This location provided world class service. However I first booked a van at one of your mom and pop associates. When I arrived at the location to pick up the van I was informed the location had no vans. Just wish I could have been notified of this earlier. I then rescheduled a van thru u-haul at another mom and pop associate. When I arrived at that location I was informed that the person who handled the uhauls would not be in until after 4:pm. That day was ruined. Finally when I called u-haul to schedule for a third time I requested to be sent to a corporate store. Everything worked out well there.Abraham W.
I felt every bump the road had. The truck bounced so hard it felt like a jackhammer. My entire body was aching, it was an extreme ride. There was also now way to charge my phone, the newer phone doesn't use an USB - the cord has two "C" adapter's.BRIANA B.
Unfortunately, I didn't feel safe dropping off at night due to homeless people occupying the back of almost every truck until the location opens the next morning. I can't blame Uhaul for that; I blame the city of Los Angeles and all the other states for putting their homeless population on buses to send them here.Gayla B.

Upon returning the equipment, I found out two days later that they did not check in my trailer that I rented. The associate promptly unhooked and stored it away however when I asked him if he needed assistance, he said no very rudely, and walked away to the next customer (there was a line waiting to return equipment.) We were stuck in the lot for almost 30 minutes waiting to exit as trucks weren't being moved once checked back in, and I was the only personal vehicle in the line (since I rented a trailer.) Once finally out of the lot, I found out the next day my credit card was charged again for another day of rental. I called and was sent to customer service where the wait time was 30-40 minutes. I decided to wait until the end of the weekend. I then called the next day again (now Sunday) as ANOTHER day was charged to my card. I called the location and was told that it was â€œpendingâ€ and it would be taken care of. I explained I returned the equipment on time, and the agent told me it would be fixed. The next day, now Monday, I had another charge on my card. I called again and she said that the equipment was never checked in and I was billed for 5 days instead of 3 as I should have been. I was also billed a â€œconvenience feeâ€ of $20 for after hours check in. She was able to reverse and refund the charges but the entire return experience was the worst I have ever had of any rental company. Poor customer service at the time of drop off, poor inventory/equipment management, and needless to say it should not take the customer 3 attempts of following up to get the charges finalized and reconciled. I will never rent from this location again.Cory S.

The truck broke down outside of Albuquerque, NM. Almost caused my Uncle who was driving the truck to crash twice. Had to leave the truck in New Mexico for 2 days. It was a nightmare!PATRICK P.

The contract stated that there was 3/8 tank of fuel. In reality, it 1/4 only. The employees did not take the time to show how things work in the truck, including back gate, the hand break, etc. Five minutes into driving, the "service stabilitrak" light came on. The engine started losing power while i was on the freeway. I had to pull over, and this situation kept repeating. When I went to return the truck, the customer service agent told me that "I was giving a link via text message to make sure everything is ok in the truck before pulling away ". So I was to blame for a truck was poorly maintained, had no properly working shocks, with an engine losing power. It was simply my fault. This is my first time renting from this location, and I do not think that they perform proper maintenance on their trucks. I will NEVER, EVER rent from this location again. Poor customer service, unsafe trucks, a real disaster. Recommendation: do as other rentals do: perform a check of the truck WITH the clients, and assist them in knowing how things work in those trucks. Also, perform a maintained on your trucks and refrain from renting out unsafe trucks. It's not just about the money: it's about people's safety. Next time when a customer asks for a specific size, have that available or notify them via email/phone to tell them there truck size has been changed. To give a customer a truck 2 or 3 sizes bigger than their request not only makes it difficult for them to drive but it also throws off how the furniture will be positioned in the truck. My other complaints are more towards the app and website (horrible) and the pricing system.Brandon W.
Customer service returning was horrible. They didn't have the accurate gas mileage down and tried to charge me for gas that wasn't in the truck before I picked it up. Luckily I took a picture of the dashboard before I took off and was able to show them what it was and I had actually put more gas in then there was when I left the lot. I was told I would get a discount for returning the truck with more gas but when I went in to check out a rep named Ashlee told me that I couldn't get it because I didn't do a virtual checkout which I was never told to do upon leaving. No one tried to accommodate me and the rep was rude and short with me. Worst experience and would never recommend,Jasmine M.

The directions on Google Maps are very confusing because there are two different locations called 964 S La Brea. This is not the fault of U Haul but the listing on Google Maps even lists U Haul as being at the wrong location as well as the correct one. One thing that could help would be that in the text message sent confirming the address, the city and zip code should be included and not just the street name.Andrew B.

Person who’s shirt said he was the owner was not helpful at all. Said haul should not have made the reservation because they haven’t had that size unit in a long time. I ordered a 4x9 and he gave me a 7x7 a block away. When I looked at unit I was amazed at what they were passing off as safe storage units. Car was dirty, USB outlet was broken (inconsistent charging), and there was a tow hitch we couldn't remove because we didn't have a key to it. Ended up not even able to tow the trailer that we rented the truck for because of this. Wasted our time and money.Roy A.
We had multiple encounters with this branch as well as customer service on the 800 line. We made it VERY clear that we needed a vehicle to tow our 6000# trailer to Portland, OR from Inglewood, CA, a distance of 1000 miles. We were informed that there were no vehicles available for a one way rental on Friday 3/18. After another call to CS we were told that a 10' box truck would work. I told the agent that we needed a vehicle with a receiver hitch and assured that the 10' had one when in fact, it does not. After yet another trip to Inglewood, we ended up renting the pickup with the knowledge of having to drive it back the 1000 miles from Portland to Inglewood. The contract was listed at a mileage rate of .89 per mile. We asked if there was an available discount in that we were looking at racking up 2000 miles. We were told by the agent at Inglewood that there was not discount. As we drove, we found that there were in fact weekly and monthly rates available but extremely frustrated that neither the 800 CS agent or the branch agents had any knowledge of these options, or at least, never spoke of any to us. Upon returning the truck was the first time anyone acknowledged that there were other programs that would lower our cost. I suggest that further training be implemented for all of your agents to better serve future customers.magaret N.

The was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had not only with U-Haul but with any retail/rental establishment in my life. Not only was the U-box I reserved not available, I was told the only person who could drive the forklift and get it for me "Just left on a 2 hr. break". I was told it would be ready in the morning and I went at noon. The woman at the counter initial Retta was rude and nasty with a bad attitude. When I went in to return the vehicle and let her know that I had a U-box reserved, she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence and loudly demanded, "Did you check in?", I tried to speak, and she asked the same question again. When I explained that it was my first time at that location and I did not know what the procedure was, she continued to demand if I had checked in. As if, she could not give me further information unless I had checked in. I told her that was what I was trying to do and held up the paper work. She waved her hand that I had to check in-I assume she was pointing to some direction, but it was not clear. I told her I had not seen any signs explaining the procedure, she said, "they are all out there". So I walked out and saw signs on the far side of the lot. I could have just turned left out of the store door, had she told me, but I didn't know. So I walked to the end of the lot and followed the green signs around the lot to the check in area. There, I was told about the absent, U-box. A young man named Christopher took me inside to the counter to speak with Edwin. Who confirmed there was no U-box. I explained that I had tried to tell, Retta, but she was rude, cut me off and would not listen to me. At at that point, Retta started talking over me (even though she was with another customer and down the counter and I was talking to Edwin) She loudly continuiously chanted, "Oh I'm rude, she said I'm rude, well your're rude, oh I'm rude huh? I'am rude, she said I'm rude) on and on for at least 15 minutes. All the while, Edwin was trying to call another location to find available storage. Eventually, she left the counter. I had to people with me who only had a short amount of time to help me unload into my missing Ubox and check in the truck. With all the confusion, it took too long and I had not choice but to take any available storage unit at this location, so that I could unload the truck and my helpers could be on their way. I ended up having to pay for a storage space that is $199 per month. That is almost $90 more than a U-box! Then, with the delay, we still had to unload the truck and turn it in. It was a disaster and took much longer than it should have. Retta was horrible and has not people much less customer skills. There was no manager there to resolve the situation. When I called the manager the next day. He simply said, "I will speak to her". I am beyone upset about this. I feel taken advantage because I had to take the only thing available to me, since what I ordered and was promised I called the 800 number that morning to reconfirm it would be there when I arrived. So I'm stuck with paying more per month. This is just wrong. How can U-Haul do this to customers and treat customers this way?Tangela B. | First Impressions

After arriving at your U-haul on Fir the 23 Oct 2020. I had just drove 3 day from Florida too wait 30 minutes for counter service. Only one customer service person. I had to return my Vehicle tow and empty the truck BUT the pass key would not work! and they could not get it fixed. I have to return again today and try and empty my truck. I hope the key works.
