I had originally arranged a few weeks in advance. I called to confirm a few days I have the time, the day before and the morning of 3 times. I was told that you Box would be there and ready and I was on a very tight schedule because I had other people helping me. When I arrived, there was no U Box. A woman working there was very rude I was a returning a truck and she wasn't helpful at all and actually started yelling at me and acting out. Because there was no U Box and I had to unload the truck to return Ito return it and get my stuff put away somewhere, I was forced to take the only thing available a 7 by 10 storage unit which costs twice as much as the U Box.. I was told there was nothing else available. I feel like I was hijacked and manipulated into doing this . I contact the owner but he was no help.

Initially reserved a 9' cargo van at a different location, was rescheduled for a van at this location. Was given a cargo van which was dirty and damaged - not to the extent that it was not serviceable, but during the checkout process I was shown pictures of the van that clearly were before it had any damage and asked to confirm the van was clean which was frustrating given the state of the vehicle. Additionally, the TPMS sensor was malfunctioning and after pulling out of the lot it became evident that the left rear turn signal was not functional. All of this makes me question if this site performs a rudimentary safety inspection before renting heavy equipment. If something like a turn signal did not function, what are the odds that other, more critical systems were malfunctioning as well. The van did, however, get me and my cargo where we needed to go an back, and nothing broke, so 2/5 stars.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I booked two weeks in advance. I was later told my original U-Haul didn't have my 20 foot size of truck after all. Then one hour before pick-up, I was called and told I had to use a third location. When I got there , they didn't have that size either, so I had to take the size bigger, at great inconvenience. it turns out I was hooked into renting from you falsely,, as the first location NEVER has 20 footers, and the second rarely.. The third place was much further away, which cost me mileage, and did not even have it either! . Also, the App did not work, nor did it work on drop-off - so I wasted 20 minutes in line and 30 minutes setting up accounts and watching videos to try and understand it. I AM VERY UNLIKELY TO USE YOU AGAIN. Apalling and DISHONEST service.

The app to take the pictures I was unable to upload the pictures. The truck was dirty and let Steph know about how the truck was dirty but they weren't willing to change it for me for a cleaner one. The truck had dents and scratches from probably I don't know what scratch the paint and those did not have a cross indicating that there was damage to the truck and I believe that for the hours that I use the truck they charge me too much

the A/C was broken and it was 90 degrees out. I got a lot of hot air until 10 mins in, I gave up and did windows with hot sun beating though the window on me. Also the default I assume for rental was 5 pm when picked up at 1pm? when we picked up we asked the agent the return time and she said you said 5pm I said what happens if we are after, she said if 15 mins it's ok..I our rush to move I never read my texts. my text said 24 hours!!! did I have 24 hours? I would have rather not been stressed to return in the heat with broken AC if we had the time .

The window handle fell off as soon as I opened the truck door, and it smelled like cigarettes inside. The lot was darkly lit and I didn't feel safe there at all. Especially (and I shared this with staff at the location) when some guy with a black mask came lurking out of the back lot. The key drop off didn't match what was on the instructions and was also not lit well.

The gas was basically on empty (gas light on). We were hoping we could make it to a gas station. Also, was never told that the cost per mile over the allotted miles was $1 (per mile). This is the reason for the above average rating instead of excellent.

None of the items I reserved were available. Furniture dolly and hand truck. The boxes and blankets I ordered were not in the truck and they gave me the wrong size metal bar for the wardrobe box I paid for in advance, making it useless. Overall, not a good experience at all.

This location was extremely busy and only had 2 people working in the front. It took me an hour to get a van even though I had an appointment. Also, the clerk at the front desk that helped me was very rude. The first van that was assigned to me was broken into and there was shattered glass everywhere, so they assigned me a different, older van. It was very upsetting because I preferred the newer van. However, the staff that helped me when I came to return the van was very nice and professional.

Pick up truck I rented was dirty. I had to wipe down the interior because you could see the dust in the dashboard and feel the grime on the steering wheel not to mention the lady that helped me never smiled.

Renting the u haul was quick and easy, I was helped by a women who knew what she was doing. Returning the u haul is where the nightmare began. I was helped by a younger women who was very rude. Her name was Ashlee hall. Not only was her customer service dissatisfying, she tried to straight out rob me. Then when comforted with the mistake gave an even worse attitude. I will be making a formal complaint to u haul tomorrow due to this being one of the worst experiences I've ever had with this company and I have used u haul serval times over the years and most recently a month before this.

Originally I selected another local U-Haul location. However, the online U-Haul match me with the La Brea U-Haul based on my pick up truck and schedule request. The employees at the La Brea U-Haul gave excellent 100 percent service with my online request, picking up a truck and easy truck return. La Brea employees “Thank You” for excellent customer service.

Try and motivate your staff to assist and treat you customers like they are valued and actually your Customer. It was clear that they all are just punching a clock. I spent over an hour just to pick up a trailer. If you are requiring all customers to have a phone with them at pick up to take a photo and receive a text, you need to tell me that PRIOR to coming in to pick up the trailer. They did not seem to know what to do when I came with my valid license and credit card. I could go on but do t want to waste more of my time when I sure I will not get a response or think you can or make any changes at this location.

I scheduled a 24/7 pick up from: Cozys Coffee & Print 4720 W Slauson Av Windsor Hills, CA 90056 My Reservation #: 27190930 I was unable to pick up my rental bc nobody was at the location until 40mins after my scheduled pick up. Then they said I cant take the 15' bc they dont have keys. I called customer service to figure out whats going on and customer service cancelled my rental and moved me over to another location without telling me. Then I had to drive to another location. I was 2hours behind schedule and had to spend more money/time than i expected. This was the worst experience ive had with uhaul. I do not recommend the first location i was initially suppose to pick up from. I will be posting this experience on the boards.

THE CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT PROCESS USING YOUR PHONE IS BROKEN, HORRIBLE, TIME CONSUMING AND FRUSTRATING. I HAVE A NEWER SMART PHONE AND CONSIDER MYSELF CAPABLE ENOUGH TO USE A COMPANY WEBSITE PORTAL TO UPLOAD PHOTOS, ENTER INFORMATION. SITE IS BROKEN. RELOADS. ERRORS. STALLS. 30 FRUSTRATING MINUTES TRYING TO CHECK VEHICLE IN, TOOK SCREENSHOTS OF ERRORS AND SPINNING WHEELS, FINALLY GAVE UP AND DROPPED KEYS IN SLOT WITH INFO ON A PIECE OF PAPER. SHOULD NOT BE SO AWFUL. 1 STAR FOR THE "CONVENIENCE" TO DROP OFF AFTER HOURS. Person who’s shirt said he was the owner was not helpful at all. Said haul should not have made the reservation because they haven’t had that size unit in a long time. I ordered a 4x9 and he gave me a 7x7 a block away. When I looked at unit I was amazed at what they were passing off as safe storage units. Plywood walls and door with chicken wire for a ceiling.

Filthy location, floors were cracked and bulging causing items on the cart to fall off from turbulence. There was a person iving in the unit behind mine. Will never rent at this location again. Staff was not happy about doing thier job. Felt like I was a burden to them for renting a unit!

The was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had not only with U-Haul but with any retail/rental establishment in my life. Not only was the U-box I reserved not available, I was told the only person who could drive the forklift and get it for me "Just left on a 2 hr. break". I was told it would be ready in the morning and I went at noon. The woman at the counter initial Retta was rude and nasty with a bad attitude. When I went in to return the vehicle and let her know that I had a U-box reserved, she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence and loudly demanded, "Did you check in?", I tried to speak, and she asked the same question again. When I explained that it was my first time at that location and I did not know what the procedure was, she continued to demand if I had checked in. As if, she could not give me further information unless I had checked in. I told her that was what I was trying to do and held up the paper work. She waved her hand that I had to check in-I assume she was pointing to some direction, but it was not clear. I told her I had not seen any signs explaining the procedure, she said, "they are all out there". So I walked out and saw signs on the far side of the lot. I could have just turned left out of the store door, had she told me, but I didn't know. So I walked to the end of the lot and followed the green signs around the lot to the check in area. There, I was told about the absent, U-box. A young man named Christopher took me inside to the counter to speak with Edwin. Who confirmed there was no U-box. I explained that I had tried to tell, Retta, but she was rude, cut me off and would not listen to me. At at that point, Retta started talking over me (even though she was with another customer and down the counter and I was talking to Edwin) She loudly continuiously chanted, "Oh I'm rude, she said I'm rude, well your're rude, oh I'm rude huh? I'am rude, she said I'm rude) on and on for at least 15 minutes. All the while, Edwin was trying to call another location to find available storage. Eventually, she left the counter. I had to people with me who only had a short amount of time to help me unload into my missing Ubox and check in the truck. With all the confusion, it took too long and I had not choice but to take any available storage unit at this location, so that I could unload the truck and my helpers could be on their way. I ended up having to pay for a storage space that is $199 per month. That is almost $90 more than a U-box! Then, with the delay, we still had to unload the truck and turn it in. It was a disaster and took much longer than it should have. Retta was horrible and has not people much less customer skills. There was no manager there to resolve the situation. When I called the manager the next day. He simply said, "I will speak to her". I am beyone upset about this. I feel taken advantage because I had to take the only thing available to me, since what I ordered and was promised I called the 800 number that morning to reconfirm it would be there when I arrived. So I'm stuck with paying more per month. This is just wrong. How can U-Haul do this to customers and treat customers this way?

After arriving at your U-haul on Fir the 23 Oct 2020. I had just drove 3 day from Florida too wait 30 minutes for counter service. Only one customer service person. I had to return my Vehicle tow and empty the truck BUT the pass key would not work! and they could not get it fixed. I have to return again today and try and empty my truck. I hope the key works. I was not aloud to leave the truck on the lot. ! I had to park on the street. I hope I don't have a ticket .

You should tell customers at the moment of reservation for trucks that the appliances dolly is a 1st come 1st serve basis. I stored for almost a year and when I was ready to move my stuff I had to go rent a dolly from Home Depot. Thank you for everything.

I tried to call Ricardo Hernandez 4 times and he never called me back. I received a late fee for 20.99 and a Lien fee for 50,00 in less than 30 days. During this day and time during the Corona Virus / with an order to stay home I would think there would be some type of grace period. Not a place I wont to visit again or recommend.

7 pm is a little early top close. Some people have to travel quite a distance, making it difficult to get to your facility after work during rush hour traffic.

The people here need A LOT of training on U-Boxes, scheduling appointments, KEEPING APPOINTMENTS, calling people back when they say they will, etc. Had to go to Regional manager to get issues fixed.
