You need an express return and checkout. It took me 30 minutes to checkout when I returned the trailer. Much too slow.

Gale MMy problem was more with the Armstrong Road location in Kingston. I called a couple of hours before to confirm that we could drop off there and when I arrived we were informed that there was no room for our truck. We were charged for the extra miles that it took us to drive to the other location on princess street. The worker at Armstrong Road told us we could go there and do the self return to return the truck, but when we arrived we couldn’t do it because we were at the wrong location. Thankfully the manager called us and fixed the situation which we appreciated. It was frustrating after such a long day of moving.

CAMERON MInteraction with employee was limited to approximately five seconds with no communication or questions regarding fuel or mileage. I then got nickel and dimed for six, yes six litres of fuel even though the gauge was the same as when I picked it up. Very cheeky.
garry mI have found all of the staff at this location to be very pleasant to deal with. I have visited a few times and always had excellent interactions. My only suggestion would be as follows - the location has no on site parking available. The U-haul staff should all make it a habit to notify the customer of this fact ahead of time ( i.e when booking a reservation ) . I was fine but I can imagine an individual getting into a jam if they showed up alone and have no place to park their car.

MICHAEL PThe Kingston lot is WAY too small for such a busy location. I literally had to park in the middle of the lot as other cars and trucks were placed everywhere. A bit chaotic and difficult for my daughter who was picking me up. She kept getting honked at but because of vehicle placement, there was no where for her to park. The office was having system issues so unfortunately there was a back log. The staff was incredibly helpful and I don’t blame them for anything. They were just doing the best they could with what seemed to be an overly hectic morning. I tried to tell them about the missing blankets and sticky seat as I did not want any of that to reflect on me, and I did not want to be charged for the missing blankets as I never received what I ordered. I love the Kingston location and staff and I frequent them for supplies and of course rentals when the need arises. My only complaint is the location is way too small.

ZIYAD MI returned the vehicle a day early. And with less mileage that originally estimated. Being a day early should of lessened the fee I was charged, but the cost remained the same. Its 4 days later and I'm being charged an additional fee. 4 days later?? Why?
Corbin SI checked no for the equipment being well maintained as the left side taillight on the trailer I was given did not work properly. It did not work on the first test with the employee, she reset the wiring and it worked. Once in the road it stopped working again. It was intermittent, my truck gives me an alert when the lights are not functioning. I notified upon return.

cathy mWhen someone books a certain sized trailer for a move, don’t confirm that you can give them that trailer and then 48 hours before, call and tell them they have to drive to another location 90 minutes away just to pick up the trailer they need! We ended up having to take a smaller trailer and then spent 4 hours trying to Tetris everything into it. You made what was a very simple move into an absolute nightmare. The worst part was that they HAD the trailer we needed, but we weren’t allowed to use it because we were doing a one-way rental. If that’s a problem, then you could have let us know that when we rented and we would’ve made other arrangements.

Steve HI had to wait as the staff couldn’t find the keys to the 10’ cargo van so they had to do the paperwork all over again as they need to change the truck number on the contract & on return the new associate working didn’t know how to process the paperwork to print my invoice . I found the two delays very frustrating as I was on a very tight schedule & these unforeseen delays at pick up & return were an unnecessary stress on a busy moving day . The young men working were very professional & polite but seemed overwhelmed with customers Also the store layout is very congested & the front office desk is cluttered with add on sales merchandise giving the area a very dollar store appearance. I will continue to use this U haul location but hope improvements will be seen on my next visit .
MICHAEL MWhen I got there, I was looking for a specific sized trailer, none was available. When I went to leave, I noticed a slightly smaller one that would do. I rented the smaller one. Maybe it was because they were busy, but I would suggest that staff go the ‘extra mile’ to assist the customer. Otherwise, great experience.

Jay MI needed a truck for an emergency movement of a trailer as a result of a truck break-down. I appriciate the after hours pickup however no locations have pickup trucks any more and the full-size vans don't have receivers. I called U-Haul to book a truck and she told me the 10' box trucks have a hitch rcvr, so I booked that. When I got there, it did not. I noticed the 20' truck did and changed my booking after being on hold for a long-ass time. I got in the truck and it was at 1/4 tank, which in my opinion is unacceptable as you don't compensate for fuel, yet will charge me for fuel used if it's lower. I ended up returning it much fuller. This unit apparently was inspected this month (according to the U-Haul rep), but the thing has the handling of a lawn tractor!! If you turn left, then put the wheel straight, it keeps going left... you have to turn a bit to the right to get it to track straight. There was no hazard light switch. Pretty sure that's a safety issue. This was a huge mess that could have been easily solved with a truck or van that had a rcvr hitch.

LARA RI’m quite disappointed in the call centre. I was going to be an hour late and I spoke with two people at the call centre and I was told I would have to be charged for an additional day. So I took the charge and returned the equipment first thing the next morning. We were advised at the location that since we brought it back before 8am there wasn’t an additional charge. To the call centre charged us unnecessarily which is quite disappointing.

Tim BI normally enjoy the experience with uhaul. However, this time was spoiled by some strange clear oil left on the shelf and floor of the truck. I assumed it was just water, but after rubbing my sweater in it and pushing my couch into the one corner, where a puddle of this strange oil was, both were damaged. We only moved furniture so it wasn't anything we were moving. Besides this, easy and hassle free process for the rental.

stuart hThe vehicle was clean but in terrible mechanical shape making it a pig on gas, and having very poor power performance. It cost me $250 to move a camper trailer 80 km. Rip off business model. Vehicle came with 1/4 tank which means I had to put on more km to get gas. There is no record that says "under normal driving, you can expect to use x amount of fuel " this leaves the customer guessing.

I have used this location in the past to rent trailers and have always had a positive experience. I will be calling this location to let them know the truck that I dropped off has issues that need to addressed.
Steve SEasy Peasy. Onsite attendants on May 2, 2026 were very helpful, informative and accommodating. When I arrived at the storage facility, it was very very busy with many vehicles parked in the lot. One of the lot attendants moved a rental trailer so that I could park my mini van close to the entranceway. This made the process of moving big, heavy things out of storage very easy and timely for me. A small yet very generous and courteous gesture like this goes a long way to build brand loyalty. Overall, a very positive experience at this location. Pls share this comment with the onsite staff who worked on May 2, 2026: Great job. Keep up the good work. Thx.

The app said access to locker was 0500-2200 so we were there just before 1700. 2 nights in a row there was a heavier set lady working and she was outside and all she kept saying was is your access 24 hrs? I was unsure of 24hr access but was going by app. She wanted name and locker number making us feel like we were causing disruption to something we knew nothing about. Not professional in sorting anything out or taking time to properly discuss. Locker location and acess and use of carts and the in/out using our code was otherwise just fine.

I have insurance on my Peterborough locker, so I thought I had insurance on this one because I didn't sign an agreement here until after I was robbed- so I assumed it was under the same agreement. Since I don't have insurance here, I'm just out of luck, and I lost all those possessions. No follow up from the manager, no credits given, they wouldn't even show me the video. The staff was nice, but largely ineffective, and didn't take any ownership over the problem. Honestly, the Peterborough U-Haul compared to Kingston is night and day in terms of quality.

I do not see how paying 216.00 is worth being locked out of my unit the next day, this needs to be remedied or I will leave the facility and find somewhere else to use for storage. I live 7 hours away so needed to speak to someone at the facility. I called at least 40 times at different times and no one ever answers the phone. It goes to the call center. The wait time can be an hour to speak to someone and then they are unable to answer the question because they are not at the facility. I even tried speaking to my local uhaul to see if they could get through. The answer was no. Even though it is a pandemic, I think the local phone should be answered. Thanks
