-Haul rental was perfect

The truck was on empty at pickup and had damage, it was supposed to have 1/4 tank. We picked the truck up the day everyone was panicking about gas and stations had none. We put gas in and returned the truck just under a half tank and we were told we wouldn't be reimbursed, That's absurd considering the circumstances. I would not recommend uhaul to anyone again, I've never had such a terrible experience. It's also really difficult to get an actual person Over the phone. I'll be reporting this to consumer protection.

I initially had difficulty because the hitch UHaul ordered for me, never arrived, even after a month! I ordered my hitch from ETrailer and it arrive five days later. I asked UHaul to install the hitch and they agreed to install it same day within five hours. The UHaul rep. who installed my hitch was a huge improvement over the previous UHaul reps. who never bothered to follow up on my hitch order through UHaul.

Both the in person service at both pick up and drop off were positive and fantastic. The ONLINE check-in that was recommended by text I would rate poor. It wasted 30 minutes of my time....did not want to upload the license. Get rid of it please or fix it.
