Merly D | Overall ExperienceThe mobile check-in process is horrible. I was told I couldn't do in-person check-in even though I had selected that during the reservation. The counter person walked me through using your horrible web app, which took about 5 minutes to do. What would have been more efficient would be to just check me like the old days when companies thought customer experience was important. When I finally got the key at the counter, I walked through the lot to find the truck. It was in a row with other trucks in front and behind it, so it could not be moved. So I walked back down to the building and had to be given keys to the truck that was first in the row instead. As I drove away, I realized the fuel was at 3/4 of a tank. I called the store and confirmed I was not expected to return this truck full. I was told to return it at 3/4. When I asked how I was supposed to know when the truck was at 3/4, she told me I'd need somebody to sit in the truck and let me know when it was at 3/4 so I could stop pumping fuel. Apparently, she didn't realize the fuel gauge only shows the level if the vehicle is running. Was I expected to fuel the vehicle with it running? All in all, I see absolutely no reason to be a return customer.
JOEL CI go out of my way to use this location due to the fact that they are very professional here and it is always a pleasant experience dealing with the staff at this location.

AMY FI spent over an hour trying to check myself in as well as helping other customers as we were told we could not be helped. We were told that only trailer appointments and others would be served. There were about 4 different groups of people attempting to log in. If this is a corporate push, then shame on you all for your lack of foresight into what your employees are enduring. I will never go back to Manchester Uhaul and I have asked for a called back from the managers and corporate. Your logistics and attempt at streamlining were horrible and after this experience that took an hour out of our moving time. We just moved 3 households into one and had zero issues with other Uhauls. In fact there was a mobile option but we were able to check in at the desk. This is clearly not a company wide play. And if it is im glad other branches had the wherewithal to not follow it to a T. Do better, it's sad that your staff has to consistently turn away customers and helping because corporate told them to..

THOMAS YGreat folks work here at the Manchester location! I don't move much. The last time I moved was over 20 years ago and back then, clerks walked around with clip boards and hand written forms! I stay in the locations where I move usually so this was a brand new experience. I learned many knew computer skills navigating this app with the General Manager! It truly was a great experience! Knowledge is power!
Laura KEquipment was clean (cabin was clean, rear of truck had small bits of scrap metal no cleaned out) but old - whistling windows, no USB plug, loose front end - so truck floated when driving.

MOHAMED GUsually good experience but I moved to CT and my temp CT license which is valid in CT is not good enough for Uhaul. I'm lucky to have my wife with me that day. Had to get back in line again and took about 30 minutes lo complete checkout. Whixh I did a reservation for tollland. Had to goto manchester out of my radius paid more and fill out out reservation online got 100 emails but thst morning I only needed a mobile pickup. Need fewer messages and only what is required at pickup. Not do all that and redo a reservation while at the desk.

Ashish PThe hitch was installed fine but the hitch wiring was installed extremely poorly. They just attached to the wiring in the tail light cubby and did not run it where is can be used. The way it was done in not usable at all. Not pleased
Tom KApparently I interrupted their dinner because the staff just seemed as though they couldn’t be bothered with a customer while they ate at the service desk. Overall I got the impression that they expected me to do most everything myself, which left me wondering what exactly it is that they’re needed for. Upon return, signs posted everywhere clearly state that I was to wait in the vehicle..which I did, only to be met with an associate who rolled their eyes and said “ugh, next time just come inside”. Don’t worry it won’t happen again!

ALVIN BI dropped off the trailer in the same stop I picked it up @ 1030 pm the same day I picked it up. The staff called two day later and said i need to bring the auto trailer back. the only auto transport trailer. So they charged me an another day even tho it was there the next morning.
ELICIA LI made a reservation with U-Haul Storage of Manchester West, 53-71 Spencer St, Manchester, CT 06040. The order guarantees the truck. However, when I arrived, there were no trucks available in the U-Haul Storage of Manchester West. It took more than 2 hours to finally get a truck.
Peinan ZThe rudest! I will never go back there again. If that was my only experience with U-Haul, I would never use U-Haul again. The girl who was supposed to be helping me was not helpful when I had a question. I asked to speak with the manager, he was condescending with eyes rolling. He had no idea why I was asking the question I was asking and he could care less. Also, the furniture dolly was not left on the truck. Please call me if you want more details. 860-416-9454. I plan to write more reviews about this U-Haul location. I'm from Manchester, CT., and I want people to know about my very bad experience with U-Haul Manchester.

Renting a truck is like buying a vehicle have to go through an approval process that sucks - I would not recommend Uhaul to anyone rather it’s for truck or storage this place has gone down hill fast. Staff is worse they show no quantity to customers and spend more time On their cell phone or talking to one another then helping customers and their attitude stinks

Price went up several times since signing which is not appreciated since you now have all my stuff and know I’m trapped into paying your new higher price. Felt like extortion. I paid monthly via bill pay from my bank and there were many times when you never cashed my checks (they were eventually returned to me by the bank as uncashed) and charged me late fees. Not good.

The first being the two young gentleman that helped me throughout the entire process absolutely pleasant and helpful! Answered every question I had, corrected entry problems and cudnt been more courtous n custimer friendly! Those 2 Gents were fantastic!!! 2nd part was two female at the location on 2/21/24 not helpful whatsoever, doors locked at 6:50 nor were they willing to help or answer any question. Told that all move ins are done online n that’s what I needed to do. Proceeded to do the online move in while in my car than recd a t/c stating that they were sending me a link which I never received. Watched the two females locked up the store leave while I was still trying to process my account. No assistance at all offered nor was a swipe card given to grant me access to my unit. So needless to say the info of do it online n there’s a bag w a lock n instructions inside the unit for me was not accurate nor helpful at all. Also, had questions on a reservation along with the online reservation n if I wud still be entitled to a free month of storage and not reserved two units and billed for them both. Thankfully when I returned in 2/22/24 the two gentleman were both there which I was grateful for their kinda assistance. Only outstanding issue currently is not given the free month of storage had to pay for the 1st month and advised to speak to the General Manager at that location.

However, upon moving into a brand new storage unit located in a brand new building, a window 15 feet from my storage unit started pouring water inside due to heavy rain. This is/was very concerning seeing how I paid and selected indoor storage specifically to keep my belongings out of the elements. There was another family accessing their unit right near ours who were also very disappointed.

This location ensures your belongings are safe and will remain in the same condition as when you placed them in the unit. The staff is always pleasant and has knowledge to share with customers to meet their moving (truck rental) and storage needs. If you want a successful moving/storage experience use 432 Oakland St., Manchester, Ct. 06042 location.

I made a reservation online, and had the email with the reservation number, yet when I went in, they had no record of me at all. Then, on the day I tried to move in, the facility wouldn't let me POD be in their parking lot. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this would be, as a POD and a storage unit go hand in hand. I then had to spend the entire afternoon on the phone trying to figure out what to do to make things work and had to spend even more money on renting a truck to unload the POD into and then bring to a facility. I ended up cancelling the uhaul unit altogether, never having moved in, yet was still charged and never got my money back. Overall, terrible experience.
