The lot is VERY congested. To many trucks and storage units giving the amount of land available and the parking lot has to many blind spots plus a bulk propane fill station. Customer parking very limited also due to U haul trucks in return line waiting for post trip inspection making it challenging to back out to leave. Store seems to be understaffed but the 2 employees I dealt were very polite and knowledgeable.
William GUhaul computer system was slow and having issues. Took us almost 3 hours to pick up our uhaul. Got there at 11:15 am and was 5th in line. We didn’t leave with our truck until close to 3 pm. Even the app wasn’t working to “pick-up” the truck so we could just show the key number, grab out keys and go. It was an absolute nightmare. Owner and staff were truly apologetic and doing everything they could but they were at the mercy of the computer system.
Vicki PTrailer leaked. So we loaded all our items on Friday night, a storm came through and Saturday morning when we unloaded our mattress and futon were soaked.

Antwon MJessie is very good, worked with him before. I complain that I bought a half dozen blankets that I never took out of the bag but was not allowed to return them for reimbursement. I’m mad about that actually.

Damian GDo not laugh at customers. Been nice pull truck out ready to go to All customers not ones they choose. When a caller calls, rather than kept on hold ask another person to take call. Not hold up walked in customers waiting for help.
Dwane KIt took an hour and 45 minutes just to check in and get my trailer. The people at the store were very apologetic, no issues with them, but the system they were forced to use was TERRIBLY slow. The system should be way better and if there's some sort of issue (like there was that day) there should be some back-up procedures to move customers along faster instead of making them wait in a huge line forever. Also, the trailer running lights didn't work - not a huge issue since we weren't driving in dark but should be fixed. The trailer was clean though.
Kristoffer KWe initially had a problem with our first rental location as the trailer was not ready at the time of pickup. I understand that we are entitled to a $50 guaranttee if the rental is not ready and I would like to ask that we get reimbursed $50 for that as we had to make a second roundtrip to the new location which added two hours of additional driving and gas on our end. The second location was fantastic. There were long lines to pick up the trailer due to some technology glitches but the staff kept us well informed and everything went smoothly. I thought the North Lansing location was very professional, the trailer was in perfect condition, and the staff made sure everything was hitched up correctly with all of the light checks and the staff who helped us check it back in on return was fantastic too. I would definitely recommend this UHaul location to friends and family.

Ariel OI was surprised this location was open on Memorial Day. It was busy but Dylan was very helpful and efficient with check in of the vehicle.
BARRY JI arrived in time to use the online system to check myself out, but it wouldn't work. When I arrived, the gentleman in the office said he had forgotten to schedule someone to work, so he was scrambling alone. The line was about 6 people long by the time I finally got checked out. It took considerably longer because he was answering phones, prepping vehicles, and trying to process my payment all at the same time. The truck itself had clear evidence of a drink having been spilled in the cab. When I attempted to take photos through the app, it only displayed a black screen. It was kind of haphazard, but the truck's back was clean and it drove well. All in all, it was not the greatest experience, but I don't know what more I could expect from this business at this location.

Elton JCouple people in the office. Sign said to wait by truck, but no one came. Three customers returned at the same time and all had to go into the office to be told we will let you know if anything wrong.
David PThe staff was very nice. However, we were charged the $150 deductible for scraping the inside of the moving van. I was never sent the pictures so don't know the extent of the damage but can't imagine it was much. A scrape on the inside of a moving truck should be expected wear & tear. Also, trucks should be filled with gas so it's easier to determine how much to fill the tank. We overfilled both trucks substantially because it was after hours and couldn't call (it was difficult to guess how much gas to put in) and didn't get any type of refund or discount.

Sherry BVehicle had tire pressure light on. I checked the tires three times to make sure I was driving a safe vehicle. The person at the location said he checked the tires before i left and said it will be just fine. The vehicle need an oil change as well. People were Great!!!
TAD TId like to start with the employees were wonderful and so helpful. The store is clean and well organized and my experience had nothing to do with the people running the location. This location is very small and tough to get in and out of in a personal vehicle. We picked up our truck before opening and the requested equipment was not in our truck. Additionally the trucks were parked so close together I couldn't take the required photos or check the inside for the equipment, and once you move the truck youre basically exiting the lot. I was charged for use equipment we didnt receive and was very thankful thr employee was willing to double check their inventory to confirm I didnt receive those items so I wasnt charged for not returning items we didnt receive.

Reagan AI returned my truck on a Tuesday which was two days early than my scheduled drop of Thursday. When I got the invoice from U-Haul, it said that I returned it on Friday!! I got charged an extra $58 for being late. I talked to the "complaint line" and got the extra charge removed. What kind of place are you running where you lie about when a truck is returned? Very unprofessional.

MARY KCalls were not answered timely. Held for over 10 mins, called back and held another 5 mins. When I made the reservation I also held for a long time and the person I spoke to did not explain things to me correctly. Also the name wasn’t updated from an old rental. I was overcharged 50.00 and had to call and request a refund.

LUIS MI was over charged for this rental! I rent very often and after u haul failed a reservation then sent me over there and it cost more and farther so I had to pay more mile too . Normally when I pick up it’s close to $30 and if I go over on miles or gas or whatever that will be in the end of what’s deducted from my account. Pick up at this location was almost $60 I never heard of it .

BLAKE PI asked for a ball hitch to be included as part of the rental. I was told it was included. When i arriveed I was told that location did not rent ball hitches and I had to purchase one.

ALICIA HI appreciate that assistance was given to ensure the proper hook up of the trailer to my vehicle, including the proper functioning of the tail lights. I also appreciated that I was given assistance to ensure that the trailer ball was tightened properly on the trailer hitch ball mount.
DAVID BEmpty snow out of the trailer before someone takes it. Hire more people. I had an hour and 15 minute wait for other customers with one poor guy working alone working on two customers at once on two computers. I also was pre registered which didn’t seem to matter. I still had to wait.

TODD DThe person at the desk on Friday morning (I didn't catch her name) did a great job handling the very difficult weather, and problems with another customer's contract. She apologized a lot, even though the minor delay wasn't her fault at all.

David R | Overall ExperienceThe storage Facility was fine but there has been so much confusion on the fact we did not receive the free month promotion after renting a one-way truck. They keep saying they will refund a month of the storage unit and it never happens. We have asked about it on 3 separate occasions. We are trying once again to get refunded for one of the months we were charged. There is also never enough assistance in the office, it is usually one person and you have to wait a while to receive help. The staff is helpful but it takes awhile to receive assistance.

David R | First ImpressionsMy storage unit was broken into $3,000 of wheels and tires got stolen out of it and no one wanted to do anything about it no one wanted to answer questions then I stopped my storage unit and that was November of 23 and all of a sudden I understand that I have the storage unit until 7:00 or 24 one person told me to come and get my belongings next person I could not get a hold of anybody called corporate kept on calling the U-Haul on North Street no return phone calls..... and I was getting the runaround and I called corporate and corporate would call U-Haul on North Street and said that they return my call No Such return. If you go back on the records you can see that I use U-Haul for several things I rent numerous times car dollies car trailers trailers and Storage and I am not happy at all and I would like someone to contact me. The driveway in front of my unit flooded regularly and made it hard to access the unit due to very muddy conditions, including move out day.

LINDA J | Overall ExperienceI’ve been in a long time U-Haul buyer I am using renting trucks from you guys I drove a truck from Florida and piggyback from Tampa to Clearwater Michigan had a little difficulty what’s the tires it was a brand new truck they took me from Tampa to Georgia two days cause the tires One tire had a bad bleed and your balance is off balance .I call made A guy come out and change it he said your front end is off alignment I it from Middle of Georgia to Clearwater Michigan and one day and I had to go to Dewitt Michigan because your U-Haul place was on 27th in Lansing. You guys said you were going to reimburse me when I did that and August but I never got reimbursed for the trouble on sorrow but Use U-Haul.I asked the store person if I could deliver trucks to state to state she told me to go to grand Rapids I would love to do that I love driving my number is 239-293-5870
DUANE G | Overall ExperienceI tented a storage unit and truck bcuz I had 24 hours to get my belongings from my current residence. I paid for the storage specifically ask the gentleman before I left if the storage would be unlocked before I got back because U-Haul lock was on it and he said yes he would take care of that. This was 2 hours before they close I come back with a whole entire load out of my house and the lock was still on it oh, they were already closed oh, so I couldn't drop my belongings off to go back and get the rest of my things. The next morning I waited over 3 hours just to find out that this door is rented was already rented and it took me another two hours to find a new storage. Why I got a new storage I do not know because I lost all my belongings because I didn't get them out of my current residence in enough time. So out of my entire house all I got was the things from the shed. And I also only got a refund for the storage unit. Considering I had to pay for the moving truck but yet didn't get to use it because I had nowhere to put my things. He don't have to worry about that now cuz they're all gone, thanks again U-Haul

We paid for 24 hour access, never did we pay late and the general manager would put the extra lock on our unit so we couldn't get into when we wanted. We would ask the young man that was working and he had no idea why the extra lock. Also when we took our storage elsewhere there was mold all over all my stuff and the floor was wet. Destroyed alot of my antique furniture Destroyed. I will never recommend this place for storage units.
