Terrible location won't return or recommend it to anyone


The first truck was in the middle of the line. Had to return to the counter to get the keys to another vehicle. The second vehicle had a low tire and the mileage wasn't correct. It took them about 20 minutes before I finally requested another truck. The 3rd truck was fine.


Very clean location and super clean van. Very impressed by service provided by people working in this location.


Best customer service I have ever experienced at a UHaul location to date. Every person that I spoke with and engaged with with friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Great experience!

I waited 20 minutes to turn in a truck because a trailer hook-up process was blocking the drive. The employee stood there and talked to the customer and didn't seem to acknowledge that trucks were attempting to pull in. It was ridiculous. My truck windows were dirty and the ride in a 10 foot vehicle was worse than the larger trucks I have rented from Uhaul in the past. I have ways had good experiences until today.


Hi Team, I took my Uhaul truck on Jan 3rd and my receipt was $57.57 and I have used it below 2 hours only and hand over the key to Uhaul staff on the same day. The next day I have received one more receipt of $36.70 and added 2 days' charges of everything. I have raised my complained but still its not resolved.

Not a pleasant experience!! My issue is not with the local office, but with U-Haul's unsatisfactory check-in process. I have rented equipment at this location many times over several years. I get annoyed that even though I made a reservation, there is always a lengthy wait and check in process, even though I have started checking in online. Even though I have checked in online, selection what equipment and services I do or do not want and providing copies of my drivers license and credit card information, I am asked again what equipment and services I want and and again am asked for my drivers license and credit card. U-Haul seriously needs to consider implementation of a process similar to National Car Rental, where I go straight to the rental vehicle without having to physically check-in.

Plano location was great, people friendly. The Carbondale dropoff location was small, hard to get to, and very congested. The gentlemen working there was helpful.


Pickup of the trailer at the Plano North location was a bit of a mess. Took over an hour and ten minutes and I ended up leaving with a trailer that was bigger than originally rented (not a huge issue, but bigger than necessary resulting in horrible gas mileage over my trip). The first trailer I had connected to had a malfunctioning light and couldn't be fixed, so they hooked me to another trailer the original size. After fifteen minutes of waiting to find out if I could take that one they told me that I wouldn't be able to because it had been reported stolen. Ended up getting hooked to the larger trailer and was sent on my way after a few more minutes. The employees were all extremely helpful and courteous, however it seems as if management needed to get their act together and have the store better staffed for the volume of customers renting and returning that day. It would be hard for me to return to this location based on my overall experience, however, the employees genuine good mood and attitudes did make it a better experience.


Aways go to this location when I need to rent equipment. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

I haul trailers frequently and just needed the motorcycle to haul my bike. I had pointed out a fire that looked bad on the trailer and in return just asked if I could get a spare so that I wouldn't be stuck on the side of the road. Instead of even just swapping the tire out I was just told if it blew that I had roadside assistance. And of course on the trip the tire blew out and was stuck on the side of the road for 2 hours at 3am in the morning. So of course I was annoyed and when the road side assistance showed up he ended up swapping both sides out because the other tire that hadn't blown was also in horrible shape. He couldn't believe the trailer left with the tires that were on it.

This review is not specific to this drop off location this is about my entire experience with Uhaul. First off, when they called to schedule the drop off of my Ubox they said I was the first stop on the route and it would be at my place between 8am-9am. When 9:30 came and still no box I called only to be told there was an issue with the truck but the issue would be resolved in 10-15 mins and be there soon. Another 2 hours pass and still no box. I call again only to be told it's going to be hours before the box arrives. I took the day off work because of the original time quote and missed an entire days worth of pay only to have my box not come to me until 4:30pm-5:00pm which means I could have worked my full shift and not missed out on money had they just quoted me the right time. When I called to complain about this the lady said a manager would be pulling the call to confirm I was quoted that time (which I was) and would be reaching out to me for a refund which has yet to happen. Now for the drop off. I had changed my phone number a few weeks before the box was dropped off at the second location and it's completely my fault for forgetting to update the phone number in your system. However, no one emailed me letting me know they tried to reach out to me about scheduling and no one called the secondary number I'm almost positive I had put down on file. All I got was an email saying I qualified to keep the box at your facilities for an extra charge. When they finally came to drop off my box the driver told me there was no way to drop off the box anywhere near my actual apartment and so we would be needing to carry my entire life's worth of stuff across the huge apartment complex and up 3 flights of stairs with not even so much as an apology. When I tried to get her to drop it off closer to my apartment she basically said no she was going to be putting it where she wanted to and there was nothing I could do about it. Luckily she had a manager get involved and we were able to find a work around and the manager we spoke with was very helpful. The driver on the other hand gave me immense amounts of attitude in the process and made my moving day a million times more stressful than it needed to be. I chose Uhaul because you are supposed to be a reputable company whom I have moved with a few times before but this is the absolute worst service I have ever received from any company I have ever dealt with. If I am to ever move again I will absolutely be going with a different company and anyone I know who is moving I will be sure to let them know what an awful experience this has been and to save themselves the trouble. Again, there has been nothing done at this point to reconcile the situation and I am just besides myself with how terrible this was.
