No problem with facilities but if entering through garage loading area from outside it's madness to swipe twice especially when you already dragging stuff with you. 😵💫

DAVID S | Overall ExperienceI rented a 10x10 unit sight unseen. It was way at opposite end of only entrance to bldg. It also had a very small door opening, about the width of a regular door in a house, so it was not easy to get big items in to it. Fortunately, most of my items were not huge. Also the carts are quite small, and most of the halls inside are pretty narrow. it took me several trips in & out of the bldg going from one end to the other. Consequently, It took much, much more time to load my unit. I have used 3 other different storage facilities in the past, (not UHaul ones) and this one has been the most difficult to access! With everything from accessing and entering the bldg to trying to get around in the bldg to accessing my unit. I think if you're going to offer 10x10 units, the doors should be much wider, or at least let customers know in advance of the small doors. The staff however were friendly and helpful! There are just better places with much easier access and better set ups for storage, in my opinion.

Rented a storage unit in the back of the building. Storage unit was clean. But storage facility is very cluttered and often found it hard to drive around because there’s so many uhaul vehicles / trailers staged everywhere. Semi’s were sometimes blocking main gate so we were unable to access our unit at all. Back area main gate hours are poorly communicated. They are 9-4 while the main office building hours are 7-7. Online information does not communicate the gates hours storage facility are different. Arrived and found a locked gate with no one to assist.

I was told I would have access from 7:Am to 7 Pm.. as described in my reservation and from the website.. However, through 5 attempts in different days, I was unable to get a live person to answer the phone at the store.. Upon arrival and check in, I was informed the access to outdoor storage ends at 4 Pm.. I expressed concern with the timeline to unload the 26’ U-Haul truck in the time period.. The store rep told me she will check on us at 4 Pm ish.. what actually happened was no one checked on us and we were locked in the facility.. It took over an hour to get someone from the store to let us out ( again no answer at the store, the 1 800 Rep had to call the Manager’s cell phone… Staff was unapologetic and unprofessional regarding the situation.. The common theme I’ve gathered among all U-Haul staff and phone reps is Miscommunication and inability to provide accurate information, with an unhealthy dose of not caring to help the customer!

The office is off site and that is not convenient. Several times the doors would get locked early. Everytime I tried to use the drive in area it was padlocked. The unit itself was good and most staff were helpful but not a good setup and not helpful when the big door was locked during stated open hours. I have used better storage facilities. The best have a large drive in area that can fit a moving truck or truck and trailer.

They unit is located really far from the only sliding door to unload and load your stuff. So I'm pretty upset about that when the unit I had previously reserved was close to the door. And there is a homeless camp next to the parking lot which made us feel completely unsafe and we had to keep locking the truck every time we had to take a load. There is only 1 cart and 1 mattress cart available for use which is really inconvenient.

We didn’t know until 3 days before where we were going to pick up our truck. We were never told we needed to call ahead to reserve our storage unit. When I called to find out where it was the person online double booked us so when we showed up for the storage unit we did not have one. The Uhaul store tried to accommodate us but said they only had a 5x10 unit. I asked 3 times will that fit a 26’ truck. The response was “ Maybe I don’t know what your stuff looks like but the examples are over there. So I open the door to the 10x5 and see a large room so we think the stuff will fit. We sign for the room and drive to the unit and it’s half the size. I call Uhaul and say the unit is not the one they showed us. She explained how the example room worked it was only from the door back ( it would have been nice to know that ahead of time). I told the girl on the phone we have a 26’ truck this is too small. She said yeah that is too small for that size truck 🤦🏼♀️ After going back and forth with Uhaul for 3 hours we went somewhere else for our storage. Then when we turned the truck in we filled the gas tank to where it was when we picked it up 3/4 full and they still charged us for gas 😡. Would definitely not recommend Uhaul.
Melissa M | First ImpressionsA thousand percent NO. I rarely write negative reviews, seeking to focus on the positive, but this one definitely needs it -- customers should avoid. First, the good: the employees (other than the surly manager) are nice. Plenty of carts. No evidence of infestation, and each unit has a rat trap box. Halls/units are not filthy but not clean, either. I added one star for these. The bad: the area is sketchy, to put it mildly. The area isn't enclosed by a fence, so it's open season on your stuff, and you shouldn't leave anything unlocked or alone for even a moment. We were approached several times by unsavory characters who seem to circle the place, one even asking if our bike was available to take. The facility is in two locations, so you have to go several blocks away for the office when your card key is disabled (and in the two times we were there, our two cards were disabled three times) because no one answered the call button to help. They rarely answer the phone, and the web lists two different numbers that both roll over to U-Haul's main line after five rings, so good luck with that. It's just far away enough, and the neighborhood sketchy enough, that you will have to close up your truck, secure your belongings again, and drive to the office location if you need to talk to anyone in person, and you will. You'll see on online reviews that they have a strict policy not to let anyone else in the units. Makes good sense, but what I didn't expect was that people try to linger and get into the units all day long, so it's like arming up for battle. Sometimes it's just sketchy customers (seems like there are quite a few people basically living out of these units), sometimes it's vagrants. Hard to tell. To add to the experience, a random alarm on the building goes off every so often. If you have any garbage from your move, don't bother looking for a trash can. They removed all the trash receptacles after an unnamed "incident" a while ago. This means people are liable to leave stuff behind and encourages litter that the staff then have to remove. Our storage unit had an almost inoperable door. Neither my very strong partner nor I couldn't open the twisted up latch alone, but if we stepped on the bottom of the door in two places at once, we could open it. The access hours suck too. On moving in day, we were automatically locked out of the building with only a bike and acouple boxes when the office closed at 5 on Sun. This meant one of us needed to rush down to the office to find someone to let us in, and one of us had to guard the bike (see above). The ugly: even with all these problems, we figured it was free for a month with our truck rental, and we were kind of desperate. We were planning to move to a better place at the end of the month after we got the rest of our stuff from out of state, but I realized that when we rented the second U-Haul truck, it also came with a free month of storage, so I called (trying several days before getting through) to see if we could keep the same unit. The manager refused to allow this, saying we needed to move into another unit, but said there was one of the same size nearby. A complete PITA, but I figure this was U-Haul policy, not the manager's policy. (If it is not, then she should be disciplined for making things difficult for people.) When we arrived with all the rest of our stuff, it turned out there was NOT a unit nearby, only one in the building several blocks away. Because of the unsafe location, that would mean we would have to unload our truck full of out of state belongings into the new unit in the different building, completely load the truck with the belongings in the old unit, remove all of the out of state belongings we had just loaded into the new unit because we would need to access those first, load the old unit's belongings, then load the out of state belongings in the front. I tried to explain this to the manager, but she claimed she could not understand why this would be a problem and refused to consider an exception to the policy to allow us to stay. If she had allowed this, U-Haul would have had a storage customer for 2+ years, even in this sketchy neighborhood, because it is so inconvenient to move. But since she refused and was extremely unpleasant, we decided on the spot to move to another, safer, cleaner storage place not owned by U-Haul and forfeit our free month of storage. This made our move all the more complicated and laborious, but we're glad we were able to GTFO of there. And the cherry on top: the last day, as we were trying to check out after hours (and failing because of U-Haul's error that said we had dropped off our truck in Texas), we had to chase off someone going from truck to truck trying to break in, and our truck didn't come with a chain lock so we had to sacrifice our own. We still don't know if they officially received truck, since no one contacted us, as requested. Horrible place.

I had to sign up online for contactless register, then I get to the building and I have to fill out the same exact information as I did online just because you needed a hard copy too. Then the information I provided wasn't enough, my phone number for example, you need another one to contact me, I don't have another number so I give one to where I can be reached and because they live with me and are on the paper as a person for emergency and to have access there number doesn't work either. Once completed, I went to get my truck loaded to bring back to the unit we just rented, key card doesn't work, well that's because she failed to tell us that the storage units were at a different location. Once we got in, the unit was much smaller than we expected and had a rat trap in it and tried to call to see if there was a bigger one available, sat on the phone with customer service for over an hour as no one at the store answered the phone and we were transferred there. She found us another unit but wasn't able to give us a unit number says its in an email we should have received, which we never got, then told we need to go to the storage office and they can get it, only to find out they are now closed and we cant until tomorrow. We ended up up canceling it all together and wont be back.

I filled out the paperwork online for my reservation for contactless, just to have to do it again when I got there, what's the point of contactless if I have to do it twice just because you need it twice, print it? Then I had to have multiple phone numbers, for example and I only have 1 number but I wasn't allowed to repeat it, So I gave another number I could be reached if needed and that was also my emergency contact but the system wouldn't let me use that number twice either. Then once completed I left and came back with my load to store and card wasn't working, well she failed to tell me that my unit was down the street at another location. Got to my unit and there was a rat trap in it and it was smaller than what I was expecting, so we called to see if there was another unit available that would work and no one at the store answered the phone. We were redirected to customer service, got another unit but didn't give us a unit number, said it was in the email received which we never received, sat on hold for an hour, to talk to no one because it was after hours now and we would have to wait for the store to open to get then info and sign a new contract with all the info I had already received. Nathan G | First ImpressionsWhile the workers were great the experience was not. I reserved a 10x15 climate controlled unit about a month in advance. I showed up 2 days earlier to see if everything was good and was told it was. On the move in date, I was told there was No 10x15 units. The staff said they would give me a 5x10 and a 10x10 for the same price so I was fine with that. Then I go to put things inside the units and the 5x10 is good but the other unit was not a 10x10 and was occupied. So then the staff said all they had was an 8x10, which I said I will see if that can work. I feel I should get more off my rent since I still didn't get the amount of space I reserved. Also everytime I open the 8x10 the alarm goes off. I called and it was supposed to be changed but it went off the next 2 days. It might sound like I'm complaining but overall I'm good. I do feel I should get a reduction in my rate for not being whole and I believe the staff are doing a good job.

The security code I was given kept saying unregistered. I'm very disappointed that such a large company my family grew up using to move from place to place as a child is now so unresponsive.

Ave where my storage site is and out the door within 20 mins.while there were approximately 4 other customers in line. Totally professional on a busy sunny Saturday afternoon. As a customer i couldnt walk in without somebody rushing in behind me before the doors closed. You dont pay me for security. Thats your job. And you evicted me because of your poor service and lack of security. On top of all that i signed a contract saying after 3 months i would get a later time to go in my storage unit. You completely ignored that even though it was on the contract. You left me a letter saying i breached our contract when in fact you facilty breached the contract. I have never in my life dealt with such poor service from a storage unit facility. I will indeed be leaving reviews across all platforms for you. I hope in the future you will provide better service for your customers

Otherwise everything was pretty good. It was a bit complicated to get into the facility. Changing to the key card helped but I only needed it for a few more days after I got it.

The parking lot and one of the U-Haul staff drive up to her car and said if I see your car parked here again wihoit you in it I will have you towed and before she could even open her mouth he drove off. He was confrontational And very argumentative and rude. It was not nessasary to approach her in such a tone of voice. We understand not wanting her to leave her car parked there but all he needed to so was ask.her not to and not be so confrontational. He was acting like she was a criminal and we won't ever deal with u haul again as long as there are people who treat others in such a manner. Unproffesional and not nessasary. Whomever is i. Charge if that site.in the evenings needs to be knocked down a few notches. He is rude and a power hungry little man
