I was supposed to be able to use the app to pick up my truck. None of that worked so I had to wait on line. I had ordered accessories (pads, etc) but the clerk said there was nothing about them on my order so I rented another set, then someone called later wanting to know why I hadn't picked things up. And I have received no refund for that order. Overall the process was confusing, time-consuming and irritating and I would not use UHaul again.KENNETHS F.

When I picked up the truck I was told it would have 1/8 tank of gas. The gauge appeared roughly at the 1/8 line (slightly below but I am not the type to go back inside and demand a new truck) but the second I pulled out of the parking lot, it rested on empty and the gas light came on. Since I was already having to get gas before I could make my trip, I didn't turn around to ask for a new truck especially given the original wait time. Why not provide customers a full tank of gas and ask them to return it full instead of trying to make a few bucks off forcing them to put more gas in then you gave them?ERIKM A.

I have a dispute regarding the "gas charge" that was added to my final bill. I filled the tank back up to the amount that was in the tank when I picked up the van. I have a photo of the gas gauge taken at 9:14am before started the van and drove away from the U-Haul on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.Rex B.

The employees were not helpful, rude, impolite. She interrupted her service with me and entertained another customer not in line. I was charged for $25.00 for "CDW coverage" without explanation. With 8 miles used of the van I remembered she said $1.50/mile but she charged me $1.79 and gasoline 5gal for 8 miles.-$22.50?KENNETH O.
It would be useful if you would include a scraper in the winter. I had a hard time cleaning windshield after 6 in snowstorm. Maybe you could make it an item that people have to return so that some drivers don't keep the scraper!LISAM F.
This experience was stellar! The moving company recommended for loading was extremely efficient and maximized our space in the U-Box. Our U-box arrived to our destination early (which we loved) and the drop off and pick up of the box was seamless. Cannot recommend enough.Roxanne Z.

Most of our goods arrived safely, but there was some icy/water damage for some personally meaningful items at the front of the container. I was disappointed to see this given how much pride Uhaul seems to take in the containers working well. Not sure if this is a winter specific problem or if water issues are somewhat common.Rebecca S.

I was wrongly charged for a late return and lost keys. Both of which did not happen. I called and got the charges reversed but had I not looked at the charge I would be out $160 dollars. This place should be looked into. I dropped my van off 3-4hrs early and returned the keys properly.Cory C.

Customer service was horrible. I arrived to see a clerk at the computer and a man wearing a U-Haul cap behind the counter with her. She never acknowledged my presence, not even to look up and greet me, let me know she would be with me momentarily- nothing. I assumed that both were U-Haul employees, so when I asked if there was someone there that could help me, since I was in a hurry to get the move done, she snapped that the person behind the counter was first. I said â€but he's an employee,â€ and they both replied that he was not. Confusing since the man was BEHIND the counter wearing a U-Haul cap. The clerk treated me like I was a nuisance, and even questions I had about the bill were answered disrespectfully. This was an unpleasant interaction and a crappy way to start the process. The alarms constantly going off is insane and extremely unpleasant. I’ve been in and out of the facility on various occasions and this is an ongoing problem, not a one time thing. Besides being extremely unpleasant, there is no point in having alarms if the entire staff has been trained to ignore them. (Which is exactly what they told me to do) I also think you need some sort of trash removal service. The ability to navigate to the actual location online... to cancel service or to contact the facility is an utter embarrassment. The Uhaul site and automated system is not geared to the self storage customer. Its a tangled web that is not service by the call centers. There is insufficient staff to handle phone calls. Uhaul storage should allow customers to access their belongings 24/7. Charging a fee for unfolded blankets is condescending & patronizing. Charging close to five dollars a gallon for gas is outrageous. Especially tacking on the gas service free. The element of customer obsession is lost here. One of the most high stress points in moving is finally dropping off all equipment.. during this phase, uhaul lacked in the smoothness of “drop off”. The line was extremely slow moving. One of the girls behind the counter was extremely rude and off-putting -- making me feel as though she was doing me a huge favor by helping me. The unit we reserved online was not available on our scheduled move-in day. The staff member/cashier was rude when we asked what happened. Then she fought with another staff member about showing us available units. The other staff member was nice and helpful but didn’t have the information we’d given the first staff member, resulting in wasted time showing us the wrong size units. She eventually found one that could work, but didn’t take the U-Haul lock off, so we had to go back down to the desk for help. Honestly, this could have been a great experience. I loved that it was possible to move in out-of-hours, but I was shocked to discover that my unit was "upstairs". Although there was an elevator to the appropriate floor, there was no indication that I would then have to lift all my furniture up a flight of stairs to my unit. I would not have made this booking had I known, and it was not made clear at all during the booking process. The process of renting the truck and using the moving helpers was really difficult. The movers were poorly booked by U-haul and on the loading in to storage side were booked for the wrong date. The Truck was delivered to me with an empty tank and the brakes on the truck were problematic. The staff at the counter were really nasty and I really do not want to ever go back to your office every again now that I have my belongings in storage. Liked that there were cubes replicating the actual sizes of the spaces making it simple to choose and make a final decision. Only need I think might help, after getting the paperwork done, it would be helpful to be taken to the space as a first run-as its a huge facility and I don't like having to follow maps, even the most simple.a skill that I lack. I came on Saturday morning to sign the contract on a space I reserved online. Thus needed to go inside the store to do so. The system to get in the store and the navigation for shopping vs. waiting in line for spaces vs truck rental were disorganized. I waited in line for over a hour. Then after requesting assistance to move to a larger unit they were completely rude and honestly the worst customer service experience. However, the storage unit is the cheapest around so I guess that comes with cheap customer service too. Very disappointed.
