The staff was extremely friendly & very helpful. The inside as well as the outside of the truck were good. The brakes on the truck were not good at all & you could start the truck without the key. The doors did lock so that was a little comfort

shantel j | Overall ExperienceEverything worked out great as can be expected. My only problem had nothing to do with u-haul - it was trying to get gas with a 26' super truck towing my car on a u-haul trailer. I tried a truck stop and went to the truck pumps where there was lots of room and all they had was diesel. Then went to the gasoline pumps at the same place and had to block access for a little bit.

COY TFirst of all I was totally ripped off my first rental days was on my Venmo card two days paid upfront, paid for a extra two days a total of 4 days. So, place wasn't ready kept an additional 2 days so they charged me over 350.00 for 6 days, so I paid double they charged my Bank card again.

TERRY BAll the drop location are not open or will not take equipment in. One of the location I went to don't take auto hauler. Two locations was closed and room to drop off equipment. I was on the phone with customer service couple of times. The location I drop off I arrived around 5:05 pm I was in return lane looking around the key drop off area. A employee walked pass me no help!! The employee walked pass me and lock the door went in sided. Couple minutes later when the employee was heading out to get in their car. That's when I was point out the key drop off location. I was billed one day rental.

Schemika GThe team at the Madison location was initially helpful and apologetic due to the fact that I had been sent to three different locations to pick up my tow dolly and had traveled well over 30 miles. The lady told me she would add 50 miles to my contract since I had driven to multiple locations. She never added the miles. The gentleman inside the store told me I could not remove the tow dolly when I went home. I informed him I had a motorcycle that I needed to load and I would need to utilize the ramp. He told me I had to go home and load the truck first and then return. An additional 42 miles. No one at the Wedgwood or Whites Creek Pike informed me of this nor did either location apologize for the fact I was sent to both locations to get a tow dolly, but neither had one. When I returned the next day, the gentleman who secured my tow dolly to the truck told me one of the safety chains was broken but would not repair the chain or replace the tow dolly. He told me to simply lay the chain in the tray of the tow dolly after wrapping it around the front axle and it would be fine. It was not fine. The chain came unraveled and was repeatedly striking the road and causing sparks to occur. I had to pull off to the side of the road to rewrap the chain. While the truck worked fine and I eventually arrived to my final destination, the experience was both distasteful and disappointing and the personnel at the three locations, unprofessional.
dean sCommunicate upfront that the truck needs to be loaded prior to the auto transport. Clean the vehicles there was dog hair all throughout the cab and someone’s dirty underwear. I rented a dolly and it was never loaded.

Israel GI had valuable and memorable things that got ruined with mold there were snake skins like I found 4 to 5 snake skins in different areas in my storage! There was all kinds of gravel! Which came from where I don’t know cause the floor walls and ceiling was concrete! The whole storage smelled of mold and that’s just with big items that were not boxed! So other things that were boxed I have not checked yet! I will be filing an insurance claim! And I still haven’t received my deposit back yet from the truck rental I had a 55 dollar off coupon from the corporate office! Thanks for your time! Have a good day!

BENJAMIN C | First ImpressionsI always use U-Hauls trucks and storage for my moves however this time my experience was dreadful so much to the point that I had in a panic attack a severe one The unit that I was supposed to be renting and your expert told me would be large enough for my furnishings to store was not I had to then go to another location to when your customer service representative call they said it was available I get there it was not I lost an hour with my movers trying to get a unit therefore a one-day move turn into a two and a half day move and I at the end of this move am exhausted and dissatisfied and have lost money. When I do move out of my unit I would no longer sadly be using U-Haul for anything going forward in the future nor can I recommend it to family or friends

I email them to tell them I don't want to lose my unit cause my mom is in there. Then October come and I get an email saying final attempt but they sold the unit. Now I can't get anyone on the phone.. would not recommend anyone here. I can't replace my mom or my engagement ring

There were dirt dauber nests on every wall and was it was severely infested with roaches. The facility treated the unit for roaches but did nothing about the dirt daubers. We had to remove them ourselves.

marquari K | First ImpressionsMice and red wasps were a significant problem in my unit. I was assured at move in that pest control was a top priority for the facility. All off my items were stored in plastic bins, not cardboard boxes. However, several priceless heirlooms were damaged beyond repair by mice nests, urine, and feces. I was stung last summer when I opened my unit for sorting some items. I reported the wasps nests, and knocked down the nests myself repeatedly. My account was on autopay. More than once, I received a bill with “late fees” because the billing was not processed as expected. When I tried to contact the store, I went into corporate UHaul phone systems that were unable to resolve the issue or a never ending loop only to be told I’d need to physically visit the local office and pay my bill (even though it was in auto pay). Brandon and John are fantastic employees. Their hands are tied by an inefficient corporate structure that surrounds them. Note: The fencing at the back of the property near the train tracks is not secure. Two different times I was at my unit (toward the back of the property), the same couple was hanging out under the covered porch area. One time, they were arguing, and the argument escalated into physical blows. I immediately locked my unit and reported the incident to the office. I was unable to complete my unit sorting at the time due to the incident. This was not due to the fault of the workers. Staff have been accommodating, helpful, and customer service has been as expected. I have been credited fees and accommodated, but the pests were never under control. Building B has a mouse problem. Please ensure this is taken care of before promising patrons that their heirlooms and items will be safe from pests. Thank you to Brandon and John for their continued solutions. I would only recommend an indoor, climate controlled storage company/space future forward. Thank you.

Each UHaul staff member was pleasant, helpful, every time I walked to the counter - in spite of delays with payment methods due to address changes - and handled each request I saw and heard fully.
Sally M | Overall ExperienceI transferred my larger #45 unit to someone that shared half the space the last few months, we went inside the store in June 2020 with driver's licenses, credit cards, signed, auto pay, no longer my unit. In Dec 2020, I got the smaller #91 unit and discovered that my name was still on her #45 account online, I couldn't get to my #91 online because I was listed as hers for #45, her info also on it instead of my #91, couldn't pay my account or set up my usual auto pay. I received aggressive emails with a former manager's name at the bottom, the new manager of the past year not on the e-mails. No one could fix any of this with MANY unpleasant and lengthy attempts, no one could take responsibility, calling the 800# didn't help after much effort, and could never reach the Madison storage unit location by phone. I also had an especially hostile encounter with the employee Rory who did not respect me as a customer or believe anything that I said I was told and charged me a $39 late fee the first time I went in to try to get auto pay fixed in person since I couldn't get anything fixed online or through the 800#. If not for all this for almost a year, all else would have been good.

We arrived 15 minutes before closing with 2 trucks to return and 2 storage units reserved, and the man on staff walked in from his truck, told me they closed in 15 minutes and I should come back tomorrow. I asked to get started with the time available and finish our transaction- he then threw something down, and was as minimally helpful as possible in acknowledging and printing receipt. I had to ask for additional information 3 separate times about the units and where to find them. He was out by 7 pm.

Anytime the parking stall has blue paint it means that it is Handicap. My last day there an employee made me park where it was painted blue. She argued that it is not Handicap. Just because you start to scrape away the painted sign doesn't make it not Handicap, there is still blue and a ticket can still be issued.

I was not given a refund for the days I didn't use the storage, but conveniently charge 25.00 if I was a day late. I moved out the 28th of the month so that's 5 days before the next bill was due. I wasn't given the number to file a claim for the items destroyed or cleaning fee for the furniture that rats have climbed all over..

I received confirmation that I had a drive up unit reserved and when I got there after a 12 hour drive the facility had a second floor unit that was only accessible by a huge ramp. They were unapologetic about this and had no offers or attempts of rectifying the problem, I went to another facility.
Kevin W | Overall ExperienceWe were displaced due to a horrible tornado that took out our home and belongings. I was loading items into my storage unit at the Madison, TN location alone. The ramp to the second floor unit was not large enough to pull the cart up with the boxes. It is a huge mess. I asked someone at the counter if they could just help me pull the cart up the ramp, which would take one minute of muscle. To which, a very dirty, unkempt woman with a big septum piercing looked at me and said "that's not my job sorry" and her coworker appeared to be concerned, but that's all that it was, appearances. She kept herself behind the counter while I cried. My posessions were broken from attempting to go up this ramp. So after losing almost everything, I lost more because one person couldnt be bothered to lend me a hand. This is absolutely shameful, and the Madison location should be ashamed of themselves. We are all Nashville neighbors, and the least that someone could do, is show a litle compassion. Disgusting.
