Sarah runs an excellent U-Haul facility. My rental, a 5 x 8 trailer was ready when they said it would be and they hooked it up to my vehicle quickly. Sarah was on the lot cleaning a truck that had just come in when I returned, met me with a smile, and checked me in. I could not ask for better service. For storage or rental equipment this U-Haul dealership gets five stars.

Location and service was excellent. Their system showed incompatibility with my truck at time of pick up despite U-Haul's website stating that it was compatible when making the initial reservation. Pickup location worked around it, and it was an issue on U-Hauls side not the location of pick up.

When looking over equipment that's been rented for a truck, make sure it's accounted for, I had rented a utility dolly/hand truck and it was not in the truck when I looked, luckily the staff went and got me one right away with professionalism focused and excellent responses

Service was great, vehicle was clean and mechanically sound. It is just a shame that a $19.95/ 24 hr. period ends up being $42.07 double the amount. I can remember when local rentals did not charge for "in town" trips just the gas you used. But, over all it was a good experience, it got the job done.

I’m writing to share feedback regarding my recent U-Haul rental experience, as there were several serious safety and cleanliness issues that need to be addressed.
The truck I was given was not properly cleaned. There was visible mold growing inside the A/C vents, which is concerning from both a health and sanitation standpoint. In addition, there were dog food pellets scattered in the back of the truck, which further shows that the vehicle had not been properly cleaned or inspected before being rented out.
The windshield also had a large crack running across it, which is a major safety hazard and should never have been overlooked. On top of that, the truck still had a significant amount of ice on the roof when I picked it up. This created a dangerous situation on the expressway, as ice could have easily flown off and hit vehicles behind me. This should have been cleared before the vehicle was approved for use.
I do want to note that the employee at the return station was very friendly and helpful, and I appreciate their professionalism during the return process.
However, the condition of the vehicle itself fell far below acceptable standards. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future customers are not put at risk.

Checking the equipment back in was a "fail" on Saturday afternoon around 4 pm. I parked the truck I was returning under the canopy and the sign said to wait with the vehicle until someone arrived to check it in. I waited 10-15 minutes within sight (I believe) of the person working the front desk and no one came out to help me. Then someone showed up behind me to check their rented equipment in, and that person left their vehicle behind me and went inside to (apparently) wake up the staff. When the person working the counter finally came out he helped the second person first. Finally he sauntered over to help me. Check in went OK. As we were finishing check-in I heard someone yell to the counter person checking me in that he would take care of my truck. That second person was probably the person who was supposed to be checking in the returned equipment on the outside, and that person was nowhere around for at least 15 minutes as I was waiting. I have a customer service job and there is no way I could get away with ignoring a customer for 15+ minutes. I hope you notify the manager of this site, which in the past has been the best U-Haul location in the area. Maybe now, not so much.

It would have been great if they would have told me to expect a text before I left the parking lot, indicating to take a photo of the inside of the U-Haul and the license plate. Being older, we don't look at texts when we drive so we did not view the text until we got to our first stop. Then, when I tried to take the photo it said the link had expired.
The trouble was not with the rental itself, it was the return of the rental. And not with the people we returned it to, it was the return process being not according to the contract.

The gas cap connector that holds it when you have cap off was broken, had to sit cap on fuel pump and almost drove off without it, that should be fixed.
Volume button on radio, does not work- 1 volume or off only options
Some of our product was wet upon arrival at our event. It was raining/snowing so the back area above the cab had to have a leak somewhere, that needs to be checked.
Lastly, it was really cold while we had truck so we needed the heat. The fan wasn’t blowing very hard. Eventually the air would be warm but never blew out very hard when fan on high.
Lastly,
The gentleman that assisted me when I picked up the truck was very nice and I appreciated his assistance.

The way this facility handled a severe storm and roof damage was phenominal. I didn’t have to lift a single item when my locker was emptied out and put in a temporary trailer. Would have been nice to have been there when they moved my items back to a permanent locker but I’m sure the logistics were crazy. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied!

Only issue I ran into was the lady that took the uhaul back. She has extremely rude after I shared my concerns with the vehicle and acted like I was stupid. She needs a evaluation or something, there is no reason to act the way she did. However the guy with the gauged ears was very reassuring and kind during pickup and drop off and very costumer friendly.

The truck I drove needed an alignment pretty bad. Was somewhat difficult when it came to driving. But I’m also not sure since I’ve never drove one. I believe the guys name was Josh that I interacted with on the return. He was awesome. So I just wanted to recognize him on that. Will definitely be back if I ever need one again.

The steering wheel was rotated about 120 degrees… not quite upside down, making it difficult to steer, and gauges were blocked by the steering wheel being in this awkward position when driving straight. Needs to be fixed.
All of the personnel did a great job… courteous and efficient. I prefer this site over all other local U-Haul providers.

I have had no problem with this storage facility until a hail storm came thru and I went to my unit and found out that I had things thrown away by the facilities staff saying they were damaged in the storm. I live out of town and had staff to move my things because I couldn’t make it to do so and wasn’t aware that they would throw my stuff away without checking with me first. I have been very upset since finding this out because it was things that were very sentimental for me. I would like someone from corporate to get in touch with me about this.

Vehicle was damaged in many places.
After 1.5 hours on the road, vehicle would not start after stopping. Also found that passenger front tire was very low. After 5 hours and 16 minutes, battery was replaced (technician said battery was 5 years old) and tire replaced (technician said valve stem was leaking). Had to go to three locations to resolve these two issues. Also, reported USB ports were not working and none of the technicians were able to resolve these USB ports (essential for long distance travel for charging phones and navigation).
This store knew we were traveling a long distance but seemed to give us a worn out truck with over 80,000 miles and maintenance not maintained.

Bathroom had same trash in the can from a little over a month ago. Saw my same trash I tossed. No trash can in building or car port, restroom smelled just used. It was great before the hailstorm. We had access to our unit and could drive in regardless of the weather. I can say some of the staff were elusive from time to time. Ms. Shepard, who handled the hail damage, was insightful. However, overall, we weren't satisfied with the unit we had to choose from. Just getting in the front door, the card swiper was far away, and then after checking in that way, we still had to swipe another machine. And after we moved our belongings, the drop ceiling was removed without any regard for our unit. We have made room in our attic. And found enough room to store what we had in there. However, it's not climate-controlled, and it will become very cold and very hot. That's the one thing we liked about our old unit. We also noticed that the air was not adequately controlled after the hailstorm. It was warmer in the heated days. If I did recommend your site, I would recommend, if the right side units with the the garage doors were available and the cooling fixed in the heated weather.

Sarah, the manager also stood there and watched the whole interaction and not one time did she step in. Also, they threw all of my stuff out with 0 communication to come and get it. There’s a lot to this story but long story short, just do NOT bring your stuff to this unit.

This facility is awesome. The staff is so helpful especially Sarah and James, and another woman I dont know her name. They treat you like family every time you go in there.It is very clean, and easy to access. This is by far, the best storage facility in town. Where else do you get the first month free, not like others where it is the second month. They also give you a free lock for your building. No administration fees either. They will help you with every situation that comes up.

I went to the facility because of damage from a hailstorm. They had tables and chairs set up in the loading area. There was a person that took me to my unit. He took pictures and explained the process to me. Other employees came to help. they repacked some items that were in wet boxes. I was able to use a cargo van to take some items to my house. the employees loaded the van, loaded the items i left in storage into a U-Box and discarded all of the trash. I was amazed at how organized and helpful everyone was. I will recommend U-Haul to my friends. Thank you for your help in this time of need.

It took them a week to notify me if the damage to my unit. Once able to get in was able to save 10% of the items I had in the unit.
When I signed up over 5 years ago thought I had full coverage when I get there tell me I have $1,000 coverage which didn't cover my husband's medical equipment in there.
I had a inch of standing water in my unit after a week.
A year ago after a rain storm went in and didn't have any damage they told me then they were putting on a new roof. There idea if fixing it was a plastic sheet over it. The whole ceiling came in on my unit.
I went to UHaul as it was climate controlled and thought my items in storage was safe.
The only things safe was in totes. I lost my Christmas tree I just bought at $350.00. Antiques, generation of family photos and items. A painting my dad did who now is dead.
I could go on and on. When they opened the door I started crying and almost went to the floor.
Heard one woman screaming hysterically when they opened her unit. One gentleman had items from the 1800's that his family brought over from Ireland when they informed him he did not have insurance and he swore he had insurance on his unit.
The adjusters were the only ones who told me they were so sorry the rest of the staff acted as they were put out and most were rude when I talked to them which was pitiful.
I have nothing nice to say good about UHaul in Owensboro, I was let down by the quality of how they fixed the unit after the last storm.

Everything was great until the storm. The handling of the claim has been ridiculous. I lost 5 boxes of stuff and had 2 pieces of furniture ruined. I told the people in charge I would be cleaning out my pod on Friday 3/21 and now I am being told I cannot access my things because they have been shipped off. I don't even know where my damaged furniture is. No one knows anything and cannot answer questions.

The bathroom in the entrance through the garage doors was always deplorable. But the rest of the facilities are nice and worth the money.
Now that the recent damage, which occurred on March 14, has occurred, the facility has shown that it wasn't quite up to par. When purchased, the roof was not replaced, and K Mart had not replaced it for a long time. I hope some hindsight will make keeping up with the building's maintenance a stronger concern.

I have used U-Haul many times in the past 30 plus years, NEVER have I seen such excellent caring service as has always been given to myself when I needed them. This past week I received notice that the massive hail storm in Owensboro damaged the U-Haul storage building it was a scary unknown feeling walking in to examine the contents of my storage unit. But, each person greeted me with understanding, remorse for what had happen we wept together then took a deep breathe and went trough the process. As I went through my treasures I thought how lucky I was because not all of my items were destroyed like the families of the floods and fires. I’m thankful for U-HAUL and the living caring people that embraced myself as we search through a tragic event as friends helping each other. Thank you Sarah for always being there to guide me through all life’s events when I have had to use U-Haul. The best part you have selected and trained your staff of like minded people to care and love all of us through the process of needs from U-Haul. Always a thankful process.

Saturday January 11th I took the truck back about 4ish the young man working at the time took him 5-10 minutes to respond to me It was out in the truck messing with stuff took him 10 minutes to come in then he was in the side room when I came back in about 10 minutes to respond to me that's the only issue all the other employees responded to their customers in a swiftly manner unless they were with another customer and yes I choose you hard as my moving facility thank you for your business and your professionalism and then you have those few who don't but that's okay we all have them in the business May God bless you keep you safe in Jesus will be there when you ask him God bless

Every single employee here has been so helpful to me in the 4 years I’ve had my units. If I needed them any longer they would 100 percent always have my business. They are so kind and caring and always helpful when asking questions. This place feels safe and secure and the ease of access is amazing. There were no issues with bugs or critters and my units even after 4 years of not seeing them in person were so clean and spotless. No dust, no trash, no dead bugs etc. you can tell they really maintain the property well and value your belongings.

The only complaint I have is the unloading and loading out of the weather was not told to me until the last week I had the storage unit and when I tried to use it I couldn’t get into it. There weren’t any carts the several times I went in the other doors and wasn’t aware where they were kept until 2 months after having a storage unit.

It was during a severe thunderstorm and they were awesome. Some how the unit we was supposed to get wasn't registered with the reservation so we had to take 2 small storage units. But everyone was very nice and figured it out. Then our pin number didn't work at first. But all in all, we succeeded unloading the truck and returned it.

I really appreciate how clean the entire storage area was and that I felt safe leaving my valuables in one of your units while also having 24 hour access without being harassed by any one sketchy at night. Not once did I have anxiety thinking my valuables would be stolen in the unit. I loved having the insurance just in case but it wasn’t necessary. Your staff was extremely helpful and kind. I loved having the controlled environment as some of my items would have been ruined otherwise. 10/10 highly recommend!!!

People living inside the facility. Dead Roaches in hallways, I found 1 live roach in my unit. I had to inspect everything throughly before taking it back home. Thankfully I didn’t bring any home. I paid for insurance on the unit but it doesn’t cover pests. I think if people weren’t using units as living spaces the roach probably wouldn’t be an issue.

The guy at the front counter is rude. I called crying yesterday because stuff was stolen out of my unit not once did I cuss him or yell at him but he kept accusing me of it. I was never notified that the latch on my storage was broken and replaced or I would’ve went and checked it out. I did file a police

When I went to pick up a uhual back in September hat should’ve been my sign not to leave my stuff here but I did and I regret it. I would like someone from corporate to call me.

When I called asked about 5 x 5 storage units, rhey said, oh yeah no problem we have lots, i went The next week to reserve a 5 x 5 storage unit 3 weeks before I need to rent it to make sure I can have one.
When I went into rent One, they said they did not have any for rent. I said wait a minute, I explained that I called and then I went in and the guy made a reservation for one so I need that one. The manager said well the problem with that is our computers will show everything for rent, that they don’t say what is actually for rent. Even if I made one reservation online it would still say we have them. When I explained who reserved it for me, The manager and the young lady said oh yeah we know who you’re talking about he does that all the time. I said it sounds like you need more training. So the manager said we do not have a 5 x 5 but we have a 5 x 10 but it’s $25 more a month. I am retired now so I be careful with my money. But she said rent a 5 x 10 because there’s no first months payment and during that time we have a couple auctions on the 5 x 5 so will get you one. So I did but I thought the service was not good whatsoever, they knew who was on the phone and told me that and who reserved it yet ever he’s not getting re-trained, he just continually does it.
I have rented trucks and vans from U-Haul any where from Fairbanks Alaska down to Casa Grande, Always had first class service and all the facilities have been great and the trucks are great. Just disappointed here.

Rent units on line that they dont have staff at facility think it's funny that you are stuck with a truck full of stuff and paid movers standing around getting paid for nothing. Then they rent you another unit that is in use by someone else. And there laughing about it while you have wasted all the time and then have to go somewhere else.
Oh and the staff only say you had a reservation not a guarentee
You didnt pay for it the fact that the 1st month was free means nothing

You all rented a shed to me on line that you did not have. Then all she could come up with was that it was a reservation not a guarantee. Then I asked for a 10 x10 and the rude woman finally gave me one and when we pulled around there it was in use by someone else. When we were leaving the 2 women at the desk seemed to find the whole thing very funny. While I am trying to get a shed and people I was paying to move my stuff were just standing around. I would never recommend those people to anyone that i liked.

Could be a little clear about entering code twice to get into facility and that you must enter code again when you leave.
Also very short on flat bed carts. Both times we have been there it was hard to get a cart.
Very clean and I would recommend it to anyone.

Even though they were just opening and remodeling an old "box store" when we found them, they gave attention to security and customer service from the beginning.
