Most frustrating experience ever. I called to extend and was told I could but then marked as due 2 hours later and then when I tried to call and fix it they said it was fixed and they called 2 hours later saying it was due. This went on 5 times.Olivia M.

My agent, the manager was amazing. I have spent a fortune with U-Haul over the years and every single time, it's a massive issue. My truck was not available, then I had to add a trailer to fit things, which still didn't work. The tire had a massive hole which was fixed. Things went pretty much as expected, except that I thought the check-in took too long considering the fact that I "pre-checked-in" online for the express purpose of breezing through that process. Otherwise everyone was competent and friendly and helpful, and the vehicle, while not a Mazeratti, was adequate to my moving needs.William B.

This vehicle had multiple mechanical issues with it. It was obvious that this location didn't check anything mechanical. Just visual inspection. 1. The oil life was at 0%. I didn't realize this until I was about 10 miles down the road fully loaded and the light came on. So I drove about 350 miles with 0 oil. 2. ABS service light was on the entire time and dinging every 2 minutes for 400 miles and needs servicing. Very annoying to drive with a bell dinging for 6 hours. 3. Stability Traction control light was on the entire time and dinging every 2 minutes for 400 miles and needs servicing. Also, when I rented the vehicle I asked about the price and the amount of days and miles. I only needed the vehicle for the weekend and I asked if I returned it early or drove less than the allotted miles if I would get any money back. The lady (name??) at the dealer told me that if I bring it back early and with less miles than I was allowed, that I would get a portion of my money back. $40 for each day less and .40 cents for each mile less. I thought I would be getting $6.40 for the miles and $40 for the day. $46.40 total in refund. When I returned the vehicle, I was told that this was not the case and money is never refunded no matter how quick or how many less miles you drove. U-haul only charges if you go over the miles or days. My reservation number was 99060314. Maybe that will help you identify who reserved the vehicle at the dealer. I would like U-haul to honor to the $46.40 refund.JASON P.

I rented a trailer last minute. My wife was 9 months pregnant (literally due the following day) and we had to move out of our rent house. I was unsure of how long we would need the trailer since our next residence was not ready and we were staying at an Airbnb. I asked the man who checked me out if I could keep it longer if I needed to and he said yes (there was no option longer than 24 hours on the website when I booked it). However, the following day, I received a call telling me I was required to return the trailer within the next 2 hours. So, I rushed to get a storage unit and my wife had to help me unload the trailer ON HER DUE DATE! The person who called me was unaccommodating and simply referenced the contract. He was unphased by the situation, unsympathetic, and indifferent about what I was told the day prior!Aaron K.

I was in town visiting my husband at work, and my car broke down, so I rented the car hauler and was just going to have my husband tow me home. I was already having issues with our hotel, then my car, and now with uhaul. I was supposed to be able to check in online before I picked up my equipment. I tried three times, but couldn't get to the confirmation page (it kept bringing me back to the sign in page, despite having just typed in all of that information). My husband and I went inside to check in. The first thing out of Kevin's mouth was "you need to pull your truck into an actual parking spot". There was no greeting, nothing. My husband went to move our truck, and I explained that I was having issues checking in with the website. No sympathy, no acknowledgment whatsoever. I then had to give all of my information again (credit card, driver license, and vehicle information), despite already having entered all of that personal information into the initial reservation. We then needed to give two additional people's names and phone numbers for an undisclosed reason (maybe to track us down if we stole the equipment?????). We pulled around to get hooked up to the trailer, and photos were taken. I got texted a link that was confirming the equipment with pictures, but the pictures were not of the equipment we had rented (not our truck, not the same location of uhaul even!!). I "disputed" and took my own pictures. We get through 13 hours of a 14 hour drive, and the running lights on the trailer suddenly went out (it was after sunset by this time), so we pulled off to make sure the brake/turn signal lights still worked-- they did. There was faulty wiring inside of the trailer somewhere, because when I wiggled the connections at the truck, it didn't do anything, but when I wiggled the connection on the trailer, they flickered but went out after I let go. Also, $500 for a one-way car hauler rental is stupid expensive, and there's not even a prorated refund for returning the equipment early. TL;DR: Enter in all of my personal information to a website that "loses" it; have pictures taken of my vehicle and license plate for "confirmation" just to be viewing someone else's vehicle and license plate; and further ruin an already bad day with extremely rude customer service and faulty equipment. Save yourself the time, money, and personal information security-- go rent somewhere else.Margaret L.

I rented a 6x12 trailer. Tires were almost bald with no tread left. One of the left wheels locked up and the trailer was drug for approximately 100 yards before the wheel began operating normally again.Justin W.

The fuel tank in the van when I got in was empty (literally â€œ0â€ miles to empty),, I had to wait around for 1.5 hours while they cleaned it (inside and out) despite having a long day of moving ahead, and the van had an electrical short somewhere that would cause either the radio, windshield wipers, or lights not to work intermittently. Very disappointed and have shared my experience on social media cautioning others. I expected much better for $1,500.Nicholas D.

Make sure it is presentable for next customer. I was sickened at the filth, the windows were so dirty and I had to ask if they would clean them. The guy was nice enough to do it, but I shouldn't have had to ask. Then, inside had food and tobacco chew all over the floor and in cup holders and whomever had it last smoked. It reeked of smoke. I sprayed it, cleaned it out and I should not have had to. They just sent me on my way. The tire alignment was off also, but we made it safely to our destination. I love uhual, but this time the service was not up to par. The ac was great, and the ride ok, except for the alignment. It could have been the weight distribution, but we tried to make sure it was balanced correctly. Thank you. Oh i love that you can drop it and the key off.Taji S.

After waiting for a long time and Justin not coming, Ashanti walked up and asked if I had been taken care of. Have employees show up to work. I had a trailer reserved for 7:00, but store did not open until after 9:00. I ended up paying for insurance I didn't want because employee was unable or didn't know how to remove. My reservation indicated a $50 availability guarantee, I was there at 7:00, but unable to pick up trailer until almost 10:00 and received no credit.
