Nothing major, but I've rented box trucks twice in the last month and both had very worn steering wheels. This causes a stickiness to come off onto my hands while driving, and its quite annoying. Maybe change the cleanser used to clean the steering wheels between uses and this won't happen. Anyway, still a great experience.Thomas C.
The truck cab was not near clean enough. There food crumbs everywhere, as well as sticky substances all over the dash area. I did not like this. Also, no one told me to watch out for the email to inspect the truck before leaving, and of course I found damage later that was already there. The reservation process was very confusing so I actually went to the location. The gentleman that input my reservation made it even more confusing by not wanting all of the information I had to provide. Specifically the drop off location. He said it didn't matter. Part of the process was to also certify that to vehicle. He actually wasn't going to do that until I asked about it and then he looked in the monitor that showed all the vehicles parked in the parking lot and said which one is it. I didn't walk away from the facility feeling like I knew the exact cost of the rental. When I picked it up everything went well and when I dropped it off everything went well.David K.

The truck I was rented was very unstable and shouldn't be allowed on the road. It felt like the wheels were going to fall off, extremely hard to shift from park to drive or from drive to park. The truck wasn't cleaned when I picked up, the driver side door has something wrong internally where it sounded like the window would shatter at any moment. Overall I think this truck is a 1990's model that needs to be removed from the fleet, it just didn't feel safe and I've driven large trucks and tow trucks my whole life. After my awful experience with the location Alco Rentals LLC in Missouri City, TX, The staff apologized for what happened to me and even went back into the system to assess the photograph taken by Alco Rentals that was uploaded to show the trailer connection in which he discovered that it was not connected properly prior to me leaving. This truck had brake issues. It was a hazard to us and others. Got in an accident due to the brake issues, and to be honest this truck was in rough shape.. it rattled excessively it was seriously so dangerous and should be taken off the road. I've never had a truck like this in years and when I asked I was told â€œthey all do thisâ€ which is not the case. This is not our first experience with U-Haul but I assure you it's our last. Such a disappointment how much U-Haul has gone down hill in the past 2 years.Rachael A.
When I took the truck it was showing that air pressure was less. Upon checking with the associate at u-haul, I was told that it is fine. I was not able to see starting mileage and could not agree or dispute with the mileage shown by the uhaul app. after a minute I could figure out that the mileage showed for just a second took a picture for my records, by then I did not had a way to go back into app to check the miles previously mentioned. When I returned the truck I was charged for 67 miles but when I calculate the distance travelled it was 47 miles. I have been charged for 20 miles extra which I never drove. I mentioned the thing about tyre pressure level problem in the app while returning. I have also been charged $10 extra for something called CDW.Vinod Kumar K.

I have been charged for small dolly but the same is not there in the truck due to that we were hired a person to help and this costed me additional $70. Very poor service. Request you to check for the order and make sure everything is there before handover.mruta M.

Check out was absolutely flawless. It could mot have been better. Everything was ready and I was in and out fast. Check in was a train wreck and took far too long. I wanted to leave with my final receipt in hand and that appears to be foreign to the process. The van was nearly new, perfectly clean and drove like a dream. The manager at this Plano tx office is not responding to several calls to his office. I have never stored anything at his units and he has no signed agreements from me. Double Charges have been made on my credit card for two months now. I had u boxes go through Plzno but never stored Anything there or singed for storage units there. My 2 u boxes were picked up in Calif and received in Denton Tx where I now have the stuff in storage. I paid thousands of dollars for this!!! No Amount of contact with his office charges the continued auto charges they continue auto charge my bank so I M filing fraud charges on the company in order to get my money back and get the manager to do his job honestly and correctly. The entire return facility was full on Sunday night. I had to park the Uhaul on the parking lot as I didn't feel comfortable leaving it with the key fir return as it wasn't exactly where it's supposed to be. So, I had to drive there again on Monday afternoon to re-park the Uhaul to the arrival/return area. Very inconvenient overall, but the individual who helped me was very prompt in greeting me and said everything is fine on the return.Kam L.
The check in was way too long and cumbersome and rated near the bottom for any similar rentals or service. The reservation process is also far too long due to U-Haul trying to see everything they can. The day we moved in we realized the locking panel didn't work. We reported it to the office and they said we could move our items to another unit or we could use a tool like a hammer or screw driver to bang the panel closed every time we wanted to enter. As we had JUST moved in, we told them we wanted them to fix the panel. We left a key to our lock and asked to be called when it was repaired. We never received as call. We went to the office and they had no idea what we were talking about AND our account had been closed. After explaining, they found our key, notes about the unit and had to reinstate the account. Again, we left asking them to repair the locking panel. After that was finally taken care of, the flood occurred in which we lost the only valuable items we had in storage. We decided to move out, only to show up and find a notice that the building was on lockdown until further notice...having been given NO prior notice via email or any other source before clearing our day to move out. Then, comically we were informed that the rents would be increasing. Getting in touch with anyone in the office by phone is impossible. The ONLY time we were able to communicate with anyone was if we emailed "Jordan" directly. Worst experience we've ever had with a storage facility.Delight H. | Overall Experience

Initially, I would have rated U-haul five stars. But, yesterday, we had to move our belongings from the storage unit due to water damage resulting from a fire in a different unit. As we were removing items from the unit to check for damage, we noticed signs of bed bugs. We have NEVER had bed bugs, so I know they had to come from a different unit. The staff did not explain that a 10x15 is actually 2 units & I was mis-informed about a discount that was not given to me. On 1 of the units, the staff couldn’t even open the door because it wasn’t working properly. Asked staff to get it fixed before we use it. On the 5x10, the door stuck & my husband had to crawl under the door to open it, so it could shut properly. Then there was water in 2 different hallways from the leaky roof. Not a good situation at all & very disappointing, since this is one of the largest U-haul facilities near by. Also ramps are too small & inconvenient. The storage unit I requested was not the same as I requested. There was a huge floor length cylinder that took up valuable space. When I initially got set up with this storage unit, I thought I was set up on auto-debit but was not. Got charged a late fee and was to be refunded the $15 late fee. It never happened, I spent a good month trying to connect with someone and never got any response. Storage Manager consistently attempted to up-sale the transaction. Repeatedly tried to enforce policies without proof. She added insurance and a padlock without my acknowledgment. When I questioned it, she stated it was policy in order to get the FREE month of storage but was unable to provide said proof. She was very rude. When I signed up and paid for my storage unit, the sales associate never told me I needed an access code or gave me an access card. Therefore, when we showed up at 9p with a truckload to put in the Unit, we were not able to get in! I had hired movers to help, so now have to pay them again to come a second time. I cleaned my unit out 2 days before my rent was due. I called the 24th and 25th to cancel my account. I was on hold for 30 minutes each time and no one ever answered. The clerk at West McKinney location told me Plano location would have a 10 x 20 climate control space, when I arrived they were told no “they do not have a 10x 20 space so I had to take 2 10 x 10 spaces, therefore had to buy 2 locks instead of 1. The charges for 2 spaces were more than for 1 10 x 20 unit. They should have honored the price for a 10 x 20 unit. Originally the truck and trailer would have to be returned to the West McKinney location, very inconvenient, but after speaking another with attendant, Anna, said that “no” I do not have to West McKinney location. She was the most helpful and professional in all the attendants I was in contact during this 2 day ordeal. It was a nightmare during the West McKinney location and would never go back there. I always choose this location it's my favorite. They are always friendly and helpful. The truck was somewhat dirty, but I already prepared to wipe it down with wipes and the wipes were very dirty steering wheel and drivers seat. I also wore gloves to ensure safety with the virus I think the trucks need to be wiped down on the inside for safety. The signal light did not work and the truck needed an alignment. Did not discover until I had gotten on the highway and had a timeline to get to my destination or I would have returned. I reported These concerns upon return. Might want to check the truck out more thoroughly prior to rentals. The storage unit was also dirty. Had a few issues. Biggest I had was that I set up auto pay, and TWICE I got nasty notices in the mail saying I had missed my payment and threatened with lockout. I set up auto pay when I first got the unit, again after the first error, and AGAIN after the 2nd error. So 3rd time was the charm I guess. Also got the feeling the staff was quite nosey. Almost everytime I went to my unit a staff member showed up. My unit was on the 2nd floor, and one time I went to drop off some heavy furniture. Elevator wasnt working so I called the front office.
