The paperless technology is not easy for customers to figure out themselves. The process was not explained, I receive a text message link then I have to figure it out myself how to review and accept the vehicle and policy while submitting photos of any differences. My girlfriend or parents would not have been able to do this process. The Parking lot is so narrow with parked uhaul vehicles that my girlfriend would not even drive the truck we rented for her to exit.

Service people were fine, but I was very disappointed to find that a hand truck was not in the vehicle per my request. It made my move 10x harder, and I ended up having to buy a hand truck nearby. Next time I will be sure to verify.

I got a one-way truck from Pasadena to Mira Mesa (San Diego). I'm not sure which location is at fault - the pick-up location, the drop-off location, or the uHaul system. When I got the uHaul truck at the pick up location, I chose a designated drop-off location in Mira Mesa which was also reflected on the contract when I drove off of the lot. I had my truck for 2 days and I called the drop-off location before returning it to give them a heads up and the very friendly clerk informed me that their lot was full and that my drop-off location was actually in Poway. I vented my frustration at the situation as that was not stipulated in the contract so he spoke to his manager and the manager said to just drop it off at their location. As I was driving to the location, that's when the uHaul system actually sent me a notification text message informing me that my drop-off location had been changed to Poway which is WAY too late of a notification as I was supposed to be dropping it off 20 minutes later. It was a complete failure of the uHaul notification system. When I arrived at the drop-off location I showed the manager my contract and it showed that his location was reflected on the contract as my drop-off point. He looked a bit confused but all he did was call their traffic hotline and they fixed it within minutes. I believe his name was Wayne. He was great. He was great in fixing it but a very terrible uHaul notification system.

Upon attempting to locate the collection box for the after hours key drop, correct information needs to be provided to the after hours answering service staff. It took more than 10 minutes to locate the drop box. The customer service agent indicated the drop box was at the front entrance; it was not. Upon eventually finding the location of the drop box, the area was not illuminated very well.

I was charged $20 for ??? I do not even know why. Was not told when I rented truck. Just extra $20 added. Would like an explanation of what it is and why I don’t know about it.

Disorganized, my drop-off was the address I went to, it was clearly marked on my contract, there was confusion on their end and I had to point out the address on my contract. Then I was erroneously charged for fuel when I clearly returned the truck with the correct amount of fuel as stated in the contract. Only after reviewing the receipt and speaking with management was the charge reversed, if in fact it was. I'll check tomorrow.

It's the only location i go bc you guys have everything I need, specifically the size trailers even though I have others closer. I also enjoyed the conversation with Crystal over the phone. She's a great individual with an awesome disposition. Everyone there is always nice. Have yet to meet an angry, frustrated, individual.

The $19.95 advertised cost is a sham. I ended up having to pay $99 to rent for half a day, and this included a $25 "cleaning" charge!!!! What's up with that! I will never do this again

This is my 3rd rental at this location this year. The staff is efficient and friendly. My only complaint is that I opted for "online/app checkout" but it didn't save me any time. I still had to go into the office and show ID and credit card and decline the options that I already declined in the app and sign a bunch of stuff, etc. What's the point in having an app and online checkout when doing that stuff doesn't actually save me any time and I have to repeat the process in the store????

Your computer system for available rentals according to the manager is a joke I went to the U-Haul in El Cajon reserved a trailer from the Miramar you are called before I left El Cajon To confirm my reservation for the trailer the girl on the phone said yes when I got there she tells me oh sorry she made a mistake and that she didn’t have a trailer for me had to ask for the manager Who came over to straighten it out and told me that the computer reservation system U-Haul has in place is a joke but in the end the manager hook me up with a trailer so I can tow my car home

We used the Uhaul for about 3.5 hours. Even filled up the tank to where the guy highlighted on the information form and they still charged me for gas! Never again. They advertise 20$ Uhaul but nickel and dime you for everything!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They demanded that I add an extra hour “or his guys wouldn’t get up from their beds for the job.” So I added an extra hour assuming they knew what they were talking about. They were supposed to help us from 10-2, but finished the job at 12:45 and demanded that we tell them how much we were going to tip them (via Venmo) to which I said I’ll figure that out in a second (as I had never been blatantly asked what I was going to tip and didn’t know what to say). They again accosted me about their tip and demanded that we send it right that second because they had to be at another job at 1. It is completely dishonest to charge a customer for an extra hour that you know you aren’t going to be there for. I quickly sent them a tip because I was so startled at their behavior. And they ran out the door without finishing the last hour of work that I had previously paid for. When I contacted them to ask for a refund for the fourth hour that they demanded I add on, they sent me a rude message and completely wrote me off. Watch out for this company as they will charge you for hours that they know you don’t need and aren’t even planning on working. They will constantly make passive aggressive comments about how you need to give them a good tip and then accost you for a tip before leaving early from your job.

Trying to work through U-Haul to drop my trailer off after use was horrible. They kept directing me back to online to set up drop off. Online wasn’t working and I had to call neck numerous times. Finally someone internal called the location and set it up. I’m this was a major disappointment and time consuming. Also, my nearest two locations would not accept the trailer. This made me have to travel almost an hour round trip.

Had to ask three times at the front door to guided me to the returning area to drop off my rental and the person in charge of that spot had no customer skills. He charged me more for fuel with no explanation, I even compared my previous paper agreement so similar and no difference at all for the returning fuel to his eyes and still blamed his system for the extra charge. I end up paying the extra charge fuel, but the problem definitely was the lack of explanation coming from their tech.

I recommend having the front automatic doors to be open during normal working hours. It was really annoying swiping the card everytime the door closes and you are moving things from your storage.
