The gentlemen who checked me in did not respect my privacy. I asked him to write the storage room number down and he proceeds to deliberately say it anyways out loud. We proceded to walk to the storage Building and I asked to go back and please change my storage number and to not say it out loud and do you know he still said it will be on the same floor out loud again. He said Why does it matter we have locks on each unit.
I purchased the $11.95 insurance because something was very off about his interaction with me.
So unprofessional and lastly he didn't move the truck for me. He gave me the keys and pointed this is the truck.
Please watch the video to see his interaction and that he didn't pull the truck out also he made me wait until 9am on the dot but the doors were open so I was confused on that as well. Why open the doors if your going to make me stand there and wait
Every time I've used Uhaul they pull the truck out and make sure everything is documented and ready to drive. 11/10/25 Sunday

This drop off was so easy. While this location was a few more miles away, help was waiting when I pulled in, trailer checked and unhooked, and I was done. Very efficient and did not have to park the trailer. More room to maneuver at this location versus some of the others, so will definitely use again

Everything was okay, up until the end when I was checking in the trailer on return. The old guy that was doing it, accused me of messing with the chains that secure to the trailer to the back of my vehicle. I had watched him attach these chains prior to me taking the rental. I was the only one with my vehicle for the rental and never touched the chains. He was insistent that if I didn't do it, that somebody had to. lol Yep "him"
I felt it was pretty rude and disrespectful to be that way. Honestly, it was his mistake, and he either didn't realize it or admit he screwed up. Would have rated higher, but I just didn't need his attitude. This may seem small, but it kind of struct me odd on how he was acting, and unprofessional. Everyone else in the establishment were great! They were busy, picking up and dropping off-but it's something that I expect with a rental agency-you get highs and lows during the day. I still recommend them, and just hope old guy has better days

My lock was cut off so that a rat poison container could be put in the unit. When I went in and tried my key it wouldn't work. They wanted $50.00 to cut the lock off.
The rats did get into my stuff and chewed it. I had to throw the stuff out. One of my boxes looked like it had gotten wet. The items inside had something on them. I don't know if laundering will work to clean them.

Returning UHaul was okay=had to wait longer then I should have for my receipt.
Windshield was not clean on the inside of truck, otherwise rest of UHaul was clean.
Inside of location was very clean and organized.
Floors were being waxed and doors were locked and did not have sign on door to use another entrance. I was very concerned finding the doors locked that I would not be able to get the UHaul I rented as I thought the location was closed.

I had done review before on services of reps at the store was not the best of customer service. The vehicle rented and location was good. I had also prior review noted using packers/unloading moving services of Happy Helpers and wanted to updated that experience. Uhaul services noted to me that any reviews once posted can not be updated nor deleted as requested. So to reflect an attempt to remedy; I am doing this follow up review. Happy Helpers moving services (management) has resolved the issue of costs and charges. Refunded the booking fee. They were a company wanting to resolve any/my concerns and did such. I remove review over help-costs here to best it can be done.

This was my worse U-Haul experience ever. I asked for a cargo van, was “guaranteed” one, and when I arrived…. No cargo van. I tried the 24/7 app and it stated I was 1.5 miles away although I was sitting in the parking lot. I called the rep on the 800 number and despite telling her my location was turned on, she didn’t know why or how to fix my problem. She recommended another store - they had a cargo van. Went there - no cargo van. They had a “truck.” When I was done using the truck - I tried to turn it in with a photo of mileage and fuel - didn’t work. Again - I had to call customer service to have them verify. She said it appeared I was at not at the store as I sat in that parking lot. She did “check me back in” and I told her there had to be a reason your GPS thinks I’m elsewhere. Only then did she say to go to my apps and turn on “precise” location under the u-haul app. The first rep I spoke to had NO IDEA - the second rep knew. This needs to be addressed in training- AND your app needs to be changed to state tgat “precise” location needs to be turned on.
You call you 10 - 14” U-Haul (box) trucks “vans”…. And the common person knows a VAN to look like a cargo van. I think that was the confusion when ordering - although I clicked on “cargo van.”

I worked with Scott at U-Haul Moving & Storage of North Sarasota, FL. I had the most pleasant experience. He was attentive to what I needed, patient in assisting me even when I waffled on my decisions. He helped with great suggestions and an ultimate solution that fit my budget and my needs, with ease. When I picked up the truck on Friday in Ft Wayne I didn’t have a great experience. I was handed keys and turned loose in a lot full of trucks to find it on my own. When I got in the truck was not very clean. Windshield covered in bugs. I also participated in a load share pulling a U Box back to Florida. The man in the lot showed me the fender on it was broke and held on with a bungi cord. By the time I reached my first stop the fender was rubbing the tire. I had to remove it to keep from damaging a tire. Then I opened the back of the truck to find trash and part of an old bed frame. Was not a great experience. Also the truck has a leaky muffler and both doors are sprung on the cab. Have to slam them to get them to shut.

The lot attendant was not very welcoming or friendly… he was adequate but also off putting…. Several instances I encountered with him that stood out. I worked for Publix for 18 years & 7 in management so I’m not just spouting nonsense. This guy was gruff, non welcoming & lousy demeanor overall. That’s the only knock on this facility. Rental / office staff ( 2 employees at my time of purchase. 1 male & 1 female ) Both were top notch excellent customer service care & support.

Made my reservation ONE MONTH in advance. Was told I could pick up at Attic U Haul in Venice. Called Attic 1 week in advance, they said “no, we have nothing for you”. So I called UHaul and was PROMISED a trailer at U Haul Warm Springs (American RV Technology) GUARANTEED reserved for pick up on my date, a Sunday. I pull up and it’s CLOSED.
YOU GUYS SUCK.
Had to drive 1 hour north and the Sarasota office hooked me up. AGAIN, U HAUL reservation system SUCKS.

The price is misleading. $19.95 a day then they wack you with the millage charge. Over $600 to move my son’s stuff from Bradenton to Gainesville 2 hours away. Then returning earlier on a Sunday mid morning was graced with the rudest reception. Sorry we don’t know your system of parking and returning the equipment. I pulled in and the service guy was backing up a truck so I waited out of respect because I noticed the return lane was backed up. So I asked nicely were he would like me to park it and his response was in the freaking return lane. I said there is a trailer blocking the lane go around it? His response yeah whatever. I parked the truck brought the keys inside with me only to wait for 30min to check out when the guy comes in looking for the keys inside handed them to him and he says do you need a receipt? I said that would be nice. He said rudely with a forceful tone I will email it to you, you can go don’t need to wait around. Look I get it you’re busy probably pissed off because you gotta work on a Sunday but just be nice at least make your customer feel good after they spent a huge dollar amount on your equipment. Be more kind focus on customer service. Also work on your advertising it’s quite a shock when you sit down and they ask you were you are going and ad in the millage cost then you got to sit there in front of them deciding in your head how your going to afford it.

The older gentleman who rented us the truck is not a very good people person. Was very dry and seemed annoyed with any interaction. Was right on the point of being rude and condescending. I used this location because my regular U-Haul location was out of the trailer size I needed. When I told the guy checking me in at the new location I wanted to pay with cash, he said there would be an extra fee of around $34 to my $26 fee because I was paying with cash. I asked him why, and he replied, “ This ain’t no grocery store, we don’t like cash”. I told him thats not the policy at my usual store. I paid with my credit card. The trailer I rented wobbled a LOT at slow speeds when not loaded. Two days earlier I rented the same size and type trailer from my usual location and the trailer didn’t wobble to near this degree.
I’ll continue to rent from my usual location. I won’t rent here again unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Parking situation for the storage units is abysmal. Random cars seemingly parked there for hours if not all day on multiple occasions, didn’t seem like someone parked to work on their unit but just parked and left. Trailers and trucks and u-boxes everywhere by that parking makes it difficult.

I moved from out of state. They were quick to help unload my car so I could get items into storage. I also rented a truck to move items from storage to my new home. The rental was available at the time reserved and clean.

I found the process to finalize the rental of a storage space VERY frustrating. I worked with Scott Coumbe to start the rental process. I tried to complete the reservation using both the computer and android application, with no success. I kept getting a message of an error but no indication of what the error was. The message seemed to say the cc code was missing or wrong but that wasn't the case as I tried two different cc with the same result. My reservation was a free first month. The online payment system doesn't seem to be able to deal with this. As a customer, I don't know what the problem was. I also talked with customer service. The lady said she called the store. In addition to the payment problem, I asked about the insurance requirement. I was told I didn't need to bring in any documentation yet when I was at the store & finalizing the process, I needed the insurance information. Noah (in the store) completed the paperwork. I apologize for him to receive the brunt of my frustration with the whole process and this whole experience was not what I expect from UHaul. The rating for "Was the staff friendly and helpful?" was not based on Noah but based on the whole process. The "Would you recommend this U-Haul storage facility to a friend?" is a maybe answer but wasn't a choice.

The experience I had from day, one of April 2023 to June 1924 Uhaul storage facility was at Point. The staff was helpful. It was clean easy access of going in and going out a lot of lights. Location is convenient near SRQ airport and facility is clean and well lit. Alarm system works well for knowing timeline of coming and going with entry card swipe. The facility seems nice enough but I never even got to use it. It says on the website 24x7 and extended hours access but this wasn't the case. Nobody told me even once after speaking to three schedulers who were clearly aware of my drop off time for the truck that I would be using the same location for my free month of storage. I work night shift so im up usually from about 7pm until roughly 11am. So I was pretty annoyed to have a rental by the mile uhaul and show up to unload everything during my move only to find out I can't access my storage unit because it's midnight and my truck needs to be returned in two hours. So I had to find a storage unit that was available for move in that lat e at night and pay for it. Xpress storage was great, affordable, secure, and entirely self service.

I am sorry to say I left because i was paying extra for night access and when followed in by a person who didnt slide access card, then threw a fit because I asked to slide card for my safety, the manager did nothing to protect my safety. Kelly McKnitt, response was poor as a manager and unsafe. I will not use Uhaul again for storage at this facility untill new managers exist. Very dangerous be careful if you store here

Very pleased with the whole U-Haul experience. We used the U-Boxes to move from Galveston,Texas to Sarasota, Florida selecting this location because they could accommodate the U-Boxes. From there, we moved into the Climate Controlled Storage and were completely satisfied. We downsized into one of the 2 units we had rented so we are still customers.

I have had some bad experiences with past rentals and yours has been the best experience of a short term rental so far. Another plus is that it is just 2 miles from our home. The only complaint would be there’s only 1 entrance for all to get in and everyone seems to clog the entrance with cars and uhaul trucks that it’s hard to move in and out during a very hot Saturday — but facility is clean safe and employees very friendly and hard working- thanks

Cody and his fellow associate were most helpful when I personally confirmed my storage unit on site and asked questions. I had just driven down from PA and Cody took a quick moment to research some extended stay hotels since I asked if he was familiar with any. He and his actions exuded customer service, he took the extra step to drive home that he wasn't just there to push paperwork/make an up sale for the store/U-Haul. Thank you Cody for a warm welcome and helpful sigh of happy relief!

The young man at the front desk yesterday was lovely, as was Mr. McNitt; however, a man who I assume was the shift manager yesterday afternoon (07/05/21) behaved atrociously. We were planning on staying with you until October, but because of how he treated my fiance we will now be moving elsewhere by the end of the month.

I have never encountered nastier people in my life. Each time I called the uhaul person could not have been more rude. I know one woman’s name was Carole. Unhelpful. Rude. Nasty. All. I will go out of my way to discourage everyone I know not to use uhaul.
