I rate the location high but the Company NO... I was quoted one price, then charged another.. 1st location rent it before we got there, 2nd location never heard of and the last one rented us a trailer they couldn't find so they had to redo paper work for one they could locate... I called ahead a week in advance to reserve a storage unit for the 15ft truck I was renting. Then when I showed up they didn't have any record of my reservation and had sold out of the available size. They tried to offer me two smaller units but it wasn't enough to fit my materials. Was not able to access MY stuff needed and caused anxiety attack with my autism. The counter lady was not friendly at all. She gave short answers and was more interested in interacting with the other employees than the customer. I went in on two separate days and Jasmine was amazing. Every customer in the store thought she was great and she created a wonderful environment. She was friendly and had an understanding of everything going on. To put it simply, this was a terrible experience. I had a reservation to pick up at 8 am and return the next morning at another location. Upon my husband arriving, Laurie Ziegler informed him that they didn't have a truck available but actually they did but they really needed the truck and was convincing us not to rent it. He disagreed and she reluctantly gave us the truck and asked to have it back by noon but then said 4 pm. Again, I had a 24 hour rental paid for already. This is ridiculous. She then cancelled the contract I already had to make a new one. Now I already paid but she made a new reservation. The truck was filthy sand in it and we were reminded again to turn it in clean. Upon returning the truck another employee said we would need to call the 800 number to get a refund and would be emailed the new invoice. All in all this is an experience I would not recommend to anyone and I had in the past. Get your reservations to mean something and provide basic customer service. Waited about 30 minutes for someone to help hook up the auto transport trailer so had to ask for help, was questioning the condition of the ball coupler during the employee's hook up , so my better half video'd it, when we went to load the car, the trailer popped off the hitch ball which could have caused a major disaster on the highway.CHRISTOPHER C.

When asked how long the rental was for, the answer was "anytime", not mentioning after 6 hours it doubles the price. While reserving it online, my total was $30.00, which I thought was a good deal. No mention of all the extra cost. I would have kept it at 6 hours would I have known that. No recommendations from me, only an explanation of what happened.MAXWELL W.

The entire rental experience for this rental was horrible. I was bounced TWICE to new locations to rent a pickup and ended up here with a cargo van. I wasted time and miles going between locations to finally get this rental almost an hour behind schedule. Then the app won't work at this location since the Verizon signal is so weak. Then when I tried to work with customer service to seek resolution I spent over 90 minutes on the phone trying to find a person to help me.Christopher J.
U-Haul confirmed they had a 26' truck waiting for me the day I went down to pick it up. When I got there the people there said there wasn't one in the state. All they could offer was a 20' truck. They also did not honor a discount I had been told by U-Haul I had on my 26' truck. I called U-Haul while I was there and after an incredibly long wait to talk to someone they still thought a 26' truck was there. I had them call the location and they found out there wasn't one. The U-Haul person disconnected our call after talking to them and never contacted me. Exceptionally incredible that U-Haul as a long established business doesn't know what trucks are at their locations and does not honor their commitments.. The employees at the pick up location were very nice but unable to help me by contacting U-Haul to help resolve this issue.Mark B.

They called me on Sunday and said it was supposed to be back by 8 am but I see nothing about this on the initial rental. I got it to the location within 20 minutes of the call. Drop off went fine then I was charged $38.55 extra with now warning or explanation. Tried to call, sat on hold for 15 minutes before I gave up that. Probably says somewhere in the fine print you are able to gouge me like this but it is pretty crappy to just charge my card like that.Mark R.

Your on line registration system is lacking. I had a reservation 2 weeks ago for a pickup that was never returned and reported stolen. I never received notice that there wasn't a truck available, so I went to the location and was told my reservation wouldn't be filled as they had no other trucks. The next week I made a reservation at another location and when I got there, they didn't have the truck I reserved, but again no notice. I went to the first location to see if they had a truck available, but unfortunately, they had just been hit by a hail storm and their computers were down. The woman that helped me was able to see on her hand held that the reservation I made was actually booked at that location, not the location I requested. She was very helpful in getting the reservation filled even though the computers were down. If you can't fill a reservation - either from a lack of inventory or by switching it to another location, you need to provide your customers with notice. The reservation system says that a representative will call, but that doesn't happen. I will unfortunately continue to use U Haul, as your competition isn't any better.John L.
We were never welcomed and no personal interaction when we got to the counter. No one walk us to the vehicle and inspected it with us. When I dropped the vehicle off they just ignored me. Team was extremely unprofessional, moving my appointment to an earlier time and only notifying me by an email the evening before. They then told me my car would not be ready until after the location closed. When I kept asking why, the customer service rep finally told me the person working on my car put it back together in a way that prevented the exhaust from going back in place correctly. I was then told I had to pay at that moment since they would not be there after close and the person working on it would not be able to process my payment. When I finally got my car back, they told me they could not connect the electrical components as they could not open the hood of my car and there were pieces missing (the hitch ball needed) so I would have to shop around for a replacement. The wiring was left taped to the wheel well under my car. Not once did I receive an apology from the customer service team, only the person working on my car for the fact that updates were not communicated with me until pressed.Emily D.

I had to make 4 trips to this location to eventually have my hitch installed. First visit was scheduled through the on-line app to book an appt. I left the car on my appt day and got a call in the afternoon that there was no part - the inventory system was a mess. Rescheduled for a week later - same issue. Rescheduled for 2 weeks later and told part would be there. It was not and the manager had moved my appointment days out another week without any notification or request to me to do so. When I arrived 8/31, I was told the wrong part arrived and I may have to reschedule yet again. Fortunately someone working checked another store, found a part in stock and went to get it and they got my car done by 6:15 pm that day. How to improve - check parts the prior day of a customer visit. if not there yet, then notify the customer - don't waste customer time coming repeatedly to the store only to tell them then that the part is not there or someone rescheduled their appointment and they were never notified. The tmobile cell reception at this location is horrible. I was trying to use the mobile app. I switched to the uhaul guest wifi, but the it seemed to have a issue determining the location. Finally, the return process did not work because it would not accept the upload of the odometer image. I tried at least 10 times. Mobile concepts are good, but there is no recourse or instruction for what to do when the happy path does not work. Your app designers can do better.JAY G.

The store manager made the process much longer by giving my car transport to someone else even though I had the reservation for it; which resulted in me having to pick one up at a different location. Also, when I went to pick it up they could not find the keys for the 10' truck I reserved. I had to drive back and forth in my personal vehicle while they had a new key made. The lady at the reception was not friendly. She gave me the equipment that I didn't asked gor and charged for it . 12 blankets and a small tolly. I clearly told her I made the selections ans she was not ready to cancel or give a refund for the extra equipment I didn't ask for. Other employees told her to leave a mote and process the refund. Your self checkin is one of the most miserable online experiences I've ever had. In addition, the fact that the local number just funnels into your national phone desk is a huge turnoff. Customer service was great at the storage location and it is a good deal with the first month free; however after the first month anything bigger than a 5 X 5 is very expensive. I will pay over $185/mn for my 10 X 10. The other problem I had with the physical location was how hot it was in the storage facility. The A/C was on but it felt very warm when we were moving our items in the unit. UHaul can make the temperature more comfortable for their movers in the facilities. Customer service on the phone was awful with long wait times, disconnection, drop off location confusion, and poor willingness to clear up the problem. This was all a huge mess. I reserved (2) 15’x10’ storage units to arrive at the site and find (6) 5’x10’ units as if that is the same thing. Things do not fit as well into smaller areas, and they cost me more for the same space. The general manager of this location did nothing to make it better and I was unable to ever even get ahold of him. The general manager also seems to be a bit of a gate keeper so it is a bigger issue than it might otherwise be. The staff is super helpful when they have the power to be, but getting the proper price rate is not in their ability to provide. I failed to get ahold of him for 8 weeks while I was renting those 6 storage units. I was told that he was the only one that could honor the price I was quoted when reserving online. 6 office visits (he never works) and 3 unreturned voicemails later, I overpaid by a couple hundred dollars, so I don’t really care about how clean the facility or friendly the staff is, they can’t get it above average. The manager had told me he would price match my unit. However, the process required a minimum of 3 calls a month to make payment due to all of the approvals I had to go through. I got lien notices almost every month due to the managers delay. I did not enjoy my time at uhaul. Probably won’t ever rent from uhaul again. I found storage rates at $66 for a indoor 10x10. First, Id like to say that the manager, Durrell, was awesome! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, each of the three times I encountered him, and he's the reason I'm choosing above average. One of those times, involved a problem. He was incredibly busy that day, but didn't let that affect his level of service. We pay attention to customer service. Good service can be so hard to find, especially when tips aren't involved. Honestly, 3 of the above questions should be made into two, because the facility can be secure, but not well lit. Staff can be helpful, but not friendly. A question pertaining to safety should be added as well. The code to access the building containing the storage unit did not work on either of the two occassions we needed to access the unit in the early evening.David C. | Overall Experience
For a few years, we were very satisfied with U-Haul. For the past few months, the security system has not been fully functional. We have not been able to have after-hours access and exits/entrances have not being fully monitored/tracked making us trust the security less than before. We found another facility with a jumbo storage unit equal to the size of our 2 large U-Haul units, costing $160 less per month than U-Haul, and with fully functioning security plus after-hours access. Unfortunately, U-Haul did not cancel our units when requested. We moved out, cleaned our units, removed our locks, and cancelled our units in early Feb 2021. It took repeated attempts through mid-March to get the charges and late fees to stop being charged to us. I rated overall experience "Average" based on our early years. Most of the staff are "Average" or lower and a few are "Poor" but there is one manager who is "Above Average" and he was very helpful to us. Issue was that people parked truck in a way which took up two lanes/spaces in loading/unloading area/dock. When it was reported, noone made them correct it. We had a death in the family on 11/24. We called before being billed for next month and asked if the month would be pro rates if we moved out 4 days late. We were told by GM we would get credit for the days from 12/5 to 12/29. When we went to the facility on 12/4 Durrell told us no proration was allowed. Every time I've had dealings with this facility its been a train wreck . I purposely drive out of the way to patronize other stores rather than go here. Due to past experiences ,I prohibited my business from using this location since 2009. A sudden and temporary need during a recent move made using this location most convenient . Maybe it was just a fluke day, but again- train wreck. There was a new store manager starting and the tension was thick. The cashier wanted the new manager to process our order but he said he didn't know how. He didn't real seem interested in learning. She rolled her eyes and had obvious contempt for him. We were told the storage unit building was open until 10 and given an access code . I confirmed we would be able to access the unit after the office closed since we had required trips that would happen after 5pm. We were supposed to get an access card but was told the machine was down . When we returned later with a load of material ~5ish the entry code we had been given would not work. The manager was just leaving and was obviously distressed. I explained we had to get into the unit so we could complete our move. He said he didn't know how to get in and that he had had " a long day I wouldn't be able to understand". I explained that me not getting into my unit was not an option. He said he had master keys at home and it would take him 1.5 hrs to go get them . I tried to troubleshoot options with him asking who else may have keys, etc but he got very emotional and said in frustration " Fine! I'll go all the way home and get my keys !" then recklessly sped away from the lot. To quote my stoic 18 year old son who was helping me " That was CRAZY." I did receive a call about an hour later from the manager who informed me his assistant lived close by and would come let me in. This happened. THANK YOU . A gentleman on a motorcycle showed up and happily let me in. Very professional . He explained I was not only not given an access card, I was not given proper instructions on how to operate the security system. The delay resulted in my moving crew leaving , forcing me to complete the 3-man load by myself - about 4 hrs of solo work for me. As your manager complained to me about his day, he had no perspective that I had been up for about 27 hours at that point, working in the smoke filled summer heat , and had an 11 hour truck drive to complete before my day would be over. It wasn't a minor inconvenience. All told, not being able to get in my unit cost me about 6hrs and $225 in wasted labor. The insinuation by tone and body language that this was " my problem" is just the cherry on top of a horrible experience. The facility is nice, clean, safe, and conveniently located - yet every-time its a cringe worthy ordeal. 3 for 3. At least they are consistent. Around 2005 they made my 74 year old mother cry ( really) over a $12 lock she couldn't get the key to turn in due to a sticking mechanism. Then, in the last experience they smugly charged me an extra day rent on a truck for being 13 minutes late after i waited in line IN THEIR LOBBY for 50 minutes to return the keys. This is only the 4th customer survey I've completed for ANY business in the last 10-15 years. I would avoid this place like the plague.jason c. | Overall Experience

Everything worked out but it seemed there were issues with the computer system or program. It was extremely slow. My original 10'x15' storage unit reservation disappeared when I cancelled the truck.
