Masks should be a choice much as I chose to serve this Country in the Navy, I do not like being talked down to by a pompous a$$ who tells me to put one on... I might feel leniency towards him except when I point out the clerk beside him not wearing one and he replies, "He's behind the clear sheilding"... And I'm on the other side so lose the attitude. You can require or request but to demand almost pissed this old sailor off. This has nothing to do with Ballinger or Big Lake but with the Uhaul customer service representative. We booked the reservation for a 10' truck a week before we needed it. I called Uhaul customer service to see about adding a day and some more miles to our rental. The person I spoke to said she could add extra miles and that for an extra day it would cost 40 dollars. Before I hung with the representative I asked if our truck was at the Big Lake location she said it was. We left from San Angelo, TX to Big Lake, TX which is an hour and 8 minutes away. We get there and they don't have our truck, he said he didn't have a 10' foot truck for about a week. He called Uhaul customer service to find out about booking another truck. The closes truck they had was in Ballinger, TX which is back the way we came an hour and 40 mins away. That made our trip an extra 2 hours and 48 mins instead of them just telling us that Big Lake didn't have a truck and that Ballinger had one which is 36 mins away from San Angelo. The website said that we were to get 50 dollars if the place that we reserved our truck at didn't have it. I would like to see about getting that.Christopher K.

You need a better system for addressing concerns of customers, while out with YOUR equipment. I was trying to put gasoline into a van(which I've never used before) and the type of gasoline wasn't visible. I called the store and the lady put me on hold right away. I waited about 5 minutes and then called back. Same thing happened. After about the 5th try she started sending me straight to some voicemail. I just remember thinking I'm glad this isn't life or death. I use this location all the time, and I understand that you guys get busy, but you need a better system to address customers needs or concerns while they're out with your equipment is basically what I'm trying to say. Would I use you guys again maybe... would I recommend you to someone else probably not.CRYSTAL W.
I went to the store twice, once to reserve a truck and once to pick it up. Both times my credit card needed to be input manually because the chip reader AND the NFC reader did not work. Very odd. Why have the features if those methods don't work. Also, there are not enough customer parking spaces (three regular, one handicapped). Aside from these two issues, this location is great with a large selection and friendly service.CARSON S.

The clerk was very rude with a negative attitude and wanted to argue that the balance I received online was not the correct balance. She tried to make me pay more without double-checking. Once she passive-aggressively checked, she admitted that I was correct and price matched the online quote that I initially received from the website. After we departed Uhaul, approximately 4-5 hours later, the 'Check Engine' light began to indicate that something was wrong. The truck had difficulty shifting, and would not go above 3,000 RPM. We called a mechanic to come to fix it and then we were sent on our way without further issues.Ruth F.

The facility and staff were helpful. My only concern is the inability of staff to maintain accurate records that I sent in to establish that I relinquished ownership of the contents of my unit. The first hard copy of the signed form and the key were lost. The second email was not acknowledged. It took a third attempt and approximately 16 months before the contract was finalized. This caused undue stress and made it seem as though I did not do my part on stating that I was giving up the rights to the contents in the unit. I was not living in state and had to conduct this through email and phone calls. I tried to inform staff initially to avoid such an encounter and it happened anyway.Malinda i. | Overall Experience
