I reserve a unit at one location, when I arrive, they said its not available, they send me to another location that had a 10x10 unit. Which was further away, meanwhile I rented a uhaul truck prior which increased my mileage and expenses. I was on Budget and it through me off.. This was the filthiest piece of equipment I have ever rented from U-Haul. In addition both seats were covered with some kind of animal hair, when I got out from my shoulders to my legs covered in animal hair - it was not a good experience Uhaul. Old truck and one windshield wiper blade fell off during a heavy rain in an area there is nothing. I almost had a car accident.FRANCISCO R.
Truck was clean inside the cabin but the truck itself had some problems. The low air pressure in the tires light remained on the whole trip. The left turn signal was falling out of the slot. They had to tape it in. The gas level was not the same on the paper then it was inside the truck. And most troubling thing was the alignment was off and I had to fight the steering from pulling to the right. If I let go of the wheel the truck went to the right big time.GEROGINE D.

The trailer I had reserved at my original location had a nail in a tire from the previous customer, so I had to go to this new U Haul location. U Haul said they texted and emailed me to let me know, but I never received either. I went to my original pickup location and found this out, then drove down to the new U Haul location (10415 N Florida Ave) Between pickup and return, this cost me an extra $20 in fuel and another 1hr of my day I lost another 1hr of my day because of congestion in the parking lot and waiting in line inside the store. There was only one person inside the store helping customers, and I was 6th in line. at least two other people came inside the store then left because of how long the line was. â€œTreyâ€ was most helpful, very efficient and friendly! We pulled into that facility fuming mad and he made up for all of the unpleasant situations we had been experiencing. To elaborate, we drove FAR to drop off our trailer at the original drop place that was on our paperwork. We called en route and received a â€œno voicemail has been set up messageâ€. When we pulled up we were told, â€œsorry I am full. You can't leave that here.â€ End of story. No suggestions. We called U-haul and finally hung up after 21+minutesâ€¦ Google searched another location. Pulled up, parked our trailer amongst other rentals, then went to find someone who promptly and rudely told us it couldn't stay because he doesn't take trailers. He also said he would not help us lift it to reconnect and that if we left it there, â€œâ€¦it will be towed and you will be chargedâ€¦â€. Did I mention that we tried calling them before traveling across town in traffic only to receive the same â€œno voicemail set up messageâ€? We called two more â€œU-Haul Dealersâ€ and were told they wouldn't take trailers. Then we made yet another call and were told they didn't take trailers, but the â€œMain store on Florida Ave didâ€. Finally, called the store on Florida, and connected with Trey whom I initially mentioned. We once again drove back across town and low and behold, they would accept our trailer return. How in incredibly ridiculous and frustrating that after a 15 hour drive and a move we couldn't return our trailer. I would like a response from someone regarding your lack of customer service. Well the U Haul I rented.. was leaking rain water thru the windshield.. it wasn't pleasant at all.. I had to continue to put paper napkins between the windshield keep from getting the water rain getting inside the truck.. But overall the truck helped me move...linda M.

This isn't a review for the location but the experience overall. When we went to drop off the vehicle the original location we picked, turned us away because their lot was full. After driving out of our way to drop it off we were not notified of this beforehand, the location told us we should have received a text with a new location but never received one. After waiting on hold for customer service for over 30mins to find an open location, since it was after hours and the next location we tried was closed, we then had to drive out of our way again to drop off the vehicle at a location that had space. After doing that, Uhaul attempted to charge us $40 for the mileage even though it was lack of communication from Uhaul that caused us to have put more mileage on the truck. Every time we called to talk to someone it was over a 30min hold time. Worst experience ever. When a person is moving, they're busyâ€¦ we don't have 30mins to an hour to wait on hold just to get a new location for drop off because the company didn't communicate with their customers. The drop off and pick up locations were fine, but the company itself is terrible. Again, worst experience ever.Tyler B.

The attendants both that helped me rent both were very knowledgeable and efficient in their process management. I would suggest that all employees adhere to the mask wearing even if they are vaccinated, the delta variant can still infect vaccinated people and they can infect others. Tampa is leading in breakthrough cases at this time and as a professional facilities manager I can advice you that it's a serious issue. The very very first thing you can do to improve service to your next customer, is to have somebody answer the darn phone. I spent hours trying to get through to my U-Haul location but ended up getting rooted to the call center and most of the time the message I had for my local U-Haul never got through. I needed to get access to my u-box, I called Wednesday night to have my u-box available Friday afternoon. When I got there Friday afternoon they had been so busy that they couldn't get to getting my u box out and available to me and it wasn't until Monday afternoon that I was able to gain access to my u box. Many times when I went to my local U-Haul store there was one person at the counter occasionally there were two The counter is set up for at least four if not five or six people to help customers but no one was there. So no one is answering the phone no one is at the counter and you end up with long lines waiting and I noticed one gentleman there with his two children who after an hour waiting in line just got out of line and left. I would really like to see your business be a success and I do know that the Tampa market is incredibly busy, but you have to hire the people that can do the job. I also got a quote to have a trailer hitch installed and even though my e4350 van is not typical, and by not typical I mean it is a converted shuttle bus and I'm converting it to a private coach a recreational vehicle. On the day I took my RV in to have the trailer hitch installed they came and told me that they would have to remove the bumper and once they had the hitch installed they could not reinstall the bumper. Now this was after oh probably 5 or 6 weeks trying to get this resolved and done. And then, I came up with another question and while I was there going through my u-box I asked to speak to a supervisor and for somebody to come out and look at my truck to see what we could do to install a hitch without removing the bumper, and your hitch guy never came out to even look at my vehicle he merely told this person I was dealing with that yeah no no no we can't do those things because they require special equipment and blah blah blah. Well I took my RV to a welding place a trailer hitch and welding place down on Hillsborough Ave and they came out and got under the vehicle and looked and went in and gave me a quote that was just a little more than the quote that I'd received from U-Haul this was on a Saturday morning, and I asked them when they could do the job and they replied be here at 8:00 Monday morning and we'll get it done for you. The same bumper is on the vehicle there is a trailer hitch receiver installed I have pulled my u-box to to its destination and unloaded it and pulled it back to the U-Haul place and delivered it back to U-Haul and ended my contract, so the hitch can be installed on this vehicle so maybe your hitch installers need some more training. Please understand, I realize this may seem like a negative review, but it's the things that I experience while working with you all that I believe you should address and fix and if you fix these things it should only benefit your business. The people who work for you guys are awesome, but the overall system isn't resilient. I spent about 8 hours trying to track down and pay for the Ubox because I had issues on the website. Then the movers had another four hours' and three trips to try to get the box. While I understand that we're under extreme circumstances, each step of the process was beset by even internal Uhaul staff having difficulty reaching the people they needed to be able to reach to solve problems--they seemed to have just as much trouble as I did in finding out who could ultimately solve the problem and had to ask multiple people multiple times for assistance themselves. That says to me that there are internal process issues with the system itself.DeAnna K.
I made my reservation almost a month ago and when I arrived at the location, I was first informed the computers were down and I had to wait roughly one hour for them to come back up. When they finally came back up I was informed by the shift manager, there were no storage units available. I attempted to contact the store manager, but had no response. I next tried to contacted the GM from my cell a couple times to hopefully have the issue resolved, but no luck. I next attempted to call the GM from the store phone and she answered. I explained to her my situation, and she informed me she would make a call to the manager on shift, but never did. The GM was no help at all and never contacted me back to give me an update. Luckily one of the gentleman at the store noticed how frustrated I was because I was waiting for an hour for the computers to come back up and to then be informed there was no storage available. I also had a trailer to return and limited time and he luckily found me another storage unit. This was by far the worst UHAUL experience yet. There were a couple of issues with my reservation. I booked the 1st week of July. However, when I arrived for my check-in I was told the storage unit I booked wasn’t available. The unit I was given in replacement was smaller then I booked. At the end of the day I was still able to fit my things miraculously. The store was able to rectify the situation at the end of the day as well. It is far too difficult for me to climb stairs with heavy items in a non-climate controlled unit. That is my fault for agreeing to a first available unit on the second floor. Although the staff was helpful, the situation was a disaster. I made a reservation on line for the biggest storage unit and when I got there the storage unit I reserved was already occupied. This caused me to have to get a smaller unit which makes my life more hectic than it already is, due to having to pull everything out each time I want something out of the unit. Not only that every time I book something with Uhaul the name that shows up on my reservation which is not my name but it is all my information every time the staff has to go in and fix it so it can reflect my name. The storage facility was clean and well maintained and easily accessible. But the representative I worked with to check in was a bit rude when I explained that I already had a disk lock and did not need to purchase one. Additionally I was a bit confused with the insurance. I added it on for my first month and asked if I could take it off for the second to save a bit of money since for the second "month" as I will only be in the unit for three additional days. At this point I was told the insurance was mandatory even though it is billed as optional when I selected the unit online.
