The staff at the front desk was helpful and accomodating, howefer, the check in process is very difficult as the wifi is not good and the process took long. The person who I cehcked the vehicle in upon return was rude and not accomodating as I had several questions regarding my bill.

It had nothing to do w the truck it was great My problem was hiring lazy ass black men and leaving with the truck half full every day. I still Ned to hire a new team to get this done.

I did not have a reservation and the attendant couldn't be bothered to take my information and get me registered for the rental. I had to do a call in verification with a call center instead of the guy checking out my ID himself. They also had to call another 3rd person which was a difficult thing to orchestrate in real time. I requested a van or regular truck and the guy said that they were not available even though there were 6 vans and one truck in the lot. It was close to closing time so there was no way someone was picking them up that evening. When I told him that I was just picking up a few things and could have the van back that night he straight up looked at me and told me that he doesn't trust me. When I finally got my first truck I got in and found that there was no gas and the light was on. I told the guy that I wasn't going to go driving down the road and run out of gas and he told me that all of them were out of gas so I was going to have to go take a photo of the gas light on to show him even though I had just told him. All in all is was a terrible experience. I have rented several trucks from uhaul and always brought them back in the same condition I took them or better. Between the high price for this rental and the very poor service I think I will be looking elsewhere for rentals going forward.

I was pleased with the service and pick up process. However, U-Haul is not transparent enough about the mileage costs. I rented the cargo van and went a total of 38 miles but somehow it was quoted as 60 miles which is impossible. U-Haul should provide a quote for 20 miles, 40 miles, 60 miles etc. it seems the company is vague when this should be noted upfront.

Yes when you go online to reserve a truck you are given one price then when they charge you it's something totally different. I was given a total of $42 at checkout but then when I dropped the key off I was charged $62 and extra 20 dollars. Prices are not accurate

I had one of my worst days in my life, I woke up late for my appointment show up 2hrs late the person running the counter was kind and got me into a truck. unfortunately, the movers I hired through U-Haul website called me and said they were running late I told them no problem I woke up late my self, they said they could be there by 4pm. I said no problem. During the rest of the day my I-Phone is locked the message read "I-Phone Locked to Owner" witch means I can not make calls but I can receive them, because of my phone I cannot contact the movers because they did not show up. I cannot move because I was just out from the hospital due to having my toe amputated, and no movers. when returning the U-Haul driving only 2 miles I was charged $90 I have no phone to see If I can get my money back for the movers that never showed up? and I can't leave my email

The agent told me a story about a woman having to pay for a door, scaring me into purchasing insurance for $30, I paid for it, the estimate had $90, and NOT a half a tank of gas. Both were wrong. They corrected the gas, but did not say in the estimate $30 per day vs. $90, which I asked to be corrected. I wasn't going to drive on Easter, and I did not needed an extra day of insurance. I had the car for only two days and they tried to charge me for three. Please correct this IMMEDIATELY.

I give a low rating because my original reservation was with U-Haul at 13456 Washington Blvd., Marina Del Rey, CA. The truck I had reserved over a week in advance was not available - in fact, no trucks were available. I only had one day to move my daughter since I was in town for the day from out of town. Eventually I was able to get my reservation transferred to U-Haul at 964 S. La Brea. That operation was excellent, but I ended up paying for extra mileage, several hours for manpower I could not use while searching for a truck, and the dollies I had originally reserved were not available at S. La Brea. Very inefficient process and much more expensive than planned.

The retail association, Dani, was very knowledgeable, helpful and kind during our check-in process. Renting such heavy equipment is not common knowledge and he knew how to explain it all to us, very consistent with the verbal and visual directions. U-haul, I hope you appreciate workers like Dani!

Of the entire experience with this move I was happiest with this location. The guy outside was super helpful with the trailer and the manager was kind enough to let me use straps for the car tie downs after it was explained to me toy haulers don’t come with a toy hauler

Hire more professional employees who will not alter customers contracts & change the fuel adjustment to sales when I didn’t purchase anything. . I would like if U-haul would be more when hiring to avoid more issues like. I sincerely this is only an isolated incident. Employee needs to be re-trained.

VERY UNSATISFIED!!! I rented a Uhaul truck for my grandson to move into his new apartment I purchased the Safe-move Insurance. A truck hit the passenger side upper mirror and it broke. I was not distressed about it because I had the Insurance. Uhaul charged my credit card over $250.00 for the mirror. When I went to the LaBrea location from which I rented the truck, to make inquiry as to why I was charged because I purchased the insurance. The Manager Danny told me it was a $250.00 deductible I had to pay! I left and went to my car. I read the insurance and the only statement about a possible deductible was regarding if the vehicle hit an overpass. We went back into U-Haul and pointed this out to Danny. He tried desperately to explain away what was clearly stated in the insurance policy. When we tired of hearing his ramblings we left. My next step was to contact my bank and dispute the charge from U-Haul. A few hours later I received an updated receipt which showed the bill had been reduced to $150.00. However, this is still unacceptable as I purchased the insurance to cover any damages.

Forcing customer to re-enter all information upon arrival that was already entered is completely frustrating and time consuming. Attendants were so eager to close that a dolly booking was overlooked and the truck was undersized and rented with no gas. No choice but to fill it up over ght removing any chance for exchanging vehicles for the desired size. Attitude of attendants could be much more helpful and professional.

The ceiling was falling because the unit next to us was empty and some one got in to my unit couple of time and they rant sack everything and stole valuables I reported it the first time and all I got was (we cannot do nothing ) I fixed and they jump the second time and again the front desk say that it’s out of there hands and there’s nothing they can do it was the worse experience , I really need it to keep renting but I had to move my stuff before some one keeps damaging it and taking what ever they want it

my things were stolen out of my storage. I was told that if I didn’t have insurance, there was nothing that your company could do. I’m very disappointed in U-Haul. I will never use his service again for Storage. There’s no compensation for what me and my family has lost. I believe it was inside job. There was too much time invested in opening my boxes and going through my things.. with no help from management only a guilty face.

Part of the ceiling was missing it had 2-rat traps in my unit I didn’t feel like my belongings were safe I took it because I moved from up north in a one way truck the unit I reserved on Vermont was given away and that was the only unit available and I had to get my things out the truck my place isn’t ready yet but I received a letter that the exterminator was going in once a month bad enough it was upstairs no elevator I had plenty of room in my unit but the way the stairs and the hallway was I couldn’t get my couch r my washer and dryer that’s why I rented a bigger room to make sure everything would fit that didn’t happen so I had to rent a room from someone to store my washer dryer and couch now all my things are together and out of that unit

Calvin and Yari (or whatever her name was). She was an older short lady were rude. I came in waited to he helped, Yari stated everyone was on lunch yet they all were sitting around talking about nothing. Calvin did the reservation and had rude tone the entire time as if I was bothering him. Compared to other locations, the customer service needs a big improvement. Also, there’s no where to park when unloading your stuff. They have trucks lined up in front of the doors and leave a one car spot for everyone to unload which is asinine.

I had originally arranged a few weeks in advance. I called to confirm a few days I have the time, the day before and the morning of 3 times. I was told that you Box would be there and ready and I was on a very tight schedule because I had other people helping me. When I arrived, there was no U Box. A woman working there was very rude I was a returning a truck and she wasn't helpful at all and actually started yelling at me and acting out. Because there was no U Box and I had to unload the truck to return Ito return it and get my stuff put away somewhere, I was forced to take the only thing available a 7 by 10 storage unit which costs twice as much as the U Box.. I was told there was nothing else available. I feel like I was hijacked and manipulated into doing this . I contact the owner but he was no help.

Person who’s shirt said he was the owner was not helpful at all. Said haul should not have made the reservation because they haven’t had that size unit in a long time. I ordered a 4x9 and he gave me a 7x7 a block away. When I looked at unit I was amazed at what they were passing off as safe storage units. Plywood walls and door with chicken wire for a ceiling.

The was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had not only with U-Haul but with any retail/rental establishment in my life. Not only was the U-box I reserved not available, I was told the only person who could drive the forklift and get it for me "Just left on a 2 hr. break". I was told it would be ready in the morning and I went at noon. The woman at the counter initial Retta was rude and nasty with a bad attitude. When I went in to return the vehicle and let her know that I had a U-box reserved, she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence and loudly demanded, "Did you check in?", I tried to speak, and she asked the same question again. When I explained that it was my first time at that location and I did not know what the procedure was, she continued to demand if I had checked in. As if, she could not give me further information unless I had checked in. I told her that was what I was trying to do and held up the paper work. She waved her hand that I had to check in-I assume she was pointing to some direction, but it was not clear. I told her I had not seen any signs explaining the procedure, she said, "they are all out there". So I walked out and saw signs on the far side of the lot. I could have just turned left out of the store door, had she told me, but I didn't know. So I walked to the end of the lot and followed the green signs around the lot to the check in area. There, I was told about the absent, U-box. A young man named Christopher took me inside to the counter to speak with Edwin. Who confirmed there was no U-box. I explained that I had tried to tell, Retta, but she was rude, cut me off and would not listen to me. At at that point, Retta started talking over me (even though she was with another customer and down the counter and I was talking to Edwin) She loudly continuiously chanted, "Oh I'm rude, she said I'm rude, well your're rude, oh I'm rude huh? I'am rude, she said I'm rude) on and on for at least 15 minutes. All the while, Edwin was trying to call another location to find available storage. Eventually, she left the counter. I had to people with me who only had a short amount of time to help me unload into my missing Ubox and check in the truck. With all the confusion, it took too long and I had not choice but to take any available storage unit at this location, so that I could unload the truck and my helpers could be on their way. I ended up having to pay for a storage space that is $199 per month. That is almost $90 more than a U-box! Then, with the delay, we still had to unload the truck and turn it in. It was a disaster and took much longer than it should have. Retta was horrible and has not people much less customer skills. There was no manager there to resolve the situation. When I called the manager the next day. He simply said, "I will speak to her". I am beyone upset about this. I feel taken advantage because I had to take the only thing available to me, since what I ordered and was promised I called the 800 number that morning to reconfirm it would be there when I arrived. So I'm stuck with paying more per month. This is just wrong. How can U-Haul do this to customers and treat customers this way?

After arriving at your U-haul on Fir the 23 Oct 2020. I had just drove 3 day from Florida too wait 30 minutes for counter service. Only one customer service person. I had to return my Vehicle tow and empty the truck BUT the pass key would not work! and they could not get it fixed. I have to return again today and try and empty my truck. I hope the key works. I was not aloud to leave the truck on the lot. ! I had to park on the street. I hope I don't have a ticket .

Local facility was great. The issues with U-Haul center around the ability to communicate with local facility due to centralized phone system, (that always takes forever to get a rep, even pre-COVID), and difficulty with on line presence.

You should tell customers at the moment of reservation for trucks that the appliances dolly is a 1st come 1st serve basis. I stored for almost a year and when I was ready to move my stuff I had to go rent a dolly from Home Depot. Thank you for everything.

I tried to call Ricardo Hernandez 4 times and he never called me back. I received a late fee for 20.99 and a Lien fee for 50,00 in less than 30 days. During this day and time during the Corona Virus / with an order to stay home I would think there would be some type of grace period. Not a place I wont to visit again or recommend.
