We got there at 6:45pm to put items in storage. I was given an access code. Went to put gas in the truck. Came back at 7:15pm and the access code didn't work. So the gate wouldn't open. Currently I have been working with 4 other storage facilities and finding them extremely stressful. Losing sleep stressful. Hoffman Estates UHaul is far and away the best. Staff was not only friendly but repeatedly helpful, even though they have a help-wanted sign up in the window so you know they must be strained to some extent. Equitment always clean and well maintained. Pick up was horrendous, 1 employe working on a busy Saturday morning. Made us redo all of the pre pick up paperwork that was done in the app. Almost damaged my vehicle while hooking up the trailer. Employe was rude and yelling at me while hooking trailer up. Site was not prepared for my trailer rental and had to wait for him to get it out of a corner of there yard that they store them in. During drop off different Employe there way better very helpful and polite made returning an absolute breeze.Robert H.

I like to say that the first man that took care of us was nice and friendly and did his job very professionally and I asked him do I owe anything else and he said no just come back on Friday between 10:00-10:45 and we will help you put the car tow without any cost so we return on Friday and the man that took care of my husband was very mean and so rude and said if you don't pay additional 70 for someone putting on the car tow then you can't have it and my husband tried to explain what 😮 the man said from previous day and got nowhere and still so rude. So we went to the back to get it connected to the truck and the man waiting for us was also rude and kind of mean but at the end he did say have a safe trip so I guess he made up for being not so nice I guess a morning attitude plus on Friday not enough of help so going forward hopefully never have to deal with Hoffman Estates again prefer to go elsewhere. I had a question about the trailer prior to picking it up. The 800 number customer service girl was horrible. I called the Hoffman Estates store direct and talked to Moe. Upon delivering the truck , we were told that it was already delivered and we were charged in excess mileage !! Looks like the wrong van was delivered to us although I verified the mileage on odometer and the paper was matching .!! Might need to train the associates to avoid issues of this sort .SUNI T.

But first of all it's sad when you have been with U-Haul for over 3 years in a storage unit and yes you have made your payments of several times late but always paid the late payment and then you get a new person in there and they badger you for over 45 minutes and threatened to sell your unit letting you know that they have been in your unit and letting you know that you had quite a few very nice things that would sell off and overly pay your unit and you're trying telling her that you called in to tell her that you it would be Thursday before you could pay your unit and she still tells you that's too bad your unit will be going up for auction and there's nothing that you could do about it you can't stop it and so then you literally lose control and then you get put out I think you're a slime scum and I would never recommend anybody to rent from U-Haul ever again due to the fact that I just two or three of your employees and management to boot that's sad very sadmarcie m. | Overall Experience

Jerry was awesome and even shared a better solution for us as we really needed a ground level backup offload to store our goods and that was with his colleagues at Irving Park near Carol Stream where we are moving temporary so this need to store goods easy in and easy out with ground level. At that location Angie Ortiz couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Both locations are top tier in my book. Concierge Level Service (is TM by employer AIG Private Client Group) but fitting and of that standard none the less. By far the worst experience EVER! Horrible customer service, nobody ever knows what's going on, Tyler the GM is rude and can't pretend to care about anything. The facility is wet and filled with vermin, I had rat droppings everywhere. Please let me touch on the fact half of my stuff is missing out of my unit, and I have someone else's. I closed my unit in April of 2021, was charged every month there after until they auctioned my empty unit and tried to charge me with a 2,000 bill. There are so many issues. Apparently we all sign a waiver allowing Uhaul to cut our locks and enter the unit for necessary upkeep or maintenance requirements to and for the actual unit. They emailed me and never called or left an auto voicemail and I didn't get the email so thats that. Then I see they moved around my stuff damaging a few items. I figured not worth the hassle filing a claim. Lastly I forgot to close out my account and called in 1 week later when I saw I was charged for the next month.
