The truck the was given to me that day, had cigarette ashes all over the dashboard like it was used as an Ash tray. The motor felt forced it took a loge time to go from 1st to 2rd. The office staff was helpful,Cecilia D.

Rent equipment that does not have serious safety deficiencies. The trailer had one tire that was worn to 1/32 of remaining tread. I wouldn't loan out my personal equipment if the tire wear was so deficient, why should people want to rent equipment like this. I requested a tire change and offered to change it myself and the CS staff only gave me the option of a refund. Since I had no other backup rental options I choose to accept this risk and I remained nervous about the tur the entire week. Luckily nothing bad happened. They wired my car to work with the trailer, then my car wouldn't start. They shrugged and said "it's not our fault, we don't know what to do" and left me on my own. I had to call roadside assistance, who told me that UHaul broke my battery terminal when they wired it for the trailer. I still have not been reimbursed for the repairs. I got on the highway with the trailer attached and everyone was honking at me, apparently they hooked it up so the chains were dragging on the ground and making sparks. I stopped at a gas station and all they had was iPhone chargers so I tied the chains up with that. We finally went from LA to NY, and the guy at the dropoff Uhaul said the trailer attachment was done so badly it's a miracle my trailer didn't fly off during the drive.ALAN W.
This recent rental (yesterday's 24hr rental) the truck AND windows were clean!!!!!! ...and NO stinky cigarette odor inside the truck this time!!! No trash inside either! Wow!! I didn't feel like I was riding in a Petrie dish this time!!!! Pleeeeease keep that going and make THAT the norm! I was worried about my experience with u haul based on all the reviews I read HOWEVER I had zero issues. I would suggest including adding an authorized driver during the initial application process so we could have made those arrangements prior to check in. This truck was supposed to be a one way to be dropped off on 10/25 at Brooklyn Smog Center but the place was closed and UHaul couldn't locate the key lockbox code. I was sent to a location 30 minutes away with the promise that it would be open and I could drop off the vehicle. When I arrived to it, in the middle of south Central, next to a mini tent city, the place was closed again. I was told to drive another 30 minutes away, to which I replied no. At this point my wife, and my two and three year old are driving around aimlessly behind me to pick me up IF I'm able to drop off the truck off, but instead we are in front of a closed uHaul with prostitutes walking the sidewalk and the air thick with the stench of weed. Finally was told I could take the truck home, and return it the next day to the South LA location (third location at this point). No extra mileage, no extra charges. The truck was initially picked up at 1/8th tank full, I'd get a $25.00 credit if I returned it 1/4 tank full. When I finally dropped off the truck not only was I not given the $25 credit (the tank was at a 1/4 despite having to drive all over the place the night before), I was also charged an extra $35 for extra mileage. The agent at South LA location was adamant the $35 would be a credit, not a charge, she said I won't charge the extra mileage. Well, lo and behold. Extra $35.00 charged to my card. So now I'm in $154.00 on the rental, $45 on gas, $35 on extra mileage, and over two hours lost between yesterday and today simply trying to drop this truck off. Worst experience ever.Oscar R.

Equipment was stellar! We initially dropped the vehicle off at Trojan Storage in Puyallup, based on drop anywhere understanding from pickup location. After we drove home .. drop location said they HAD to double our fee $2700 because they were not in our drop off area!!! How would we know this... we drove an hour, picked up the truck and car dolly-then drove to a second location which was added to the contract without our knowledge-would never have picked that location... as it is not close to our home. Driving in traffic all day during a rainstorm made for a few grumpy movers. Moral of the story-READ the fine print... understand the drop off location rules and NEVER believe what you are told in person... READ the documents thoroughly. Customer service was unable to make any concessions-move the truck or we will double your bill....Rick L.

Worst experience at a Uhaul ever. Employees were barely attentive and my truck was dirty. On top of that it smelt like people constantly smoke cigarettes in it. This U-Haul Moving & Storage of Inglewood 964 S La Brea Inglewood, CA 90301 were very professional. The location where i picked up the hitch the first time in the liquor store was very unprofessional and I never got a follow up to these completes. But I have a feeling your wont even read this comment and will probably ignore this comment as you usually do. Moving forward after the traumatic experience I felt in the first place I picked up the hitch in the liquor store (look up the address its in the system) I wont go back. There were people living in the hitch and I felt like I was in danger. The owner of the liquor is very professional and asked me if I could install the hitch as if I was getting paid to do this.Jackelyn R.

I had originally arranged a few weeks in advance. I called to confirm a few days I have the time, the day before and the morning of 3 times. I was told that you Box would be there and ready and I was on a very tight schedule because I had other people helping me. When I arrived, there was no U Box. A woman working there was very rude I was a returning a truck and she wasn't helpful at all and actually started yelling at me and acting out. Because there was no U Box and I had to unload the truck to return Ito return it and get my stuff put away somewhere, I was forced to take the only thing available a 7 by 10 storage unit which costs twice as much as the U Box.. Person who’s shirt said he was the owner was not helpful at all. Said haul should not have made the reservation because they haven’t had that size unit in a long time. I ordered a 4x9 and he gave me a 7x7 a block away. When I looked at unit I was amazed at what they were passing off as safe storage units. The was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had not only with U-Haul but with any retail/rental establishment in my life. Not only was the U-box I reserved not available, I was told the only person who could drive the forklift and get it for me "Just left on a 2 hr. break". I was told it would be ready in the morning and I went at noon. The woman at the counter initial Retta was rude and nasty with a bad attitude. When I went in to return the vehicle and let her know that I had a U-box reserved, she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence and loudly demanded, "Did you check in?", I tried to speak, and she asked the same question again. When I explained that it was my first time at that location and I did not know what the procedure was, she continued to demand if I had checked in. As if, she could not give me further information unless I had checked in. I told her that was what I was trying to do and held up the paper work. She waved her hand that I had to check in-I assume she was pointing to some direction, but it was not clear. I told her I had not seen any signs explaining the procedure, she said, "they are all out there". So I walked out and saw signs on the far side of the lot. I could have just turned left out of the store door, had she told me, but I didn't know. So I walked to the end of the lot and followed the green signs around the lot to the check in area. There, I was told about the absent, U-box. A young man named Christopher took me inside to the counter to speak with Edwin. Who confirmed there was no U-box. I explained that I had tried to tell, Retta, but she was rude, cut me off and would not listen to me. At at that point, Retta started talking over me (even though she was with another customer and down the counter and I was talking to Edwin) She loudly continuiously chanted, "Oh I'm rude, she said I'm rude, well your're rude, oh I'm rude huh? I'am rude, she said I'm rude) on and on for at least 15 minutes. All the while, Edwin was trying to call another location to find available storage. Eventually, she left the counter. I had to people with me who only had a short amount of time to help me unload into my missing Ubox and check in the truck. With all the confusion, it took too long and I had not choice but to take any available storage unit at this location, so that I could unload the truck and my helpers could be on their way. I ended up having to pay for a storage space that is $199 per month. That is almost $90 more than a U-box! Then, with the delay, we still had to unload the truck and turn it in. It was a disaster and took much longer than it should have. Retta was horrible and has not people much less customer skills. There was no manager there to resolve the situation. When I called the manager the next day. He simply said, "I will speak to her". I am beyone upset about this. I feel taken advantage because I had to take the only thing available to me, since what I ordered and was promised I called the 800 number that morning to reconfirm it would be there when I arrived. So I'm stuck with paying more per month. This is just wrong. How can U-Haul do this to customers and treat customers this way?Tangela B. | First Impressions

After arriving at your U-haul on Fir the 23 Oct 2020. I had just drove 3 day from Florida too wait 30 minutes for counter service. Only one customer service person. I had to return my Vehicle tow and empty the truck BUT the pass key would not work! and they could not get it fixed. I have to return again today and try and empty my truck. I hope the key works.
