The website was down which made it very difficult to fix a problem renting the right equipment, all phone lines were also down making things even more frustrating. The web experience was very hard to navigate the night prior and would not recommend it to anyone.Blaine E.
First of all unit wasnt swept, night time unload no light bulb even in light fixture! $171.38 initial fee for rental for only 3 hours and only 12 miles then I get another bill for $93. for what? I swept put gas in etc. I dropped keys off with receipt for gas that I put in $15.00 so maybe 1 litre short. Not inpressed one bit!SHAUN J.

Took me over 30 minutes to check in with a confirmed reservation. Had to pay with cash as uhaul system would not accept credit ordering payment. Vehicle had electronic issues so our kms were out of wack.. Unsure if we got the correct mileage we were charged for. Vehicle has cardboard left in it and garbage under the seats but other than that its uhaul can't really expect much moreTeagan M.

Drop off was very smooth, young man who helped me was very kind and professional. I have dropped of U hauls here twice now, and each time the staff is courteous. Some U Hauls in Kamloops don't even take drop offs!! So I would advise to go to this location as they are equipped to handle drop offs with no problems.Tara E.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Booked a pickup and 6x12 trailer, arrived at 12:50pm for my 1pm reservation, and no truck available. My ride had already left and I was stuck waiting on the curb for over and hour. When I asked if this would qualify for the $50 reservation guarantee, the agent Paula, said she could not authorize that and would need to ask a manager, which she didn't. Truck pulled up, and it was a 5x8 trailer not a 6x12... so truck was an hour late, wrong trailer, and no reservation guarantee credit. Truck and trailer were great, no issues, but upon return, Paula told me my bill was over $320... for 24hrs and 60km driven... when I said that was absurd, she brought me inside and went through all her documents before realizing SHE had entered the kilometres wrong. I don't use uhaul much, but I certainly won't be again!! If someone could please get back to me about this, I would very much like to inquire about the $50 reservation guarantee as my truck was over an hour late and had the wrong trailer...DANIEL V.

Your online truck share system was terrible. It took me one hour thirty minutes to get the truck. The person I was uploading my license to wasn't truthful at first of why I couldn't be validated. Thankfully the young lady inside was very helpful. Then the steps to drop off the truck were stupid and left you standing there confused wondering if someone was coming out our calling you or if you need to take photos per how you would get a photo of the mileage and gas after you put the key in the drop box. Also you need to have more consistency with currencies. A person should easily know what they are paying and for what. You need better UX designers if you have any at all.BRENT G.

The man who signed out the truck and the girl who checked the condition of the truck on return were fine. There was a relatively old lady employee was also present at the time. She had some issues with me. Not happy that I did not take insurance and keep on passing absurd remarks about this. The reason that I did not take insurance was because it was covered through my CC.MUHAMMAD R.
I had reserved a 10 X 10 and when I got there one hour later (which I had said I was going to be arriving with my load) told me he had just given it to another lady and there were no units available anymore. He then offered me two smaller units at double the price of the 10 X 10 and when I said that was not cool he said he was sorry there was no more units available. I asked him to call his boss. His boss said to just give me the two at the same price as the 10 X 10... when she arrived after I had paid, I heard her tell another customer that there were several 10 X 10s still available... like honestly, this is some of the worst and shadiest customer service I've ever encountered.Jason H. | First Impressions

The trailer was well used and damaged all over. The trailer also leaked from the rear door and the front side walls damaging my stuff. Very disappointed!DREW M.
Upon pick up the outside of the truck was filthy. The side windows and mirrors were so dirty we couldn't look out of them. We were told we couldn't pick it up early because it had to be cleaned. Once driving the window wipers didn't work properly and made it extremely dangerous as there was snow and the windows wipers wouldn't do what they were supposed to. With all that said the girl at the front desk in Kamloops was very friendly and helpful. That was about the only good experience we had.KARLA N.

Customer Service. Two people working there, one friendly and helpful, the other not so much. I felt like I was inconveniencing the associate by being there. When i finished some hours later, I had to go through return process with the same having a bad day associate. I had a simple question about my bill that I needed clarification on (or at least bring it to U-hauls attention). While my bill was the right amount, my concern was that the bill showed my distance amount of 80km under miles. So my bill showed I had driven 80 miles. I obviously wanted to clear this up and tried asking the associate about it, but they did not seem interested in listening and I got responses like " I dont know", "ask the other person" and " there's nothing we can do". So I went inside and discussed with other associate and we confirmed I had been charged right amount even though the system was recording it in the wrong column ( you should probably look into that). And when I was walking back to my car the associate who had blown me off earlier, walked right by me and didnt even check if the issue was resolved. I am well aware its a strain to be working during a pandemic, so I would rather the associates be given training vs write ups & reprimands. Its hard out here for everyone. Bottom line : My experience being good or bad shouldnt have been determined by which associate I dealt with.DOMINIC G.

I rented in Kamloops to go to Squamish there's no drop-off in Squamish so had to pay extra gas to drive to North Vancouver. If you could reimburse me for gas that would be awesome. So very unhappyAaron C.
The workers here treat you as if you are supposed to know everything they know by working there everyday. If you miss a sign for drop off (amidst the plethora of signage on site) their body language, tone, and manner of subtle sarcasm can make one with less confidence than I feel dumb. The impression I got was that because they either don't like their job OR perhaps get annoyed with customers asking the same questions daily, that they take this out on the customer. Next, the way everything is moving to technology assumes that everyone MUST own a smart phone. The fact that the front counter Woman told me flat out that if an elderly person didn't have a cell phone, or didn't know how to use the new age apps and links (for the new walk around process) that that elderly person or any one without a cell phone then would not be able to be a customer of Uhaul. I find this both elitist and is just a way for Uhaul to add more work on to the customer and save a few bucks on labour etc. Finally, all of my past experiences with Uhaul have been in a similar vein. It is my theory that most businesses who have a monopoly on a niche do not have the necessity to adapt to poor feedback simply as there is no fear of a competitor scooping those customers as there is no where else to go; this is the paradigm I believe Uhaul overall exists in.Lee W.

I think that a cot of 61.00 was very expensive for a two hour rental. While I was told the fuel tank was at 3/4 and should be returned the same the tank was between half and three quarters. We went in and booked a 26â€ truck a month in advance. Explained it would be myself or my husband driving it for my mom, would it need to be our credit card and info? We were told no so my mom arranged for payment etc. Arrive the day of for 9 am pickup only to not get it until 945 as the one lady was dealing with a person ahead of us. Fine and dandy but seriously I memorized the phone number as she was asked it 10 times. Then our turn. Lady was rude saying they wouldn't do that with credit card so I had to provide mine. Again on our way 45 mins later and no adjustments on time. Truck was great for moving. We returned it with how much gas we were told to fill up which was also shown on my papers I got. My mom went in and paid and thank god my husband was with her as they tried to get another 40 dollars out of her saying she didn't put enough gas in. After 15 mins of searching they realize they are wrong. No apology or anything. Overall the truck was great. The service in the building not so much. And another thing. Might want to tell your staff that cell phones are for off the clock. Not to keep answering it when trying to get information from your potential renters.ROBERT S.

I love this place, and the employees are top shelf. I go there and rent trucks whenever I need a break, they are less than a months rent and have roadside assistance, out of gas rescue, and can be booked or dropped off anytime. My only issue is I dropped one at a different spot, but had to return it to the original location in a hurry because another customer needed it. Only things I would change is it always seams uncomfortable, and more expensive to call and extend the rental in person, when online the process is $30 a day and gives options for multiple day extension. Since taking on the Secret Agent role for COVID-19 I find my use to be sporadic. I already applied to be a partner. Everything I touch turns to gold, so maybe we can make an arrangement locally or at the national or international level. I'm going to be continuing my work throughout 80 countries. Just FYI, there are alter egos, that represent human flaws that's just entertainment, I am the real and original smart and moralistic one. You will never have problems with me around. I am a bradass amongst the bad boys, and police the police. I don't watch tv, and I am glad I don't because I and everyone else knows the other flawed characters portraying the flaws would be against my mantra. But, there needed to be a contrast. My biggest issue was the stereotyping and unfriendly staff. Other then that the place needs to stay open later! 7pm is a ridiculously early time to be closing! Overall unit was clean and big enough for all my items and the staff I did deal with throughout were great. Unfortunately the only thing that I would note is I wish UHaul would pro-rate in terms of storage units as I had my storage in there from Nov 30-Jan 1. I reserved a locker online and the staff member that assisted me on move in day was friendly enough but her supervisor (female) was very rude. She told the young girl to give me a locker that was $5/month higher than the one I had booked. When I said I wanted to pay the price I had reserved (and stuck to that) she was quite upset, told the girl to give the original locker to me and stormed off. Thank you UHaul. The facilities were clean and well cared for. The staff are great - very efficient and friendly - particularly Paula. My only comment is I found it unnerving/scary at times to go to my unit on the second floor because anyone can just walk into the building - whether they have a unit or not. There is no keycard or code required to enter the building. Anyone can just walk through the sliding doors and access the elevator. Everything was good until I went to return the truck, the person that came out to check the truck tried to double bill me for the truck, when I told him I had already paid for the truck, he then told me I owed $ 49 for fuel, I showed him the paper work that proved there was more fuel in it now then when I picked up the truck. When I wouldn't back down on the extra charges he said he was going to find someone else to deal with me, so I followed him, just so I could hear what was being said and show the next person up the food chain my paperwork, we went into the office and they finally came up with a charge of $0.43 because I was 1 mile over on the mileage they gave me when I picked up the truck. They took half a hour trying to figure out a way to throw on a extra charge. Secure facility, kind and understanding staff; having accommodations such as: washrooms, drinking fountains, carts, dumpster service (if needed), and items to purchase that aide in moving and storage has made this experience unique and exceptional! When construction of the old building began our contents was covered in drywall dust as the tops are open and not really covered. Nice facility with great staff but the loading unloading area is tight and made it impossible to honor the personal space issue. Also .since we had to use an elevator it was even more of a problem avoiding people. So if you are trying to avoid people due the virus this may not be the best option.murray b. | First Impressions
