The main reason I took my stuff out of storage is I just couldn't afford it at this time. I already had to condense my stuff - take some out and put in my daughters garage - and move the rest to a smaller unit because of money. I only get one check a month and I have to pay bills etc and live on that money all month so fore and other people like me it is just hard to fit something extra into our alreafy stretched budget. But everything was great the staff were nice and very helpful the storage units were clean and well maintained etc. If I happen to need storage again I probably would come back to U-Haul unless I would find a place as good for less money. The only thing I didn't like as far as overall experience was I was given a price I thought was decent when I first moved in and a month later the rate went up and I wasn't too happy about that. Later on they ran a promotion that you could lock your rate in for a year but they had already raised my rate. I do think it might be just a bit expensive not quite as competitive with other prices of storage places.

RENTED A 20' BOX VAN TO MOVE BELONGINGS OUT OF MY DAUGHTERS FLOODED HOUSE IN INDIANAPOLIS. VAN DROVE FINE ON THE WAY THERE, BUT THE ENGINE BLEW UP AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO MUNCIE. IT TOOK SEVERAL HOURS TO GET A TOW TRUCK TO INDIANAPOLIS AND THEN BRING VAN TO MY SHOP IN MUNCIE. I HAD HIRED 3 MEN TO HELP MOVE, HAD TO PAY THEM FOR THE DOWN TIME. CALLED THE MUNCIE STORE AND WAS TOLD THE MANAGER WAS BUSY AND WOULD CALL ME BACK. THAT WAS 9 DAYS AGO , NO RESPONCE.

Great customer service. Great with helping with rental. On return I didnt really know what to do after standing inside for 10 mins I was told I was good to go. Why did the guy outside unloading my trailer ever tell me to go inside to just stand and many people working just talking and letting me stand, but morning crew was fantastic.

The process from start to finish was easy and convenient. I called and made a trailer reservation for the next day that I would be needing for 2 days. When I arrived at my scheduled pickup time the trailer was ready and waiting on me. The staff was courteous and fast. I was checked in and hooked up and out the door within 15 minutes. I received the same level of customer service when I dropped the trailer off. They unhooked me and checked in my equipment within 15 minutes. This is an excellent UHaul location with a large inventory. I wouldn’t recommend any changes and would highly recommend this location.

Our rental truck functioned perfectly fine, but the service we received was not very good, for these reasons: - We were not offered any significant instruction on the use of the truck. - The truck was parked quite a ways from the checkout counter and we were told to walk over to that area and find the truck with the correct serial number. The trucks were parked uncomfortably close together, so we had to be careful about opening the doors and very careful about backing it out of its parking space even though we're not used to driving vehicles of this size. Having the correct truck brought to us near the checkout counter and offered a bit of instruction would have been much better service. - At the checkout counter we were told that the trucks gas tank was completely full. Upon starting the truck we discovered that the gas tank was mostly full, but not completely full. This made us worry about whether other details about the truck were being tracked correctly and whether the truck would have a correct inspection once we returned it. - The inside of the cab had not been cleaned. We had to clean gunk off of the seats ourselves in order to not end up with stains on our clothes. Fortunately the truck performed perfectly fine.

I reserved a 15’ truck in the morning, late afternoon I received a call there wasn’t one that size available even though the person who scheduled it said there was. I was offered a 26’ truck which I accepted. On arrival at the store I was informed my truck wasn’t available, it had not been returned. As a customer I should have been contacted & informed prior to my arrival. I was offered & accepted a 20’ truck. For me, this wasn’t really good customer service.

Muncie is OK, Just stay away from Virginia, they will take your money. Restaurant tax 12% Housing is terrible. If your ever there, check out the rents, no wonder there is multiple families living together, the only choice they have is get out of Virginia. I hate the place.

I told the attendant the problems we had and he said they would get the chain fixed. My brother in law drove the truck and when he stopped for gas, he noticed one tire strapping was off and the other loose. We could have lost the car and killed people. Overall I’m not happy with Uhaul.

I'll start with the best - the 2 guys working on the Sunday morning we rented the truck were fantastic!! So helpful, so patient, such good sense-of-humor! They made our experience thorough & fun - and got us going on our way quickly. The store was incredibly clean! When first entering the store, it's difficult to see the service counter on the other side of the store because of all the displayed boxes. However, the blue foot print stickers on the floor lead us around the corner of the boxes, where we could easily see where we needed to go. The truck was incredibly clean!!!

The two gentleman working at the McGalliard location on 7/26/2026 at 11:30am were incredibly unprofessional. Both had earbuds in while working with customers, and did not treat our concerns about our rental truck's check engine light being on seriously. When we eventually figured out what the issue was, instead of explaining it to us they were condescending towards us. Due to their lack of knowledge about the rental agreement and lack of willingness to cooperate with us, we ended up adding an hour onto our already long day of moving.

Out experience was horrible. The logistics were not explained and left us in a very stressful mess. Numerous calls, on hold for long periods, transferred to other people who didn't know what was going on either. We had lots of pads. I have nice antique wood furniture. My furniture wasn't wrapped. The pads were loaded in the UBoxes with my furniture in their packaging never opened. Several things damaged. Haven't completed unloading our storage containers but will take more pictures as I find damage. This was a long distance move. Wouldn't recommend UHaul UBoxes for this type of move. Some people tried to help. The unloading team was very nice & helpful.

The worker at the desk who was waiting on me at 9am pick up, looked at his phone during the entire transaction, he acted like he wanted to be anywhere but at work, when I dropped it off at 4 he was still on his phone! I interrupted his net surfing to ask a question and he just snapped at me with a comment that I couldn't understand, then he stormed out the side door while I stood there, I followed him out to the truck and he was looking at his phone the whole time he was inspecting the truck, he never said another word to me ,I wasn't sure of the procedure so I just left , there wasn't any info forthcoming from this guy,

I have returned equipment here twice in the past. There were no problems at all then. Today, the customer service was horrific. Mike, who was dressed in all black, head-to-toe, including an inverted sock cap, was smoking the whole time he was assisting me. There were no UHaul logos on his attire, but the sock cap had a spate of orange which may have been a UHaul logo, but, as it was inverted, it was illegible. Mike attempted to unhook the trailer from my hitch with brute force. He simply needed to rotate the hook to release it from the hitch, but he kept pulling in all futility. I told him to remove the cotter pin, which he did, thankfully, otherwise, he would have damaged my hitch. JJ, another employee, was also inept but in other ways. It was the worst UHaul experience I have ever had and could not be a starker contrast from the wonderful experience at the Dixon Street/Kokomo store.

Absolutely uncalled for to rent out a truck with no muffler. Check engine light on, no exhaust, absolute thrashed. Had to wear earmuffs to quiet down to absolute obnoxious noisy exhaust. Embarrassing to drive. People looked at me, wondering what was going on with this truck. I failed the location. The locationI picked it up at lied to me. They told me they had no idea that it was in that condition. How would they not know that is truck is in terrible condition and technically not street legal. U-Haul is supposed to provide me a good running street legal vehicle to rent.. Not street legal meaning it has excessive noise which is a ticket and the emissions are not on the truck therefore not street legal. With my terrible experience and spending my hard earned money to U-Haul and not another competitor of yours, I want a complete refund for my inconvenience and others. I feel I was lied to and handed something that they did not care about renting to me They lied to me that they knew that truck was not rentable or they do not check the equipment before being rented out. Poor customer service service. . So which one was it, was I lied to and they know it was not in good shape or do they not inspect the vehicles for proper operation of a rental unit before handing it to a customer of U-Haul Mike

You need to do something with your app. It’s absolutely horrible. The people helping us agreed as they had tried to use it and couldn’t either. One of the employees even commented that it was difficult. The original place we were supposed to pick up the truck at Liberty street ended up being a mess which is why it was switched to the McGalliard location. The store associates were very helpful. Originally we were going to get a 10 foot truck from the Liberty street location well that was a bit crazy as their location had suffered a collapsed roof and the business was pretty much nonexistent. After a week of trying to call that location leaving three voicemails with no return calls I decided to call the McGalliard location. They did not have a 10 foot truck so they offered us a 15 foot truck at the same price. However, when we got there they did not have a 15 foot truck they only had a 10 foot truck. So over all the experience was a bit unorganized. Over the last 40-50 years we have used UHaul to move across the country multiple times and overall we had good experiences which is why I said I would recommend UHaul. So I guess you guys need to get it together a bit more here in Muncie, Indiana. Make sure the other locations where you can actually pick up trucks have them and please for the love of God get rid of the app or make a better one.

I loved having my storage at U-Haul . Unfortunately I had some serious family issues with sickness and death. I was late on my payments a couple times. The late fees made it worse, because of the tremendous cost the late fees added I was forced to remove my things and sign a settlement agreement remove my stuff in 72 hours, while dealing with funeral arrangements and family. I appreciate my life not being sold to the highest bidder, I’m sad I had no choice in the situation.

Easter Sunday it took me 1.5 hours to get the truck rented due to your web site then it showed up twice in my bank which locked my card for the weekend. The second truck rental was a huge problem. We arrived at muncie at 1030pm to find none of the doors would open even thow we had 24 hr access. No response from manager which she explained to me the following day. She compensated me with a free day of truck rental which I am wondering if I can use that in a few weeks? I was left to unload the truck alone since everyone else was working that wanted to help me the night before. I got the truck turned in on time. Facility is very nice and so are all the staff.

I was given the wrong storage unit as it was already taken. I was exhausted, and I had to walk in the front of the place to let them know so I could get another storage. Then, when I got another load of my stuff out and came to the second storage unit, it wasn't cleaned. So I had to walk back to the front and was given a broom and dust pan and walked back with a broken toe that happened weeks ago. I was not happy. Also, I asked if I could get compensated for the 1st payment due towardsthe endof August. I was told they talk to the manager and nothing was said to me since.

I use my code to enter but saw numerous people walk in the automated outdoors and then have full access to the whole facility. I tried it once too. I just walked up to the the automated out doors and entered. Then opened my unit, heard the alarm but nothing else happened. No follow through and flawed security. I witnessed guys with junk trucks just use the same method and snoop around. Not to mention one of the indoor loading bays is always occupied by a trailer somebody is doing maintenance on. Didn’t know we could park our vehicles there and do maintenance for weeks.

I believe the gentlemen who waited on me was Devin. He went above & beyond in every way. After a solid week of moving, 4 days in extreme 100° heat, I was mentally & physically exhausted, severely stressed, and he did everything he could to accommodate us and make it easier to get to my climate-controlled storage (he gave me the closest unit possible) and he arranged for me to return my truck here instead of a location 40 minutes away. U-Haul is who you want to go with whether moving locally or one-way. Most other companies charge you a $500+ drop fee for not returning your truck or trailer to same location. U-Haul does not. For a 26' truck, 18 moving pads, and an appliance hand truck (dolly), I paid $342.80. I will ALWAYS use U-Haul for all of my DIY moves. Thanks U-Haul and thanks to Devin, Geneva, Shelby, and the others who assisted my family.

We had some water damage in one of the units. it looks like an air conditioner vent or piping was dripping water and saturated some of the boxes and became moldy. I let the office know of the issue. The ceiling tiles above the unit had collapsed and come down right above my daughters unit and were yellowed and water stained. Thought you should know. other than this issue all else was fine and the Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Truck was in terrible shape. The employee we work with didn't show us the location of the truck. She didn't seem to know her job at all. We went in at 8am to rent the truck. She was struggling so much I had to come back at 10am They wasn't helpful to work the doors or to explain them. They moved me out before my things was even moved out. So I had to set off the alarm.

I would have put excellent except when I was getting my things out of the unit, I had came in through one of the garage doors and an employee came and complained about the door being open. He said something about a different individual hitting it and that it was out of order and the other garage door wouldn’t open for me to be able to get my stuff out easily.

Was fine with most of it until there were cockroaches on the carts and a bedframe covered in bed bugs and you guys say it's pest free I really pray I don't get any bugs from your storage I told the staff and they acted like no biggie and let the bedframe and stuff stay covered in bugs it's disgusting and paying that kind of money y'all should be way more clean and make sure your customers don't leave with bugs bc you don't really offer much protection for that it's like false advertising when you say pest free and there are pest I took pictures and everything bc I was so thrown off and grossed out by it

The facility itself is very nice. Garage pull-in for unloading is awesome. Carta are in good shape and always seem to be available for moving your stuff. The floor plan could be better makes on each aisle, but there are huge maps around to help you figure out where you are going. I would have preferred 24 hour access, but that is an additional fee. When I rented the unit, the young man getting it all set up did not communicate well that they do not have actual 10x20 units. So, I did not ever got the memo that they gave me two units. When I went to clear it all up, my message did not make it to the manager to get handled the first day and the second day that I called the person that answered the phone was rather rude. I have almost always had great interactions with the staff at this facility. However, after yesterday morning, I won’t go back.

The storage unit was fine and sufficient for my needs however my issue is with the billing system. Charging a $15 late fee one day after the due date and then a second $15 late fee 12 or 13 days later along with being sent a threatening email that there would be a $50 lien placed on the unit and the items sold to cover cost in my opinion is a bit harsh and for that reason I removed my items and closed out my unit and went to a different facility and will NOT recommend uhaul to anyone ever

You're automatic phone answering system just plain stinks. I phoned a few times to your hub which is selected by my internet connection, and each time I received a recording then my waiting time was 1 hour. If you had a computer programmer ("System Analyst") not an IT person designing this for you, you would have many many more customers. Where I work for 42 years, we did everything possible to answer the phones. If you don't answer the phone you're insulting the potential and present customers. I hope somebody tells the owners about this system.

The only downside was that I was told there was gas in the vehicle (like there usually is) and it needs to be brought back with the same amount. I have driven uhal several times and know the gas gage tends to be a bit wonky. So I drove about a block and a half and the gas guard was buried on E… so they got it returned with alot more fuel then I left the lot with. We also used the self storage facility. Was east and super clean. Although an alarm (really high pitched) goes off literally every time you walk through..

I do think the floor is in the storage rooms should be better because they make it think that it's going to be better than it is I think the storage walls and the flooring because in that showroom area it looks really good versus when you get back there and you've rented one and you see what it looks like but the people there are very friendly and it's been very easy to to rent a truck I've had to change over three times though while I've had a vehicle

My experience with U-Haul Storage in Muncie, IN has been consistently excellent. I have had a storage space for 4-5 years and U-Haul has provided a clean, dry, well-lit environment. Above all the personnel was super throughout my time there. The employees were always polite, courteous, professional, helpful, and cheerful. I could not have asked for better service -- very impressive.

Our living room furniture was ruined after two weeks of being there due to a rodent problem! At least one dead mouse was decaying on top of the pieces. I had to purchase emergency Amazon furniture just to have places to sit for my daughter’s birthday party this coming weekend. Never again.

I was very disappointed when we didn’t get the unit I had reserved 2 mths prior to needing it. I had reserved the largest unit and requested outdoor access to the unit. We got a smaller one instead and was in the center instead of outdoor access.
