Train more staff to help at the counter during peak times. I came at a busy time, when several folks dropped in without appointments. The gentleman who was servicing us did a super job. There were other employees there, but they were not trained to help in that way. I understand that the role of checking folks in, getting the contacts solidified, and processing payments is more demanding. Miguel did a great job of helping me get hooked up and on the road. We ran into a snafu with a lighting connector, which he resolved in minutes. Amazing. My experience was, and had always been, exceptional at this location. It is managed well and it shows. First, I'm not sure how the time window was selected but it was not what I booked, allowing us only a 4 hour window to move instead of the 10 hours I'd requested while booking. Then because we didn't pick it up "on time" even though we had an Anytime 24/7 reservation, our rental was cancelled. When we arrived and set up a new rental, the safe mover charge was added, not explained and not presented as optional. Luckily we won't be moving again anytime soon because we would not be coming back too quickly.Lucas S.

Disappointed that I booked the largest unit over the phone and found that the size was unavailable when I arrived with my load. Had to accept a smaller unit because my movers were there with a load on their truck. This U-Haul location makes doing business so easy. I just call in; drive in; get hooked up...and out I go. Supper simple. I had a hitch, but they also set me up with a tongue and ball; had a corroded electrical connect so the cleaned and tested it: needed to be hooked up but they took responsibility to hitch it exactly as required. All I had to do was say thank-you and shake their hand. :) Quite happy with the experience.craig D.

Central Uhaul changed my truck type and changed my rate without permission. I was ok with a bigger truck but not at $300 more. It took the local guy over 30 minutes to get the billing straightened out. You need to include booking/online as an option to review also.Mark K.

The truck we received had significant issues with the brakes - squealing so loudly that people following me in another vehicle could hear them in their car. It did not feel safe. In addition, the cable pully system that operates the back door of the truck was tangled up and so we were not able to shut the door when transporting our items. This also did not feel safe.Sara J.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating, answering all questions even while busy with other duties. The facility was clean and well-maintained. My only complaint would be that the security system was not very intuitive. PLEASE purchase at least one DEDICATED hand cart for Building A. It's not that much of an investment.. Having to constantly borrow a hand cart from Building B is such an inconvience so I won't bother to return "borrowed" hand carts until this deficiency is corrected by management. We rented a storage unit for a few months while we had some working going on at home. We wanted a climate controlled unit that would not get mice or bugs. The U-Haul unit met our needs. The unit was clean and in good condition. We put a few sticky traps inside just in case something got in. The man that served me was rude. First impressions, I turn up with a truck after just moving out of Chicago , tired , my truck rolled into the grass slightly. I walk inside and he Dosent even greet me and just says “is that your truck on my grass , you best move it”. I then asked if there is a storage shed close to the door , he says no and puts me in one that all the way at the end, just to make it difficult. The screen said there were heaps available. I was supposed to get the first month free and when I said I am supposed to get the first month free he says “I don’t see any record” and I said I’ll just bring the email up and then he says “too late I’ve already charged you and I don’t know how to reverse it” ! I’m stunned at his rudeness. Then when he gives me a security code to enter the facility we go to test it and it fails then we try again and fails. The he said oh well and walks away. I said excuse me , what am I supposed to do, he said oh the system is down. I said well I need a security code that works and he said it’s fine you can just put up with the annoying sound. The check in was so bad , unprofessional , he didn’t wear a mask , I was disgusted !! I tried to call Day the manager but she didn’t answer.Patrick C. | First Impressions

I reserved a unit several weeks before my move. Then, while in the middle of a stressful move, I received several phone calls from U-Haul warning me that my unit was available to be rented online and if I did not rent it, I might lose it. This caused me a lot of stress and it seems U-Haul needs to fix its reservation system. If I have reserved a unit, it should not be available for any random person online to rent.
