Booked a reservation July 31 to pick up August 6, get there not only do they not have the size truck I needed, they give me a smaller truck and tell me I need to bring it back before my scheduled drop off time. Instead of me just making one trip like I had planned I had to make two to move all of my things. Which ended up being more miles than planned, and took longer than expected.

Second time I've used U-Haul to move and the second time that my reservation has been changed or cancelled the night before. This time supposedly someone called me but I never had a missed call, a voicemail, or an email. Made the reservation two weeks early and it was actually changed twice and the only reason I knew about the first change was because I called to change the reservation

was supposed to be contactless pick up app didnt work so i had to go inside upon goin to door it was locked lady working was unlocking door was rude didnt welcome me never spoke to me until i got to counter and told her why i was there then she was very rude still didnt speak just asked for id started typing didnt apologize software wasnt working just very poor customer service attitude was awful and truck shook really bad anytime you pushed on gas pedal drivers side window didnt have the rubber that sealed window when closed so it let air in making it loud when driving was extremely hard to shift into drive returning truck the man that checked in truck was not very welcoming appeared very dirty unkempt again very poor customer service

I rented a trailer and there was no good way to get it off the truck except by hand and it was heavy. Also it would be helpful to have a dedicated trailer drop off area at the location. we had to leave it in such a way as to be able to get my truck back out of the return line and it was left on an angle.

I rented a cargo van with a half tank of gas before returning it I filled it back to a half tank of gas when I went back to the Inkster Michigan location I was charged $17 for gas so no I don't like being ripped off

Scheduling a reservation was a disaster. I reserved a 4x8 trailer online. Then uhaul called me to say there are not any 4x8 trailers available. I explained there are many new trailers available at Inkster, but was told they could not be rented. I was then told to accept a 5x8. When I went to pickup the 5x8, I was told there are not any 5x8 trailers available but they would provide a 6x12. The problem is my minivan cannot tow a 6x12. So I was told to go to Inkster since they have many new 4x8 trailers. Then when I get to Inkster, I was told the online price was an estimate and could not be honored. This was obviously false, but I had to insist the price be corrected by showing the online price. What is wrong with Uhaul? What a run-around. Someone needs to look at this messed-up process.

This was the 3rd UHaul we went to in 1 day. I had a RESERVATION and the first UHaul in Novi told me that a truck was not assigned to me. The 2nd would not pick up the phone. Extremely frustrating. McKenzia in Inkster was friendly and helpful. We were very disappointed that we drove an extra 2o miles each way for the truck

I got charged more then and i rented the truck form 7 pm to next day 10 am the Lady had for 2 hours set up and i got charged for 2 days that's not right and i returned the trucks by 3 : 30 did on the app they way you supposed to return the truck back on the u haul and i get charged for bring the truck before 10 am just because the lady didn't know what she was Doing and did something wrong in here end why i have to be the one get scammed and i had 1 person with me as witness and before i leave the trucks miles wasn't right i called that truck need alignment because the stern was in like half way wrong side wise and i told them that and for me doing all these updates and when I signed she said in here own mouth that truck returned back at 10 am and the guy in joy rd place said the same thing and then she told me to sign so i signed on based what she said and i have someone was there was listen to everything and i need help to solve this problem or i will take this to court and go after your bund because this scam hustle and i got charged for almost 3 days and right after i called and hang i got charged 35.38 twice is that fair right when i called to make this update that got charged more then I suppose they end doing. Again where charge me 35.38 cents

I want to go out of my way to please acknowledge the outstanding customer service personality and professionalism among four separate U-Haul employees that I just recently had to deal with when I needed a truck and a storage unit and they were so great every one of them the first one starts with Jaden and this is at the Inkster location in Michigan Ave and Middlebelt the second would be Lana the third would be Eileen the fourth would be Alicia and finally the manager Shannon or Sharon. Please go out of your way and send these employees all at a girls for me I'm going to check up to make sure if you did that and if it wasn't done because the suits at U-Haul that have no idea what it's like to even drop a beat of sweat could take the time to pass forward such a positive feedback on named employees at your Inkster Michigan location on Middlebelt Road in Michigan Avenue all of those people that I just named made my day so much easier yesterday please make sure you give them the gratification they deserve or just sit there and do nothing and collect your salary check with your suit on it's up to you just know that God is always watching watching!

I had issues with my truck rental and my storage rental. I ordered a truck on Monday to pick up after hours on Thursday. I did not receive any notification that this location was not allowing 24/7 pick up until I arrived on Thursday evening. Also, I had key card issues for the storage and someone stole my storage unit before I could move in. It has been a hassle all around. But I appreciate the employees that helped.

The reservation of the unit went smooth. However, the key card stopped working to let me check in and move my items in. Gratefully, the store was still open, and 30 minutes before closing, they were able to fix my card. However, once I finally entered the facility, there was a customer lock on the unit which I had not put on there. There was no one available until Monday to cut the lock off, so 10 minutes before store closing, I had to be re-assigned to another unit. I am appreciate of the employee, MacKenzie (sp?), that spoke with manager and helped me get a bigger unit and a month free for the issues.

The two female-presenting employees at the counter were not engaging at all. The one who was supposed to help me was noncommunicative. I asked several times if she needed anything else from me, and she continued clicking the mouse without speaking to me. I finally said that I had to go because I was paying my movers by the hour; then she finally said, OK.

I rented a 6x12 trailer on yesterday from U-Haul, and I expected it to be a lot cleaner then what it is. The previous renter did not clean the trailer out before turning the trailer in, and U-Haul decided not to clean the trailer out before I picked it up. Even though it's a rental, I'm paying money to rent it and it should be in a better condition then what it was.

The trailer did not have a lift jack to remove the ball from the hitch like in the instructions in the app it was very heavy and difficult to remove by myself had to get my floor jack out to lift trailer off my hitch.

The location was fine but not the original one. We were 40 minutes into a 2 hr drive to pick up the truck when informed that the truck we reserved was not available and the nearest was 47 miles out of the way. We eventually found a truck rather smaller than we needed, but the best we could get. As a result we had to make two trips, each leg being over 2 hours. I am not pleased and will be avoiding your company in the future.

the storage units smell like urine, cigarettes and fish it looks as though storages are never cleaned and never been cleaned before renting to the next customer. The storages are also not closed off which puts customers belongings at high risk for been contaminated by other customers items in storage example if someone has bedbugs and they spread my items aren’t protected because there’s a opening at the top. The price of a 4x6x8 is 70 bucks which is outrageous compared to the amount of storage you are getting, management is horrible and not easy to speak to I asked to speak to a manager and they refused to come out only kept sending the employee back and forth communication was awful and each person I spoke to gave my information that was correct they overcharged me and the manager still refused to speak with me. I had to call corporate to get things fixed properly which corporate was able to do but this store location is horrible the storage units are unsanitary and the staff needs to all get on boards with knowing the policy and prices because they amount of misinformation that was being giving out is ridiculous. If wasn’t for the employee that checked me out I wouldn’t have even gave a star my overall experience has been horrible 0/10 I would never recommend you guys to anyone

This whole experience from the beginning was a significant disappointment then having a u haul truck that shook the whole drive for 11 hours was extremely hard to Handle on the highway, it should have never been rented out of state ,then check in was crazy I had experienced another customer yelling and cursing at staff and management inside the office and the whole parking lot at inkster location needs alot of work took way too long to check in staff seemed not trained in computer check in or renting storage rentals it was alot of other staff asking each other how to do this and how to do that took almost 2 hours to do check in ,I would have never expected this in the past with u haul I would love to speak to someone from the main office about my experience

First, I did not intend to use this facility. I was promised/reserved one in Ann Arbor, with a month free that came along with my rental of a trailer for a move from Virginia. When we arrived in Ann Arbor, of course, there was nothing available, not even a mobile box. They sent us to Inkster, who honored the first month free but didn't have the smaller size (less expensive unit) we were promised so we were pushed into a larger more expensive unit. Bait and switch comes to mind, and as much business as I've given your company I find it highly disappointing. I asked, at least, if I could get the the unit at the same price promised for the Ann Arbor unit. The manager said she had no control over the pricing and couldn't help me. So, here I am needing to return the trailer and no where (after the second site) to store my belongings (and I'd just driven several hundred miles.) Did I feel taken advantage of. Yes I did. And I will tell anyone who asks. It's clear your company recognizes that moving is no fun; it's also clear you practice predatory pricing and business tactics that take advantage of stressed out customers. You could change that with a simple policy: Ensure your site managers have the ability to make adjustments to help customers when your company fails to deliver what is promised -- particularly when they're sent to another city when you fail to have the reservation available.

The only experience I had that seemed off was with the way the contract was started. The employee recorded was the date I moved with the rented truck. I rented the storage about a week earlier So when I called to see what day my bill was due I was told the wrong date Then they charged me late fee of $25. I disputed it of course and was able to get a refund. The 2nd time I paid the bill on the due date and again was charged the late fee.I called again and was told the payment needed to be there on the due date as this time I received no credit. Then later I learned the correct one. I had a 5 day window to pay before being charged a late fee U-Haul needs to train their employees better so everybody can be on the same page. After I vacated the storage with a truck tental; I was called to tell them what date I closed the rental because it wasn't recorded properly. That is poorly conducted business to relay to customers.

The only fault i had was with the mix up with my unit. The first one given to me didn't compete the auction process and was still locked up. Fortunately, there was another unit available.

One time while checking in, one of the desk people were rude when I asked how to check in correctly. I had only been one other time and didn’t have to use my card because they checked me in. When I checked out, they did not follow through with the online check out and I received a bill with a late charge. I spend 20 minutes on hold to talk to someone to get it taken care of. Did not have to pay, thankfully.

The only problem we had was that the storage unit itself was very dark. There was no light inside and the hall light outside the unit was burnt out making it hard to see.

The storage unit I reserved by phone and with credit card was not available when I showed up. The access card failed to work after several attempts and the unit was not climate controlled. Super hot and archaic.

We were pushed to pay for insurance were told they get leeks you should insure it. I was right with time or else I would of gone else where for storage we were also told since you rented 4 days you get the biggest room instead we got the smallest because the big room was on second floor no elevators I would die to move my heavy items on the stairs. Last time using u haul storage or unless I get some kind of credit for the trouble we were givin also was told drop off the truck there it's ok then when done we were told no you can not we had to drive another 20 mnt to another location for drop off. Frustrated and tired ....

I never rented a unit before and they made it simple explained everything very well and was very helpful. I like the easy access to my unit as well You can just pull your whole van in there or truck unload everything and back back out It's very convenient facility.

Very unhappy customer I have been pay for my storage unit for last 4 yrs I am single mom with two boys we are broken spirits cuz they sold my unit without hear from me first they knew I am deaf they need to text me or email but I haven’t got receive my letter in mail box when I told my new address ....no body listen and I was only 2 months behind but I always caught up pay 3 months or more no problem until now it’s gone they didn’t bother look at my history and see how long I have been pay for and go for it sold my unit it torn my heart a pieces I had no way to contact when my internet down it requires high speed internet to call relay and no car to drive there but they know better by my long time 4 years history now I am unhappy customer why would I leave a great comment when my spirit is broken and my boys too
