Ok. 1st and foremost lets address the elephant in the room. Hawaii has a limited amount of space. That correlates to vehicles, housing etc. Etc.. Now we established that their is a "Local Economy" such as your know like actual state residents who need to utilize your services. That's pretty much why this company was established here on the islands. Its super frustrating to go through a illegal eviction and then trying to find a vehicle to allow that evicted person to relocate to a new residence but cannot because all the tourists are cheap bastards who give 0 shots about anyone else but themselves. As a AMERICAN company this should never be allowed. Why not just change the name from U-haul to we-gentrify. I was fortunate enough to get this employee (forgot his name) who is a legit local who gave aloha to my wife and I and did everything's in his power to take care of us. Short and simple make us local natives a priority when renting or offering your services. That's my 2 cents.KRISTOPHER N.

No one helped us for 45 minutes. The Environmental charge was not communicated before the final price. Also be prepared to be charged for the vehicle, mileage, and any and every drop of fuel you use.TRINITY N.
About 1/2 mile from the the nearest bus stop. Rental truck was not ready as stated in the contract. Was about a 3 hour wait for the next available pickup truck so I settled for a van. Equipment was clean and new. Very pleased with my rental experience.Bruce K.

Understaffed. Although your workers are very personable, they're not making sure that the customer is being acknowledged. Almost like were bothering them and they would rather avoid communications unless they had to. But maybe that's how and hey, i keep coming back.Hope M.

When making the reservation I was told that I could park my vehicle on the lot but that was not the case. The person that checked me in was very rude, told me to find parking on the street only customers that rent storage units can park there. I also was told that if I didn't return it within 6 hrs I would be charged another days rate and a late fee. This is probably the worst Uhaul location. The truck I was given had no gas in it luckily I made it back on fumes. I reserved it a day before and I was given a truck with barely a quarter tank of gas. Nothing in the truck really to help you when your moving stuff except a dolly. I needed ratchet straps more but again luckily I had my own. No parking, you have to park on the street and risk homeless breaking into your ride. So expensive, I was reserved for 39 dollars which they advertise but it ended up being 169 and I only had it for 2 hours. They put more gas in the truck than when they gave it to me and charged my card to fill it up. I would never recommend this location to anyone.Jeremy F.

Good customer service to be aware this location is busy. When arriving Rechelle help me wasn't busy super quick. When returning the U-Haul the next morning was busy (normally is) Derek greet me inside and was quick on giving my receipt. Just be patient for this location because it does get busy quick at times, plan ahead, also you will get great customer service. Now the truck may need alignment.FELICIA W.

Marcie went out of her way to rent me the U Haul van she was using for work, because that location was short on long term availability of trucks and vans. Without a larger vehicle to use for my handyman business, while my truck was being fixed, I would have lost money. I expect a significant credit for putting my life in danger. The truck drove like a wreck. 1) When you apply the brakes the entire vehicle vibrates violently including the steering wheel from side to side. It swerves, brakes unevenly between the 4 wheels. When you are coming close to a stop there is a loud squeeling squeeking sound consistent with the vibration frequency coming from the front of the vehicle. This condition is consistent with a severely warped brake disc rotor. I'm guessing the one associated with front right wheel. 2) The truck howls or whines like it's wearing 4 snow tires, which is a bit scary since it doesn't have snow tires on it. Are there bearings about to collapse - who knows - it's alarming. I tried to alert you to this condition 4 ways so far a) on your website there is an email link web page. on click submit nothing happens. Your site does not accept the message. b) same problem when on the order attempting to send same message by the roadside assistance link. c) when i returned the equipment the man receiving it did not want to hear anything about the problem. He replied the brakes were perfect but acknowledged a seawater flooding issue that might affect brake operations and told me the only way to report this was by a claim after returning the vehicle. d) by this message. you know, when you call in you get sent round and round and put on endless hold waiting. Why do you make it so hard to get in touch with you? This really looks bad when one of your vehicles has not been minimally maintained - is dangerous.Robin G.

The POS system rejected my credit cards multiple times, and the onsite team blamed me for not having enough money available on my credit card. Upon further review with the Uhaul IT department, and with onsite staff unaware, an upgrade was made to the POS system that caused the credit card decline. The agent was able to process my credit card with the â€œolderâ€ system. This was very frustrating as the onsite staff repeatedly blamed me for not having sufficient funds on my credit card or perhaps I booked the reservation incorrectly. The internal uhaul IT department should have communicated this upgrade to all sites. The on site staff should not blame the customer for not having sufficient funds on all their credit cards. Not sure how to fix this, but it needs to be fixed asap.Abel R.

The guy receiving the vehicle started off bad and sounded like a complete jerk when we asked if we could use a broom to clean the truck. . . . then he became super nice and made up for the slow start. Parking for employees only, no consideration for customers. Also, No sanitation sprays visible. The check out APP malfunctioned and I was told the employee would "take care" of me if an issue arrised upon return. Problems did surface and I paid extra charges. Employee, would not put her mask on over her nose, even when asked. She wanted to use my phone, did not respect social distance. It was obvious the establishment did not enforce ANY covid safety precautions. The hand sanitizer was EMPTY, the bathroom was diplorable, standing puddles of water? On the floor. The truck wasn't shifting well and the engine needed serviced. Go ANYWHERE else.Schon H.

Made appointment for self service check in for a Saturday and the website said it was closed for Easter so I was forced to rent for another day. Registered online for a truck plus furniture blankets, uploaded my drivers license and paid via credit card. It was not available at my preferred location so i was called by a female representative and told to go to another location which was fine. I mentioned that I already registered and paid online and asked if self serve was still available. Rep said for me to go inside and check in. However when I spoke to the gentleman at the counter he said I was all ready to go for self service check in and I could have saved 20 minutes. I mentioned that the rep on the phone told me to come in, which the gentleman said was incorrect and I did not have to. Also, I wanted to return the truck the next day, which just happened to be Easter. The website said the location was closed for Easter, however again the gentleman at the counter said that was incorrect that they were in fact open and I could drop it off as long as it's within 24 hours. I finished my move and returned the truck within 24 hours and since the office was not opened yet a worker there said to simply put the keys in the drop box. Upon receiving my receipt through email I noticed I was still charged an additional day. Called the location and they said it was checked in 3 hours after my 24 hour period, which I declined and said I dropped the keys before the office was open which was within the 24 hour period, the vehicle was probably processed 3 hours after my drop off. Nevertheless, billing was fixed and I was credited the extra day. Thanks for letting me leave feedback. While there was some hiccups the people working at the location cleared everything up with great customer service.RICHARD K.

The U-Haul rep called me immediately after my online reservation attempt, and found me a U-Haul location that had a vehicle available for me to use. (This was after I spent 1.5 hours on the phone w/3 different Home Depots trying to rent a truck - shortages due to COVID and tourism rentals) I may still use Home Depot because they have unlimited mileage on their rental trucks (U-Haul charges for mileage above their advertised flat rate); however, I will now keep U-Haul on hand as the more reliable place to rent from. And their check-out/return by phone with pictures is easy and fun to use. Thanks much!Sally M.

I asked about fuel upon return..."just make sure the guage reads the same upon return.". I drove eleven miles and put 1-3/4 gallons in it. More than enough. They put 3 more in and charge me $12. It takes five gallons to drive 11 miles? When I returned he didn't ask me if I had put fuel in and i figured the gas guage couldn't have moved. Only $12 bucks, but not happy when I know I actually put in more fuel than I used, then got charged extra.Kurt H.
