I reserved a 15' truck from this location online. The reservation went through ok and luckily I took a screenshot on my phone of the reservation. When I arrived to pick up my 15' truck, they told me that I had only reserved a 10' truck and they had no 15' available. When I showed them my confirmation and they saw that I had actually booked the 15', they told me I booked it at a different location and that's why it wasn't available. I then showed them my confirmation again to prove that it was the correct address. They then tried to tell me it as because I had changed my reservation so many times that it caused the problem, when I actually hadn't changed my reservation at all after first booking. Rather than just admitting that they had somehow made a mistake, they tried to put the blame on me. Having to use the 10' truck instead of the 15' that I had booked was a huge inconvenience for me and caused me to have to make multiple trips. I would appreciate if someone would reach out to me to discuss this further.JORDAN G.
The truck sharing option we used for them cargo van had a longer than expected pick up process. It took us almost 30 minutes to go through all the steps to secure our rental. I'm used to zipcar where everything is done ahead of time for reference and checks.jordan F.

Truck was filthy dirty and smelled terrible! Staff member didn't know what a deductible was and then still misquoted me and told me it was a 0 deductible if I took insurance. But I think I read that the deductible is actually $150.MATTHEW E.

I didn’t realize I had to check in at the front. All communication says “gate” which there isn’t. So I drove to my unit and out in my code - the pad said I hadn’t checked in. I walked (from the far end of the compound) to the front and a very helpful person explained the process to me. First van received had a leak in the tire. The low pressure light came on and the staff knew about the issue. I tried to fill the tire, but pressure would not increase beyond 40 psi. After returning the van, I was given another van where the check engine light came on immediately after leaving. The third van was fine and drove well, but this whole process delayed me by 1.5 hours. The staff was excellent and professional and worked hard to resolve the issues.MATTHEW G.

After U-haul promised us a 20 foot truck, we received a call from them less than 24 hours before our permanent move to another country notifying us that only 15 foot truck was available. Additionally it was offered to us in the afternoon instead of morning (after we had reserved movers to come and help us move). After we arrived at this location in the afternoon, w were told that our truck was accidentally given to another person until 5 pm. We had to cancel our movers once again and wait for the person to bring our truck since only one truck was allowed across the border. To make up for the promise of the 20 foot truck, U-haul gave is a 10 foot trailer however told us to pick up at a different location and time. This was not only extremely inconvenient and inconsiderate, the staff was extremely rude, unprofessional and not caring at all. Every promise was broken from start to finish. The original storage unit that was provided was supposed to be a 10x10 - when I arrived on-site it had been split into two 5x10. When we went to look at the unit, it was just too small, very inconvenient and too far on the inside of the building. Everyone was incredibly rude (with the exception of the lady helping me- I don't remember her name). The girl with the red hair was eating at the service desk (so no mask) and she kept interrupting the lady trying to help me with stuff that had nothing to do with me or my rental. When I returned the van, the older lady (probably supeervisor) was also rude and said to another colleague â€œthe vaccine is not a big dealâ€ as she tried to convince the colleague not to get the vaccine and instead come in to work. I was not informed about equipment location change. The driver stood in line at south service rd just to find out she had to go to another location. A U-Haul employee should have moved the truck to the South Service Rd from Woody since we had rented from South Service Rd originally. I had 2 truck rental charges when I should have had just one in a 24 hour period. I'm not sure why the call centre only booked it for 12 hours. It should be reserved automatically for 24 hours. They also charged me a $20 after hours fee. If we had returned the truck during business hours, 9 am, we would have likely had another truck rental charge. I am not impressed right now.SARAH JANE F.

Arrived at 0700 to pick up a 20 foot truck we had reserved for our move. On arrival we were informed that the 20 foot truck had broke down 3 days ago and that we should have recieved a phone call advising us. We did not receive any phone call. Moving day is stressful enough. I asked if we could get a 26 foot. Was advised by the nice young man that they were fully booked and had no trucks. The manager was rude and while this young man was trying to find a solution the manager kept snapping at him. He called several locations trying to find us even a 15 foot truck. I finally went and got my husband as she seemed as though she did not want to find a solution. My husband came back in with me and said a few stern words. Within 15 minutes they magically had a 15 foot for us. We were an hour late, stressed out and unimpressed at her attitude. I am sure it is a stressful job especially at the beginning of the month but her lack of respect was not needed. The young man was pleasant and knew how to speak to us to defuse the situation. When returning the vehicle, the staff was not wearing masks and not adhering to municipal and provincial law. They were not very helpful and shrugged me off as I came into the store to return the vehicle. As this was my first time renting uhaul, i was expecting my final invoice to be given to me in person, but i had to ask multiple times to get it. My experience was a very disappointing one. When I reached the facility, I found a lock on my allocated unit. When I went to the customer service desk, I was passed on from one rep to another (4 total) and finally the response was the system double booked my unit. I was not offered a similar unit (due to availability) and instead I was given 2 half units instead. Funny enough, when I went back to the warehouse to locate my units, one of them also had a lock on!! My only thing that wasn't perfect was the difference between my online experience and the counter. I spent some time double checking things with live chat and felt that since I spent more then an hour double checking my reservation I would just go to the counter and double check again and be on my way. The excellent employee spent a lot of time going over the things that I had already went over, since I didn't bring my computer I diidn't have quick answers to every single question, all i wanted was to get what I had spent the time reserving. After 45 minutes of questions I got the rental, if the reservation email had the instruction to bring all those questions i would have, I don't get why I was reminded to bring some info and not all the required inf. I had to take a call as that process was ridicuously long, and the person left me to explain another customers bill. That other customer was being rude and boy I felt those rude urges in me since my online work was pointless. Assuming I didn't do that online work I would say what a great team and building, there was an annoying customer in the building and the team kept there composure and was great with me and my helper, she gave me my first months rent free, I like how they get along with each other and me and my friend, they walked with me to show the keypad which i would have had to gone back and ask for help, all around they are pros and I will come back for the next move.. The most disappointing experience ever considering I heard good things about their services. Not only were they not accommodating and rude every time I came in or call, they didn’t listen to a thing we ask, was very unhelpful, and very reluctant to do anything, especially during such a tough year. Not to mention, when renting their trucks, they didn’t explain about the mileage you can’t go over and only disclose this after we return the vehicle, making us not able to get our deposit back. Moving is already stressful enough, but add on to the added stress from some hidden clause that wasn’t disclose is unacceptable. If this was explained ahead of time, we would’ve paid attention to it. The service at this location was very poor. I did not book with Uhaul storage because of the employee Zachaure Cloutier. This employee was very rude and unhelpful. Despite the manager asking him to accommodate my needs and providing me with a storage space more appropriate to load/unload my furniture he refused. UHaul exceeded ALL my expectations! One of the most professional, friendly and accommodating experiences I've had in a long time. I had a difficult situation to deal with and the team at Oakville in particular Melanie Andrew dealt with it and helped me through every step of the way. Being good at customer service is one thing in isolated incidents but achieving service excellence over a period of time is difficult, not for this team. They consistently excelled! I can only deduce that this level of service is central to the UHaul culture. At 8 pm 2 weeks ago -The facility did not assist with the investigation when a customer was physically attacked at the Woody Oakville location. The police were called & involved and perpetrator was arrested 7 days later. The facility did not assist in retrieving camera footage_claiming only one camera was working for the entire facility and only caught the beginning of the altercation. This facility was chosen as it claims to have 24-Hour Video Monitoring-untrue. Nonetheless Miranda & Zachery were extremely helpful and knowledgeable but the "manager" David did not seemingly care nor take any notes about the incident or trauma suffered by the victim . The victim had been transported to Trafalgar Oakville Hospital via ambulance from the UHaul Woody Oakville Location the previous evening after the assault. She is still recovering from the assault.
