We spent sometime trying to locate the correct return U-Haul facilitie with your clerk to no avail and didn't really know where we needed to return the truck which when time wasn't available to waste was taken an it made the return quite hectic as unable to be verify the return with Manteca as it was closed and so we kept the truck an extra day making it two extra days okay

I was told that the store was open on New Years Day until 7:00. I was also told if I returned the trailer on Monday, the charge was for 2 days, not 3. While the contract may be clear on the 24 hour schedule for the "Per day" rental, the salesperson was not. Otherwise, I wouldn't have pushed myself to get the trailer back before 7:00 pm, and missed watching the Rose Bowl with family. The young man is very helpful otherwise, but verbally made it sound that as long as I returned the trailer by 7:00 pm, it was just a 2-day charge. This was somewhat frustrating. I didn't argue, because the contract is a 24 hour based "day"...but it was very misleading for him to tell me it would be a 2 day charge if it was returned on the 1st. Otherwise, this is a very well run store.

It would be nice if the employees would say they’d b right with you or something to that affect. I’ve been there several times in the last two weeks, and I’ve only heard someone say it once. When it’s busy, customers should know that the employees see them and acknowledge them. Just good customer service.

Lodi location-I am a 63 y.o. single woman who just sold and packed up my home, and am moving out of state, I was putting most of my belongings into a UPAK storage container, but I needed a small trailer to take my two harps, clothing and some personal items with me to Spokane, Jerome, the manger at the Lodi location, did not tell me the 5x8 trailer I had reserved weeks in advanced might NOT be available at his location the day of my move. First glitch. When I arrived at 7:15 he said,, "Didn't you get the email?" NO, I had called the day before to confirm and was told it would be ready. So, as I was driving off to Stockton to get the trailer while movers were sitting at my house with nothing to do. he called me and said they found something in "inventory". I went back and he attached a 6x12 trailer to my little Rav 4. It was huge, and low, and once loaded with my small load, the hitch dragged on the ground. That was clearly not going to get me to Spokane. I had also been charged over $1200 for a trailer I didn't ask for, hadn't budged for, nor was it appropriate for my little car. Why would he even hitch it up to my car? My car wasn't rated for such a large trailer and I know he knew that, but he kept saying, "What do you wane me to do?" I asked him to find me a 4x8 or 5x8 but he insisted he couldn't do that. Jerome acted like this was somehow my fault. Of course we had to unload the 6x12 and I returned it. My plan to take a small load of essentials with me while the bulk of my home went into a upack storage container, were really messed up. I had to ask the movers to come back a second day because of the delays and it cost me hundreds more. I didn't sleep all night trying to figure out what to do. I had $25.000 worth of delicate musical instruments, boxes of other items , and 3 cats and their carriers to somehow get to Spokane, and no trailer. I couldn't possibly get all of this into the Rav4. I was so upset. I got up the next morning, called the uhaul number and they told me there was a 4x8 trailer at the Lodi location. Surprise, surprise. When I did go in to pick it up, Jerome was acting angry with me which was disgusting, because it was MY plans that were messed up, not his. Why didn't he call ME the minute he knew he had that smaller trailer, so I wouldn't be without a trailer and wouldn't keep worrying? Jerome kept asking me what I wanted him to do. I wanted him to do his job. i wanted him to put me, the customer, who had spent hundreds of dollars there on packing materials, and was about the spend hundreds more on a trailer, first. I wanted to feel like he would do whatever it took to make it right, but he acted like some sort of victim instead. I wanted him to do whatever it took to help me so my already high stress levels would be reduced but he did't. It was a very stressful and negative experience and I had planned so carefully, having made that reservation weeks in advance. I felt like I had to be

Submitted a reservation on-line over a week in advance, only to find out one day ahead that I might not have a truck. Turns out I had to drive an extra 4 hours to pick it up in a distant location. All because I was going long distance and renting one-way. I would never do this again -- too risky. Poor policy with U-Haul. Does not serve the customer well.

I was forced to drive an extra 30 miles to pickup the trailer from a location othe4 than the one I reserved. U-Haul needs to change your reservation system so some one will know where they are actually going to get to pick it up. The trailer was not swept out when we picked it up but didn’t figure that out until we started loading. Since it is required to be swept I falsely assumed some one at store would verify.

Teach employees not to be rude to customers. Maybe send them to customer service training. They treated me like a criminal. I am a retired disabled veteran and never stolen anything in my life. Did not want to rent to me due to having only one phone. I am disabled and do not work. Had to give a family members phone number and wait for employee to call and make sure I am not a thief. I felt very degraded and discriminated against.

The person who helped me hooked a trailer that had exposed wires that shorted out my entire electrical system. I have photos to show the wiring. He was rude and I had to spend $23.00 on fuses. I spent 3 hours fixing and replacing fuses.

We had our reservation cancelled two days before a 80 minke on wat move. We booked a 24-foot truck, and was offered a 12-foot trick. Instead of picking up the truck in Novato and doing one trip, I had to drive to Lodi for a 17-foot truck. We ended up making three trips, which costed us $275 in gas and $350 in extra mile fees. We also were charged 3x days of rental because of the extra trips.When we explained the situation, the manage credited the account $50. We should have been credited $300. Very dissipating and will write reviews on yelp and tell other folks to stay away and go to budget!

I have rented many trucks from Uhaul and have had no problems. I have needed to rent the truck for an extra day or two without any hassle. This last time I had rented the 26 foot truck and needed it an extra day . I called the Lodi office and requested the extra day and air was told no. I explained that the truck is full. I was told to empty it and get it back right now. They called me every 15 minutes wanting to know how much longer. So I had to unload it at the place I had just packed up. Wasn't able to get it to my destination. Then when I took it back in I was charged another day!! I was told it was either a $150 late fee or $39 for an extra day but didnt get to keep the truck!! Plus they also got the money from the next person who rented it that day. They got paid double for the truck. AND my stuff is right back where it was! I might as well have just thrown the $182 I was charged in the garbage! I didn't get to move my things anywhere. I don't have that kind of money to do that. I was in tears when I left. Awful experience. I will never rent from Uhaul ever again and will discourage anyone I know that is thinking about renting from Uhaul and tell them how bad I was ripped off and how the Lodi office did not care of the situation they were putting me in. I still have to move my stuff and can't afford to rent another truck. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. Thanks Uhaul.

When originally booked, I moved locations and was told that they would honor the price. I confirmed multiple times and was told yes over the phone. It was clear that she was wrong cause when I was going to pick up the truck at my new location, the price had doubled. I had to cancel this booking and book elsewhere. Once I rebooked in Lodi, Ca he got my phone number wrong so I could never give Uhal my number in system. My address was imputed wrong, and they charged the wrong card, my fathers when they specifically said I would be able to close out the account once upon dropping off my truck. I've asked to reverse the payment so I can write it off for moving purposes and I still have yet to hear back, resulting me chasing any way I can. Overall this was a terrible experience, I would most likely not recommend Uhal to a friend. I feel like my experience has absolutely been a let down. Ive talked to about 8 people, only two of them were nice and knowledgable. The others were often rude when they sensed my frustration. I also feel like the system and technology your company has is very outdated, unorganized, and does not accommodate the customer when it comes to and experience such as booking, reserving, picking up and dropping off, instore, online or on the phone. I feel like if I'm going to do this in the future I would book with another company who has the willingness to cater to their clients. I've dedicated about 2+ hours of my time trying to get clarity on bookings and CC payments that absolutely got botched due to people not fully understanding their roles and responsibilities and what they need to accurately communicate to the customers of Uhal.

Tried to rip me off for an extra gallon of gas. Claimed could only measure fuel in 16th (this is not in rental contract) and tried to charge me for 3 gallons. When I told counter person this was not acceptable he said there was nothing he could do. Even worse was his asst who kept laughing while I was talking. When I asked him why he was laughing his response was "cause I can laugh". Asked to speak with mgr who, of course, was not around. I went back to gas station and put in 1.5 gallons which brought me up to required amount.

Reservation was for Manteca, I flew from LAX to Sacramento and drove to Manteca to pick up truck. Told at that time that my truck was in Lodi (24 miles) which is back towards Sacramento. This added 90 mins to my day. Alex was very good to work with there in Lodi. The person in Manteca was rude to me. There were trucks in that lot all day, and I was told that they were reserved. Same trucks still sitting there at the end of the day. Makes me not want to use uhaul again for my next move.

Things didn't go too well on this rental. I tried your self check and after finding the truck, taking pictures of damage and my ID another customer comes out and takes the truck. The rental agent rented the truck that I had reserved. It took them another half hour to straighten out the paperwork mess then told me to go outside. After another 10 minutes I had to flag down another employee for them to go get the truck from the back. I brought the truck back later in the evening and dropped the keys on the desk. The next day around 2pm I got a call asking when I was going to return the truck. I explained I dropped it off yesterday and she apologized.

My wife made a reservation over the phone for a 20 ft truck to be picked up at 8 am. I arrived promptly at 7:55 only to find a line of customers to the door with a single employee feverishly working through his Saturday morning backlog. After a 45 minute wait in line I was finally helped only to be told that my reservation had been canceled. The gentleman at the counter exclaimed "they didn't call you?" My reply was no, but I need a truck. Do you have a 20 footer for me? He told me that me truck had never been returned from the day before. I asked what else do you have. He said that all he had was a 15. That would be two trips. He agreed to credit me $25, but forgot to make a note on the contract. Upon return I had to plead my case with an unsuspecting newbie and finally a supervisor. This was undoubtedly that worst uhaul renting experience I've ever have in my life. Next time around I'll take a look at other options. And why on earth only one person working on Saturday morning?

The rate per mile is a little too high, especially for the first 50 to 100 miles, for a day, if there could be a rate for up to 50 miles and up to 100 miles, and 100+, 150+ etc. I took items using the van from 6 miles from home, but the u haul depot was 40 miles away. But there was a flat rate whether one uses 40 miles or 100 or 120 miles. Just a thought.

Equipment was clean, however no one did a walk through of the vehicle and I had to go back in and wait because of issues with the vehicle. People were friendly, but the vehicle was almost empty of gas. My first stop had to be the gas station. The did reimburse me some fuel charges. Passenger side mirror was held tight with a screw which had to be tightened and they gave me a roll of tape in case it loosened up.

Truck was dirty. I cleaned the truck as I didn't want to get charged even though it was dirty when I got it. The worst part is, I put my phone into the center console area cup holder. Little did I know that it was filled with water. My phone was damaged. I won't be using that uhaul ever again and may just start using one of your competitors for any future moves.

I use this location frequently. I haven't run into this much trouble before. The truck was dirty and lots of damage unmarked. The computers were down and it took a long time to rent. The gas gauge wasn't working and I filled too much gas on return. The parts I purchased were higher priced than other shops and did not work properly. When I asked for a refund, they denied me and told me I had to contact Customer Service which I did. Cust. Serv. told me this was unusual and I had to wait for a response. I am very unhappy with this part of the experience.

Rented trailer late afternoon. Told associate that I would be returning same day but after hours. The after hours drop off is why I chose this location. Associate listed return time as store open time, 7am. He instructed me where to park trailer after hours and where to leave paperwork. I attempted to call location the following morning to confirm that my equipment had been properly accounted for etc. You cannot reach location by any number listed. You can only reach uhaul customer service. Uhaul customer service also could not reach store location. After 15mins on the phone while they were trying, customer service left a message for location and told me that they had probably not finished their paperwork for the day yet. 9 hours after location opened I received a terse voicemail wanting to know where the equipment was and why I had not called to extend rental as they had customers who were waiting to rent the trailer I had. I attempted to call the store again. Again I could only reach customer service. Again customer service could not reach store. Again customer service left store a message. After approximately another hour I received another voicemail from a different associate who apologized because the equipment was indeed returned and they had my paperwork. The problem was resolved, eventually, after causing me much grief and worry. When I sign a contract with someone making me responsible/liable I want to have confidence that the people I am working with know what they are doing. There is no method of communication between customer and location. There is very poor communication between customer service and location. There even seems to be problems with communication between associates at the location.

I don't think it is fair of UHaul to charge $7.00 per day for use of the dolly on the truck. What if I only used it for one of the three days I had rented it for? Also, the Safemove insurance is a scam. I was charged DOUBLE for each of the three days I rented the truck. I could have saved about $50 all told if these practices were made more fair.

Alex Thorpe, the hitch installer, saved the day. With some confusion, the parts needs for my 2017 Lexus RX350 were not ordered, or were delayed for some reason. I arrived for my apt, but no parts available. Alex said he would call me when all was ready. He did. A very nice young man, talented, and a great representative of your company. Thank you Alex!!!

I would advise customers to not use their debit card because the initial charge is higher due to insurance and what not: they do tell you that when you return the vehicle you will get a refund- but with my debit card the credit comes 3 days later ????

Those employees need a new air conditioner....poor things, in this recent heat wave. The lobby area was pretty warm. Other than that, good experience reserving online, and paperwork went quickly. It was busy....maybe another employee to help with rentals.

Picked up a 5'×9' trailer 1hour early, all good easy, when I dropped it off, they were so busy, but a young man approached me and said he would be right with me. In 1 minute there was a guy unhooking the trailer, and in 2 minutes I had a printed receipt in hand.Didn't even get out of the truck. And was driving away. Did I mention it was 101 degrees. Hats off to this place.

The delivery point in Brooksville is limited due to having one delivery person that has to cover a large area. I thought I would give U Haul another chance and found the location here in Lodi on Cherokee outstanding. The manager has been very helpful, honest, patient and really listens to the customer. Change the "Speed Limit 55" sign on trailers to reflect to Never Drive Trailer Faster Than Safe. Many states across this beautiful country have increased their speed limits and for many towing is the same as posted speed limit. When driving 55 we are in the way. With upgrades to vehicles braking, steering and suspension systems this should not be an issue. More than likely persons renting trailers pay little attention to the sign on the trailer.

This location is by far the best Uhaul facility I have ever done business with. The main reason is because of how it is run. Each and every one of the staff are knowledgeable, very professional, extremely helpful and patient and this is consistent. Myself or one of my family members has gone to this location for renting moving vehicles and/or trailers and we've purchased moving supplies several times as well. This location has been very busy each and every time I have rented from them, yet you don't mind waiting because of how you see they treat each customer. More Uhaul locations should be run like this particular one. I drive 50 miles from my home passing four other Uhaul rental places to consistently rent from this location. This is definitely an A plus rated business.

The gal helping me was kind, effeciant and awesome. When we discovered I had no plug on my wires for trailer she got her manager on it right away. Within 10 minutes he had attended to me assessed the situation, picked the part I needed, wrote it and the work order, added the wiring plug, tested it, hooked it up for me and I was off.
