I was very frustrated that taking up a lot of space in the truck was a dolly and furniture pads. I didn't need or ask for them (I actually denied them as well as what seemed like 20 other items when renting the truck) but couldn't move them out of the way because I would have been charged for them.SHAWN S.

The man who checked me in was borderline rude. I also asked him to show me how to unhook the trailer once I had to drop it off, because I knew that the location would not be open. The man who checked me in did not show me how to unhook the trailer. When we dropped off the trailer, it took about 30 minutes to get it unhooked. We repeatedly pulled on the bars, but to no avail. I called the roadside assistance, but never got through, so we were stuck there for a while.DIANE S.
The truck was clean and drove well. The waterproofing was unfavorable. It was raining during our drive and everything in the compartment above the truck got completely wet. We had to turn on the heat in the house to dry everything out over a couple of days and fans blowing on it.JOHN B.

The only issue is and continues to be when I rent are the windows. Both inside and outside widows are very dirty. I end up having to clean them to see out. EVERY Rental. Take 5 minutes to clean the windows.PHILIP M.
Mike was very through and attentive. We were on a crunch time schedule and Mike stayed with my family and I to help make the move of my deceased son's belongings as smoothly and safely as possible. Everything was moved in within 20-25 minutes with the help of out-of-town family. I really appreciate Mike for all he did for me during this most difficult time of my life of losing my only child, my son, Sean whom passed away suddenly. Signed up for storage rental online. Was given a code to enter the area, but when we arrived onsite, was immediately told they don't use codes and that we'd have to get an access card. Actually having what I needed/reserved. Didn't have what I needed when I arrived to the store, uhaul employee kept taking his time and then continued to engage/assist with customers that were after me in line while I was at the counter. Took almost an hour to get the truck I had already reserved. Then, once he pulled it around and said we could go, we left. We arrived at the place we were loading, and the employee had forgotten to give us our blankets, dolly, etc. I ended up hurting my back due to not having the dolly and having to lift major items. Could have been avoided. Not happy. Last time using uhaul, will be finding other local agencies with rentals next time, and referring people to do the same.Jordan R.

The snow was was piled in front of the unit, making access difficult. The smooth floor of the unit was then quite slippery. On 2 trips to the facility, the driveway was blocked with trucks. When moving out of the storage we asked if we could bring in a container and movers. We were told we could. We paid to have a container brought in and we paid in advance for movers. On the day of the move the manager recinded the approval and we lost about $300.00. We had to move out of the storage in our cars which took 2 days. Improve instructions on exactly where to drop off equipment after hours. I didn't see any signage that indicated "exactly" where to park the truck during after hours returns. And the other thing I would do would be to Improve the key retrieval box. The mechanism at this location was a manual device where we have to put the correct code in the device to be able to retrieve the key. The problem that I encountered was that the dial was a bit difficult to turn and it felt at times that the resistance would be too great to even be able to change the dial all the way to the correct number. Technology is far enough advanced at this point that I feel a digital retrieval system would be a better and faster option. I was very pleased with the overall process. It worked and was clean but the trailer likely needs to be phased out. The door was VERY difficult to open (scraped knuckles a couple of times getting the hook to release) and there was a fair bit of cosmetic damage (age related). I was given a truck with no fuel. Then I was asked if I could put fuel in the truck and that I would be given a 28$ credit ( I only received a 22$ credit.) So I leave the lot and drive about a quarter of a mile and truck runs out of fuel. I lost about one hour of my time waiting for fuel. Truck was stranded in the middle of the road, this was very unsafe. Worst experience ever!!Jorge P.

i made reservation of 2 units of 10*15 a week ago before august 23, then my husband called 800 to add 1 more unit of 10*10 on top of confirmed preior reservation. however on august 23 4:30pm when i called Plainfield office to triple confirmed the reservation i was told they LOST one 10*15! And it was so close to five clock there is no way to reach out other available facility. on our moving day, it ended up multi small units to make up the size we need and one is not climate controled. i am worried the extra hours we work on the loading/unloading and the safety of my household stored.Jojo A. | First Impressions
