Consistent failure to charge at times due even though on automatic payment and resulting fraudulent charging of late payment fees. Had to challenge each and every month. Staff are disinterested and incompetent.. Facility had no a/c and no lighting for a good portion of the hot summer months. When I got there to pick up my 9 o'clock reservation there had been a line that form behind me at 9:23 the store was still not open. Upon arrival of the store employee she open the door ran to the register I gave them my information there was no apology or anything I have people waiting on me at another location who had plans for that day and we're helping me out. I gave her my tax exempt form and she tells me she doesn't know how to do it but I have to turn it in when I when I return the vehicle and they can do it then. I return the vehicle the same young lady was there who was nice and a gentleman. I handed the gentleman the tax papers and he tells me that he can't do anything it Hass to be done when you first pick up the vehicle. I explain to him that the young lady sitting over there told me that she didn't know how to do it and he said I can't do it I can credit the tax and another form on the receipt he asked me if I would want it emailed or print it and I said email was fine he said I didn't have to wait while he went through the truck. Not long after I left did I get the receipt that had no credit for the tax and the tax was still there. When I expressed my dismayed to him as I was walking out of the building I made a comment about the location not being open on time and she didn't know how to do the texting it was just very frustrated and he said that the late opening was his fault but he too didn't offer an apology. Anyhow that's when I went on Twitter which I normally do not do and expressed my dissatisfaction. They told me that the manager should be reaching out to me within three days. I thought great she'll call apologize adjust the tax everything will be all good. I got an email with aCredit for the tax nothing in the body of the email that apologize for the incident no separate email because I was told that those emails come automatically. I have yet to hear from the manager since Sunday. So I will not be using this location or recommending it ever I will use another company or drive miles to get another vehicleREGINA C.

I reserved a 5x8 trailer 4 weeks in advance and was told 2 days before I was to pickup the trailer that only 4x8 trailer was available. This inconvenience made us reduce the amount of furniture we need to move to SC.OTTO M.
Everything was quick and easy. Luckily I was able to change from a box truck reserve to a van once I arrived. Just had a quick pick-up to make down the street at Home Depot. Always hectic there. For example yes we have a second floor unit but it is accessed only by STAIRS,or we have a unit but NO elevator .. Never would I imagine walking into this place, confirmed reservation previously and would encounter the blatant rudeness, unprofessional, disrespectful behavior by these two employees. At the end of the experience it was necessary to call another location for fear of returning to this hellish experience. Javine from Somerdale, true professional, helpful walked me thru drop off on line. NEVER ever again. Amy is awesome. She spent all the time that was needed in order to answer my questions and bring up some points that I did not think of. In addition she helped me with an issue that I was having with my pool water. There was another gentlemen there, who name escapes me, but between the two of them they made one of the more stressful time is my life (moving) more pleasant . Place is very clean, they are very helpful and take pride in their work. I thank them and commend them for that. Staff did not set me up for auto-bill when I registered despite my agreement when offered. Email rent reminders state "If you are set up on autopay your bill will automatically be paid." so I assumed no action was needed but a late fee was charged. Manager Amy Lucas was initially very responsive via email indicating "I will take care of this right away" 7/16 however my $45.89 credit was never received and follow-up emails on 8/8 went unanswered. I was very disappointed by the inconvenience of having gone to pick up my truck only at that time to find out that they did not have trucks for one-way journeys and that I would have to go to another facility that was 30 minutes away. I believe this solution was non-negotiable and unacceptable, however, having no choice, I did travel out of my way to pick up the truck. I reserved a dolly when I made the reservation approximately 2 months ago. I was called on 8/26 (2days before my rental) and told that not only did they not have the correct truck size (they had a bigger truck) but that they had no dolly available either. I reserved the dolly months in advance and made my arrangements based upon having a dolly. I did not receive an apology for this, instead I was told I could call other U-haul locations to request one. Upon picking-up my truck the U-haul representative was extremely unprofessional. She cursed several times (including a few â€˜f bombs' and flirted with my boyfriend. I was appalled and had I not needed the U-haul truck that day I would have left.MEGHAN C.

Had a minor setback that the team resolved. Reserved my unit on July 8, 2021. When I went to secure the storage unit, I was told they had none available. The issue appears that the local store and the reservation online do not communicate with each other so well. Thankfully the local store was able secure a unit for me. I would have the rental truck in the front of the building. I had to walk to the back and then walk back up front to get the key inside and then walk back to the vehicle in the back. It was additional walking for mobile check in. It probably would have been faster to just check in at the counter rather than mobile check in. Just a thought to assist the person who is checking in by phone and saving the staff time.JASON F.

Facilities are clean, the people were nice. BIGGEST FLAW IS ACCESS HOURS. i spent 4 hours driving to my storage location, and upon arrival (10:30 pm) i cannot get the door to open. i call several times with no answer. i call the national line and i’m on hold for 30 more minutes. they tell me there’s nothing they can do. i check my email, it CLEARLY STATES: “24 hour access to your belongings”, but they lock the doors at 10??? what kind of madness is this…Isaiah L. | First Impressions

When we came to empty our units all of the carts were locked in another building. We needed to empty 2 10 x 10 units with no carts. We called for help an no one at the 800# would do anything to help. Half my help left because we had no carts to use. I was using a UHaul truck to move everything and the delay put me back a day and cost me time and money. It was very loud in the lobby. Many conversations going on amongst staff members. The young man checking me in was speaking with someone standing next to him and was distracted. He was distracted enough that he gave me the wrong storage unit and the manager notice when I called her for help because the map didn’t match the actual floor plan. Mask sign is on the door to wear a mask but the staff either didn’t have one on or it was hanging under their noses or under their chins. The building doesn’t have a working computer system so the doors are just propped open all day. I understand the units are locked but security of the building is non existent! I was not walked out to the van to check it nor did he even tell me where it was or which one it was. I was told to try the key in them to see which one it opens. My phone encounters with the Manager Amy Lucas were pleasant, informative/thorough and efficient. Generally U-Haul of Maple Shade was very patient, accommodating and flexible during the unit selection process and processed unit transfer(s) as necessary (that ensured I obtained the appropriate unit size and pricing for my needs). However, in my encounters of other frontline staff workers I experienced lackadaisical personas and unprofessionalism: Individuals who were not as knowledgeable or thorough, an initial failure to request updated contact information to bring my profile current, and an attempt to dissuade my need for unit transfer on site (in the absence of Mgr Amy Lucas).
