With my experiences for moving down here from Alaska, and having to deal with the Alaska U-Haul, as well as the nationwide U-Haul, the Arizona U-Haul was a breath of fresh air. The manager was very helpful, concerned about my well-being and making sure that everything that was in the system was correct and up-to-date. As well as any charges that were not necessary that I was refunded for them. I would definitely recommend the U-Haul off of Benson to people that I know.

Our move-out experience was marred by other renters. They were driving a large UHaul truck and hit many of your barriers and our trailer so hard that my 3 year old granddaughter fell inside our pickup truck. (She was uninjured, just shaken.) Those people did not even acknowledge hitting our trailer. Of course, they did not apologize. Do your truck renters have to prove their ability to handle your trucks? These people are very dangerous!

The gentleman that eventually… An hour and a half later that came to remove the customer ready lock on my storage unit calmly and lightly listen to my spewing venom. How could during probably one of the busiest times of the week,. Could there be so few employees!? I highly doubt it was the employees working that are at fault… I am sure they are overrun! When I call from the storage unit location to get an update on ETA to show up so I can get into my new unit, I get transferred to a central call center that is absolutely horrendous and it’s phone answering system because it has nothing to do with storage units and directs me all over the place. Management: get a life! Work a weekend, remember what it’s like to be a overrun young front line employee, try being a customer during the time when there should be twice as many employees working… You’re too busy, looking at the bottom, line numbers and effing up your company in the process! What a horrible company U-Haul is and therefore must be to work for!

Jose C | Overall ExperienceWe rented a 5' x 5' unit but upon move-in discovered that it was only 3.5' x 5'. I informed at least four employees about the situation and no one cared! Thankfully we were able to cram everything into the smaller unit. The office was closed when we moved our items in so I called the 800 number and was told I had to speak to someone at the local office. So the next day, I spoke to a manager, Jesus, who said there was nothing he could do while our items were in there. Upon checkout I mentioned it to the clerks and they did not care in the least! Said there was nothing he could do about it as that is how U-Haul measured it...as though U-Haul is a separate company. Said he would mention it to his manager but she would say the same thing. Did not care in the least that this will happen to the next person who rents that unit. Never once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience or take any responsibility for the screw up! I paid for a 5 x 5 unit but that is not what I was provided access to.

I cleaned out the storage locker and left the door closed. Then called to ask if the access key card needed to be returned. I was told by a nice customer service agent to not worry about the closed door but that I needed to return the key card to the rental facility door the street and that he would close out my rental and notify the local store that the door was left closed. After waiting in line for 25 minutes at the local store, I was told I needed to provide a picture of the open cleaned out locker. I asked if I had to come back and wait in line again to show the photo to which he uncompassionately replied “yes”. Had someone explained this procedure in advance, it would have been so much more helpful as it caused me miles of travel and several hours of hassle. The multiple in-store agents I dealt with were very unprofessional and unhelpful. This is coming from someone (me) with over 40 years in sales and customer service. Oh well!
BRYAN F | Overall ExperienceI had several problems while I was using uhaul storage. Frequently there would be technical issues preventing me from accessing my storage unit. I've gone there before and it had been completely unlit. Sometimes there were no carts for moving things and as well sometimes there was just trash everywhere that would stay there for some time (I'm assuming because this location was run by another location that they only came over and checked on it when they had to) I also had a situation where I needed to get into my storage unit and had not paid on time that month (my fault) but had since paid my balance probably a week prior before trying to access my storage unit and the non-pay lock was still on my unit (its fine people forget) so I went to the office to have it removed and the employee working there confirmed i paid and the lock shouldn't be there but didn't know how to remove the lock and called his manager because they weren't there and asked how to remove it and essentially from what I could glean they couldn't find the key and he just told me they wouldn't be able to do it that day and to come back the next day when the manager was in. This would have been less frustrating if it was the first time I wasn't able to access my storage unit and if this wasn't the only time of my week I was able to go out to my storage unit especially because the facility locks and closes at 10pm which I was not aware of until it happened to me one night (thankfully i was finished and locked things up but just forgot something i meant to grab from my unit) because I thought it was a 24 hour facility but I guess that only really applies to the outdoor units. On that note the door to the indoor units can easily be pulled open and was even recommended to me by an employee at one point as a solution to a tech issue they were having that prevented me from accessing my storage unit. As well frequently the main gate was just open because it had broken again. I really can't think of time something hasn't been broken when I went to my storage unit. Once it was the elevator and heck the lights above my storage unit didn't work for the first year or so I had it. At the end of the day it was an overpriced storage unit I needed in a pinch and I'm glad to be rid of. Next time I will just find a higher quality company or fair local business to store with before checking out any of the uhaul locations in town. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

When I asked why the office personal didn't make rounds to just insure the facility was secured, they told me they weren't allowed nor trained to do that. For the price charged by Uhaul, as well as their advertising of sure a secure place, disappointment doesn't even cover my reaction. Needless to say, I have move out of my unit.

The rep did NOT place the unit rental in the system at all, so I had to waste more time in store setting that up the next morning. Then, on May 6th, I was having issues badging into the gate of the storage facility, which at that point I called customer service to see if they could assist me. The rep on that call advised me totally WRONG information, and once again, I had to delay my day and waste MORE time going back into the office to retrieve a different card badge. I would say train the reps in the call center to handle people's requests more efficiently. If they do not know exactly what to do or how to proceed assisting a customer- ASK.

The new U-Haul site in Santa Fe needs an orange stripe in drive to U-Haul facility. The open drive also leads to a different business which can mistakenly be taken. Please make it easy for customers. It's a very nice facility otherwise.

I even called the morning of moving in and they still said yes I would get the promotion. When I arrived they said not valid due to availability. I could have looked elsewhere before going there. I was on a time limit so that was inconvenient for me. Plus I had to wait until another customer was finished moving in they were using all the carts and elevator very inconvenient. And I just didn’t plan on having to pay first month since I was told otherwise. And the person who helped me his answer was well that’s a call center. U-Haul had it advertised in truck even I could’ve gone somewhere else. People in Las Vegas location were very helpful though. And just incase they weren't left open the staff worker told us to just "pull on the middle door hard because the lock is broken on that." How is this a secure unit?? No lights that work outside of that locked area as well. A little off putting coming out of there and then seeing people riding bikes late at night in the unit. Also, office staff are pretty much useless. Don't answer phones. More concerned with playing on their phones or hanging out outside chatting with the other workers while we wait inside for assistance.
