This is my 3rd time using this location @ 4705 W. 47th st. I was able to make the rental online and pick it up when needed just a few hours later. The clerks were very helpful, friendly & professional. Truck drove great and was in good condition. Overall experience was pleasant and hassle free. Will definitely use again when needed.

Horrible!!! The storage space was dirty! And they gave me a key (card) that didn’t work kept saying access denied. Then the worker gave me a code and Thst didn’t work either. She told me it’s ok

I had a great experience using this U-Haul location, I booked online, next day went to pick up and in about 5 minutes I was on my way. Very friendly and professional staff. I would definitely use this location again, drop off was also quick and easy.

The website couldn’t locate me on site. Tried multiple times to Self check in the return of the vehicle to avoid the extra $20 dollar charge but kept getting same alert. “We’re unable to determine your location.” So I was charged the extra $20.00

I did experience some trouble with the tow dolly I rented. Thr left tail light bracket suffered a failure and departed from the fender. This, while traveling on an interstate highway. The cause of the failure was due to all the aluminum rivets that secure the bracket to the fender breaking. From my personal experience of installing many thousands of these type rivets, I determined that the improper length rivet was used in the assembly process. I could tell that a 1/4-42 rivet was used, whereas a 1/4-44 would have been more appropiate,or at minimum 1/4-43s. Personally I would use stainless steel rivets, but understand the use of aluminum for ease of repair.

Auto transport I rented had loose lug nuts on all 4 wheels. When I returned the equipment I tried to tell the representative about the issue and she dissregard me and replied "um ok" then told the other person of this serious issue he said "sorry thats not our problem we cant touch it and uhaul wont look at it till something happens on the road" I took photos of the residue trails around the lug nuts on all 4 wheels a tell tail sign of loose lugs as a semi truck driver I spotted this right away. But someone with out this knowledge wouldn't know till a wheel came off while driving probably causing a wreck.

I had a bad experience this last time. Although I gave used this facility many times, I didnt like the fact that they failed to inform me of the new procedures for returning rented trucks. I was charged $20 and I was never told about the new procedure. I believe that the company should give the customer a heads up on any new changes to the policy.

The trailer got a flat tire and road side assistance took two hrs to show up . Temps were in the single digits with kids in the truck made for a very stressful time

I waited over 20 min to return the dolly I rented back. It was not due to any long lines of customers waiting to be serviced, it was due to employees not being present at the front desk. It appears they were cleaning their own storage units they had the facility which is not right since it was on company's time. One customer had to actually go in back to where the storage units were to get the customer service reps of that store.

La mujer que nos rento la camioneta fue muy amable y nos informo bien de cómo regresarlo es el motivo que doy 5 estrellas. Pero ala hora de regresar el camion llegue 10 min antes de las 7 y la tienda estaba cerrada avía dos empleadas adentro y no prestaban atención a que tocaba la puerta y después de todo me atendieron por el buzón y me dijeron que cerraban alas 6:50 Ali qué yo respondí que cual era la razón si en la puerta está el horario de las 7 me cerraron el buzón y fueron groseras me gustaría que un manager pusiera atención en eso e informará Alós clientes la hora exacta de cerrar gracias

This was an almost brand new vehicle, which was nice. The problem I had did not apply to this location. This was the third location that I went to before receiving a truck on a reservation that I made over a month in advance. In my opinion that is unacceptable. The vehicle was new but it did have a dent in it which was not noted on the picture gallery that I scrolled through. I would think that this gallery should be updated prior to vehicle being sent out again. I did have picture which helped at return end as the dent in truck was questioned.

Reserved truck online but received a call from U-Haul letting me know the reservation I had just placed was wrong and that the truck I already had a confirmation number for was not going to be available until later. I had to pick the truck up abut 5 hours later than I had initially planned.

My reservation was to pick up the vehicle in Naperville but I had to go 30 miles out of my way to get the truck. This is unacceptable and when I stated so the response I got was too bad that is where your truck is at. When I asked to be financially compensated for the extra time and gas money for not picking up the truck in my reserved location I was told this is not possible and I was only giving extra miles. The extra miles were of no use for me. Moving is stressful enough and to have to drive into Chicago next to Midway airport was not what I contracted with Uhaul for. Just poor customer service.

This was absolutely the worst experience renting equipment I have ever had! Let’s start from the beginning. We used the website to order the trailer MONTHS before we were going to pick it up. I called the Friday before picking the trailer up to confirm, which everything was. Went to pick the trailer up on Sunday and they some how had a open trailer reserved for me when I specifically had ordered and confirmed a 12x6 closed trailer. There were none available at the location on 118th and Cicero in Alsip Il.where I was at. They did “confirm” there was a closed trailer at 47th and Cicero north of Midway airport. Already behind schedule, I drove 30 minutes to that location. I got there and they said they didn’t have the trailer and no one from Alsip called them. At this point my frustration level was maxed out. I went outside and there was a 12x6 on the lot, which was clearly showing on the security camera screen. So this just shows that this location didn’t have a clue of what they had on their lot. I ended up getting that trailer. When I went to return the unit they told me to park the trailer and unhook it myself. They were not going to go out and check and see if there was damages or if it was returned cleaned. I refused and told them that someone needs to go out and unhook the trailer, inspect it and return it correctly. The girl working behind the counter had a very poor attitude and was very rude to me. I absolutely hope that I never have to rent from U-Haul again. This is the worst customer service and operation I have ever experienced.

This review is not so much for the U-Haul location, but more for the Uhaul experience I went through overall. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever gone through. I set up my appointment on a wednesday prior to my Sunday move. I had tried to set up a pick up at one Chicagoland location and drop it off at a different Chicagoland location, but they told me it would cost $130. I then spoke with another UHaul customer service member the next day (after being on hold for almost 30 minutes to connect with someone), who confirmed with me that I should be able to do just that for my same cost of $19.95, and I would receive a call 24 hours before with where to drop my truck off at. Come saturday, I never received a call so I wanted to call to confirm my reservation and drop off location. After being on hold for almost 30 minutes to connect with someone, only to get disconnected, having to call back and wait ANOTHER 30 minutes, I was told that my trip was not as the second agent told me, and I had to pick up and return from this location. I was okay with this, but then when I showed up Sunday morning, the staff told me I never had a reservation for a 10ft, and my reservation was switched to a 9ft. Then they said there were no vehicles available for me anyways, and I had to drive 30 minutes away to pick up a truck. I was obviously not doing that because that would cost me at least another $30 in mileage. Almost 2 hours later, they had to basically cancel someone else's reservation to get me into a truck, as I had been waiting there, obviously very frustrated. In summary, worst customer service experience ever, takes way too long to get in touch with someone, and they tell you contradicting things...

Im never using uhaul again, waaaaaay too many discrepancies from paying extra for overnight, only to have it not work when i needed it, and side door not available when i need it...0%customer service
