I arrived on time for my rental. During the checkout process the attendant (manager) was extremely rude. I will be glad to share the entire interaction if requested. I was told absolutely the rental had to be back at a specific time because they needed it for another rental. Not only was I texted two times while I had the rental but they reached out to my emergency contact to tell them I needed to return the rental. It was returned 30 minutes early with zero issues. Truck battery died and had to get a jump, then found that none of the phone chargers worked (cell phone died),later a tire went low so had to find air, caused me to run a few minutes late returning vehicle. In the end I got the job done.Janice A.

I received several text messages stating the equipment was due in by 5:00 pm. I arrived at 3:30 and no one was there, the doors were locked, and I had to wait 35 minutes finally a young African American lady showed up and said she was the only one there as she helped others before me. she gave a sincere apology and was very professional, however, I was late for an appointment her courtesy was second to none and I couldn't be angry at her.Willie R.

Truck was requsted for 8am, they called me the day before and advised me i couldnt get it until 12 or 12:30, and at a different location far away. Then that day i was called and told it wouldn't be available till 1:30. The guy said it wasn't his fault. The blower fan on the ac had a short in it and a loose piece of trim kept banging on the cab. The truck was clean and ran well.John D.
I reserved a rental for a 26' truck. Upon my arrival on the day my reservation was scheduled the location notified me that they didn't carry or store trucks for uhaul. Movers scheduled and extra was what I got instead of the truck I reserved and a rude scheduler at the New Orleans area. Not a service I would rely on in the future. And what tops it all was the reservation was made directly through uhaul with a live person.Sharon H.

I rented a truck from this location to move to NC. On my way I was pulled over in Alabama by two troopers ready to draw their guns on me. I was told to get off the truck and was handcuffed. The officer told me the truck was reported stolen in Georgia. The officer checked the contract on my email but he left me in handcuffs until he could get a hold of u-haul on the phone and double check everything. My 6 year old niece was traveling with me and experienced the whole thing, freaking out. This happened on May 30th. After filing a complaint with U-Haul, the store manager called me back saying the truck was never reported stolen and that the police never called U-Haul. I felt he was implying that I made everything up. I did a VIN check report through VINaudit to double check if it was a mistake from the police and it stated that the truck was reported stolen and recovered on May 30, the day I was handcuffed.Giancarlo C.

So the starter display pack that is by the front door on display that says its 39.99 on it rings up 49.99 at checkout and there was no option to adjust the price to the correct advertised price. Also when I returned the vehicle and the pads I paid for one dozen was never even opened still in sealed bag they came in and there was no option for me to be refunded for something I never even opened Was 30 mins late returning the vehicle and of course I get it cool I will have to pay for another entire day but the harassing phone calls stating that the vehicle cant be extended and needs to be returned right now or its being reported stolen. Like the amount of phone call and text stating about it being reported as stolen was a bit much I would have to say. aJustin D.

Explain charging policies better to customers. Provide customers with a refund when there is an error on u haul part instead of over charging customer and telling them that there is nothing they can do, the card is already charged. Very dissatisfied and do not plan on using u haul again.Tiara S.

I have been a customer of this location since 2015. I am in a climate controlled unit which is rarely climate controlled; I do understand the meaning. It is miserable hot in my unit that several items have been ruined since they have been in there. Isn’t that the entire purpose of climate control? I’ve gone in there and the thermostat reads over 86. The manager from 2015 was rude and obnoxious and charged my card without permission and caused me NSF fees. I also get paid every few months and I attempted to explain that to her so we could work out a plan and she would not hear it. So I am constantly paying these outrageous fees. I always pay my storage which usually costs me between $550 and $750 estimated. All depends on how my check comes in and how much I have left over or can borrow. I’ve been a customer for 6 years and one would think you would make the conscious effort to work with a long standing customer but obviously not. So my situation is changing and in the next couple of months I will purchase a storage unit and move away from Uhaul since Uhaul obviously does not value me as a customer it prefers the $75 to $150 in late fees over the original $139.95 ($1,679.40 yearly) then you became greedy and I’m sure Uhaul is using Covid as the excuse for the $10 increase in rent and now you stand to collect $1,799.40 yearly plus the outrageous late fees when you know 100 percent you will receive all rent monies from me. Greediness is what kills business and unwillingness to work with your good customers is what causes loss of customers and spread of bad customer service. Uhaul once was a name everyone respected and was proud to use and now we all look for alternative sources; ask yourselves why. Go onto the location off the west bank expressway in Marrero, LA where I am located and read the unpleasant remarks. I have called and complained numerous times. My father was in business since I was 2 years of age until the day he passed away at 75, I was 51. People still stop me and say they wish he were still here and what a great man he was and I could go on. That’s when you know you have excellent customer satisfaction. I bet the Uhaul bean counters wouldn’t receive shelter during a catastrophe from any white or blue collar workers.ANN H. | First Impressions
