The worst ever, I rented a truck used 16 Miles, I put 2.5 Gallon of Gas before return it and I have the Gas receipt, however they charged me an additional $30.00 for fuel service and another $23.00 for 4 gallons of Gas Total additional charge is $54.00. That is ripoff charges.

I am requesting a refund or significant adjustment for my 20-foot U-Haul truck and Load Share rental due to multiple safety and equipment issues I experienced during the trip. While driving, I was alerted by a commercial semi-truck driver that the trailer lights were not functioning, which was a serious safety concern that I was unaware of until I was already on the road. I also discovered that the electrical cord needed for the trailer lights was bolted to the trailer in a way that prevented me from properly connecting it to the truck. Additionally, I experienced a wrench warning indicator with the truck during the trip, which created further concern about the condition and reliability of the equipment. I made every effort to safely complete the trip and return U-Haul’s equipment despite these unexpected problems. I also want to address the fuel level upon return. I understand that under normal circumstances I am responsible for returning the truck with the required amount of fuel; however, considering the multiple safety and equipment problems I experienced, I am requesting that any fuel or refueling charges also be waived as part of the overall resolution. I do not believe I should be responsible for additional charges after being provided equipment that presented these issues during my rental, and I respectfully request that U-Haul review the circumstances, waive any applicable fuel-related charges, and provide an appropriate refund or adjustment for the rental.

The truck had over 126,000 miles and was in desperate need of overhaul of the engine and brakes. The engine could barely bring the truck up to 40 mph without straining (even with an empty load) and the brakes chattered so much it could shake the fillings from your teeth. The rest of the truck was in good working condition.. interior, tires, etc. were fine.

Everything went well with the transaction with the exception that the fuel was under 1/4. The contract states 1/4. I guess it was my fault that I didn’t bring it to anybody’s attention because I was charged for extra fuel when I returned it in Louisiana. Other than that, I will do my part as the customer, to make sure in the future, this doesn’t happen again.

Nothing was broken and therefore packed well by a Uhaul recommended mover. I stored my UBoxes for a long time and now have moved everything out of them. Would recommended Uhaul if you need moving and storage.

Uhaul and Moving company really need to figure out how to communicate with each other to make revisions on orders. Software REALLY needs to be improved. After a 1 hour 58 minute phone call with moving company after a few minutes with Uhaul, the addition of one box STILL did NOT go through. By chance, I drove to the airport Uhaul for lamp boxes and attempted to confirm that I would receive TWO boxes the following day. The incredible and professional employee had to add a box (for which I suspect I have now double paid). When she completed adding the new box, she found a screen that showed that I ALREADY had 2 boxes confirmed. Just need some software help. In all fairness, some of the confusion was that my sister () ordered the original box for me (Karen Russ) while she made another order for her own move with Uhaul truck from a home to another home in the same Sarasota subdivison. However, for the hours and hours of time I spent on the phone with Uhaul and the Moving company, it should have been a seamless order. I will still use Uhaul again, but I'll be certain that I know exactly what I need my first call so no changes need to be made. Karen Russ

Our reservation was for 10 am. There were a young lady at the desk who was incredibly helpful and patient. My issue is with the older man who handled the Uhaul truck and dolly. My husband had to direct him to install the straps on the tires of my Kia on th dolly. It took the old guy forever to complete the task. Then my husband had to help the gentleman up off the ground. The truck had not been cleaned or maintenanced at all. Food wrappers, to go cups and other trash was left in the truck. There was a sticky residue in the console. The cargo area was dirty and had not been swept. My husband did it. The windshield was filthy. It was my understanding that these issues should be taken care of prior to bringing us the truck. Our wait time for this process was long and we didn't leave the Sarasota location until 11 am. We got to Valdosta Georgia for our first stop and the straps had come undone. We had to call roadside assistance and wait for them to come and re-install the straps. We could have lost my Kia and caused a horrible wreck, and loss of property. Very disappointed. The older gentleman at the Sarasota location needs to retire. Roadside Assistance was efficient, friendly and helpful. We only had to wait for 45 mins to an hour.

This facility auctioned off my storage unit while I was out of town and asked them repeatedly to not sell my unit that j would pay then as soon as I got back a few days later. I spoke to multiple people there and no one one would help me....since they auctioned my unit for a measly 300 dollars I lost all of my possessions that were worth tens of thousands of dollars ....I also had this unit for 2 years and had paid around 6 thousand dollars in storage fees I think they should have waited for me to pay. I will never use this place again

I arrived just before 7AM and Jim took care of the paperwork and payment and I was on my way a little after 7 o'clock. I returned the truck around 3:30PM and was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Very efficient service. I was very pleased with my overall experience and would not hesitate to rent a truck from this location again.

On the day of my scheduled return, my drop-off location was changed by the scheduled location to one 12 miles away. If you want to improve the customer experience, I would suggest actually focusing on the customer instead of the dealers. Moving is difficult enough without getting jerked around at the last minute by U-Haul. If there’s a next time, it won’t be with U-Haul.

The gentlemen who checked me in did not respect my privacy. I asked him to write the storage room number down and he proceeds to deliberately say it anyways out loud. We proceded to walk to the storage Building and I asked to go back and please change my storage number and to not say it out loud and do you know he still said it will be on the same floor out loud again. He said Why does it matter we have locks on each unit. I purchased the $11.95 insurance because something was very off about his interaction with me. So unprofessional and lastly he didn't move the truck for me. He gave me the keys and pointed this is the truck. Please watch the video to see his interaction and that he didn't pull the truck out also he made me wait until 9am on the dot but the doors were open so I was confused on that as well. Why open the doors if your going to make me stand there and wait Every time I've used Uhaul they pull the truck out and make sure everything is documented and ready to drive. 11/10/25 Sunday

My lock was cut off so that a rat poison container could be put in the unit. When I went in and tried my key it wouldn't work. They wanted $50.00 to cut the lock off. The rats did get into my stuff and chewed it. I had to throw the stuff out. One of my boxes looked like it had gotten wet. The items inside had something on them. I don't know if laundering will work to clean them.

Parking situation for the storage units is abysmal. Random cars seemingly parked there for hours if not all day on multiple occasions, didn’t seem like someone parked to work on their unit but just parked and left. Trailers and trucks and u-boxes everywhere by that parking makes it difficult.

The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient. The storage facility was always clean and easy to get in and out of. 100% recommend. I moved from out of state. They were quick to help unload my car so I could get items into storage. I also rented a truck to move items from storage to my new home. The rental was available at the time reserved and clean.

I found the process to finalize the rental of a storage space VERY frustrating. I worked with Scott Coumbe to start the rental process. I tried to complete the reservation using both the computer and android application, with no success. I kept getting a message of an error but no indication of what the error was. The message seemed to say the cc code was missing or wrong but that wasn't the case as I tried two different cc with the same result. My reservation was a free first month. The online payment system doesn't seem to be able to deal with this. As a customer, I don't know what the problem was. I also talked with customer service. The lady said she called the store. In addition to the payment problem, I asked about the insurance requirement. I was told I didn't need to bring in any documentation yet when I was at the store & finalizing the process, I needed the insurance information. Noah (in the store) completed the paperwork. I apologize for him to receive the brunt of my frustration with the whole process and this whole experience was not what I expect from UHaul. The rating for "Was the staff friendly and helpful?" was not based on Noah but based on the whole process. The "Would you recommend this U-Haul storage facility to a friend?" is a maybe answer but wasn't a choice.

The experience I had from day, one of April 2023 to June 1924 Uhaul storage facility was at Point. The staff was helpful. It was clean easy access of going in and going out a lot of lights. They had enough carts so you can move your merchandise rather easily, and the location was a very, very good spot, thank you

Location is convenient near SRQ airport and facility is clean and well lit. Alarm system works well for knowing timeline of coming and going with entry card swipe. This place is run well and I have seen very low turnover of personell here in the year plus I have been a customer. Great work to all involved they just do their jobs and get it done.

The facility seems nice enough but I never even got to use it. It says on the website 24x7 and extended hours access but this wasn't the case. Nobody told me even once after speaking to three schedulers who were clearly aware of my drop off time for the truck that I would be using the same location for my free month of storage. I work night shift so im up usually from about 7pm until roughly 11am. So I was pretty annoyed to have a rental by the mile uhaul and show up to unload everything during my move only to find out I can't access my storage unit because it's midnight and my truck needs to be returned in two hours. So I had to find a storage unit that was available for move in that lat e at night and pay for it. Xpress storage was great, affordable, secure, and entirely self service.

I am sorry to say I left because i was paying extra for night access and when followed in by a person who didnt slide access card, then threw a fit because I asked to slide card for my safety, the manager did nothing to protect my safety. Kelly McKnitt, response was poor as a manager and unsafe. I will not use Uhaul again for storage at this facility untill new managers exist. Very dangerous be careful if you store here

Very pleased with the whole U-Haul experience. We used the U-Boxes to move from Galveston,Texas to Sarasota, Florida selecting this location because they could accommodate the U-Boxes. From there, we moved into the Climate Controlled Storage and were completely satisfied. We downsized into one of the 2 units we had rented so we are still customers.

I have had some bad experiences with past rentals and yours has been the best experience of a short term rental so far. Another plus is that it is just 2 miles from our home. I store documents, antiques, instruments etc, during hurricane season since we live near coast and in a flood zone. Items are irreplaceable so I feel safer that way. The only complaint would be there’s only 1 entrance for all to get in and everyone seems to clog the entrance with cars and uhaul trucks that it’s hard to move in and out during a very hot Saturday — but facility is clean safe and employees very friendly and hard working- thanks

Cody and his fellow associate were most helpful when I personally confirmed my storage unit on site and asked questions. I had just driven down from PA and Cody took a quick moment to research some extended stay hotels since I asked if he was familiar with any. He and his actions exuded customer service, he took the extra step to drive home that he wasn't just there to push paperwork/make an up sale for the store/U-Haul. The young man at the front desk yesterday was lovely, as was Mr. McNitt; however, a man who I assume was the shift manager yesterday afternoon (07/05/21) behaved atrociously. We were planning on staying with you until October, but because of how he treated my fiance we will now be moving elsewhere by the end of the month. I have never encountered nastier people in my life. Each time I called the uhaul person could not have been more rude. I know one woman’s name was Carole. Unhelpful. Rude. Nasty. All. I will go out of my way to discourage everyone I know not to use uhaul.
