You can hire a new service associate. The woman who walked us through our rental was *extremely* rude, unhelpful, and all associates were unmasked in the middle of a global pandemic. 0/10 would not recommend.

I want to commend Ismael Caraballo at the South Street U-Haul branch for exceptional service. I had waited 40 minutes past my appointment for the staff at the West Lafayette U-Haul branch to appear on Nov 16. I feared that I would be late for a connection that I needed to make. A call to the Lafayette branch resulted in immediate service and a goodwill discount due to the inconvenience and extra miles that I had to travel across town. Mr Carballa was very friendly and had me on my way in just minutes. The truck he provided was clean, easy to operate, and quiet. The check-in at end of my trip by Mr. Carballo was quick and courteous.

I am disappointed that we are only provide one swipe card to disarm the alarm, as it looked like it was all code driven when I signed up. This needs to be fixed in the future.

1. No one wore a mask in the facility 2. I brought my own disinfecting wipes and they were black by the time I wiped down the wheel and seats - disgusting. 3. There were loads of 10 ft trucks -10 or more and they made me drive a 15ft truck.

This was the only uhaul I saw with the cleaning supplies displayed. At least they look clean.

Be sure the equipment is in perfect working order. It seemed that the brakes on our pull behind trailer were not adjusted correctly because we had a problem on our way to FL and lost 3 1/2 hours waiting for roadside assistance. Getting roadside assistance was more difficult and a bit confusing and took more time than we would have like but in the end someone came and fixed the issue and we were not charged extra. .

The only small issue that I had was that the trailer I rented was dirty and needed to be clean. Your employee that checked me in offered to clean out the trailer which he did. This delayed my departure from the check in

If the clerk did not believe fuel level was full, he should have said so at check on. That is ridiculous and likely will influence my choice on a rental company next time. Otherwise, he was very pleasant on check in and at return.

I feel like the rate per mile is a little high. Now I know that's corporate decision, but in reality it should be more like 55 or 60 cents per mile. I think you guys should also require a mini course on how to safely drive a truck and prevent damage. Cause every time I get a uhaul I feel like I need to take a hundred pictures of it because they are so damaged.

The staff at this facility are A+. I needed to rent a small trailer for 12 days. The website only allowed retail for a shorter duration. The lady who helped me found out how I could rent the trailer for an extended time-period. The man who assisted me in pickup and drop-off was very kind and very helpful. 2 thumbs up!

I booked a truck through UHaul.com from the 1090 W. Sagamore Pkwy. All I can guess is the size truck I needed was not available there, and UHaul.com switch the pickup location to 3861 South St. Not being familiar with W. Lafayette and Lafayette, I didn't see that a location switch had been made. When I went to the Sagamore location to pickup the truck, a person, slouched in a chair and apparently on duty, said I was booked at the Lafayette Center location and nothing more. His lack of customer service irritated me. You would think, but maybe UHaul doesn't think this way, he would see I was in a pickle considering I had planned to pickup there. You would think UHaul's persons on duty could offer some assistance, some token assistance, anything other than a slouching blank stare. Surprised and irritated I asked, "What does that mean?" He replied, "They have your truck and we don't." At the South St. location, I encountered more sitters who seemed afflicted by some drudgery. The guy on duty who processed me handed me the key and pointed outside saying the truck was in the parking lot. "Look at the back of the truck, lower right side for this number," showing me the number on the key tag. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the Lafayette/W. Lafayette UHauls, but to me some indication that UHaul is glad for my business and some customer service would be nice.

Keep gas tanks at full. I was told it was just above a half tank, and to bring it back at a half tank, and was then charged $8 for not having the gas at "9/16" of a tank. I had to argue with the person at the location that I had even fueled it ip, even though the mileage I drove clearly indicated that I would have had to. I will never rent from this location again, all over $8 they could have easily waived but chose not to. I actually have a second part of my move that I will need a truck for, but will be looking elsewhere. Up until that point, I had a great experience.

I left because I could save $71 a month on a same-size unit. So I moved my things to Affordable Family Storage, right next door. Also, the ceiling above my unit dumped lots of little dirt and what looked like plaster chips on top of my furniture. The facility outside of my unit was clean, but the ceiling above my unit was not in good repair and left debris on my things. It wasn't so much that I'd move, but it was annoying. Yet when I learned I could have a better roof and save big $$$ each month, I bolted. Finally, I was told at the beginning of my stay with U-Haul, that we pay a month ahead, so imagine how disappointed I was at the end to learn you would not refund me my unused days after just paying rent through October 27th. I call that theft. As long as I live in Lafayette, I cannot recommend your facility to anyone. I am fully aware that eventually the rates will go up at my new unit. But until that time, I am saving $852 a year over what you charged. Since I am on a fixed income, THAT is a LOT of money!

I brought the truck back on 1/2 a tank like they told me too but my receipt is saying the gas was slightly under a 1/2 and I'm being charged $10.50 for about $1 worth of gas.

The equipment was like driving an old grain truck. The exhaust was blown out on it leaking funes in the cab and into the box so now we have exhaust smoked household items beds etc, the coolant was blowing out of the overflow into my brand new driveway and then it decided to die and need a service call delaying my return to work by 4 hours, and that cost me 200 bucks for the night. So yea no i will be going to penske next time instead of renting high mileage ragged out junk. You make millions, get some trucks that are quality or at least fix em.

Clearly designate drop off areas. Green tent was more than full. Telling me to drop it in the empty space by the other trailers was not helpful. Then to tell me that you want it in a different space was frustrating.

Female staff were quiet and unwelcoming upon entry to customer area. With social distancing, they needed to speak up a bit so they can be heard. No smile, no accepting attitude at all! The male staff person was very nice. He greeted me and quickly check the vehicle and confirmed the miles and cost. He then thanked me.

On our way cleaning out the storage I was approached in a rude manner by a woman who worked there. However, Kathi has been a joy! I’ve stored there for the last 3 years and Kathi has been attentive. Caring and thorough. If there was a problem Kathi would quickly address is and rectify it with the best customer service possible. It outweighs the actions of others there. I would recommend anyone to store here just to have that same great experience that Kathi has provided.
