My boxes were picked up earlier than the pick up window so all my items were not in them and I had no locks on the boxes. My items got damp inside. I scheduled a time to get some things out of the boxes and when I arrived was informed they didn't know about it so I had to wait for my boxes to be â€œfoundâ€. The local franchisee was great to work with. The call center did not share with the management at the location where my UBox was stored the information about when I needed to pick up my box. I arrived and learned that the location here in Wilmington had not known or been told I was needing my UBox. Coupled with the fact that my box had been moved from one location ten miles away to a separate facility and UHAUL did not bother to tell me! This was not good.Robin C.

When first made a reservation 4 weeks before our pickup date we never got a reservation, wasn't asked for credit card etc. Was told by general manager of this location no credit card needed. When I called to confirm our reservation we where not in the system at all. We where transfers to another person that made finally a reservation with card and text messages. Was quoted $94 one way plus taxes and fees which should have been around $120 or so total. W when we picked up the truck 26 footer I was told it was $162 . There is no parking at this location for a daily rental. However, the staff was good for pick up. I never received an e-mail following check in with final charges. In addition, U-Haul changed the location of my pick-up, adding 20 miles to my trip. I passed two locations nearest my move area that both had the 26' moving truck available on their lot when I passed by.Thomas C.

Maybe I would recommend it. We had rain water get into the unit, which I reported. They said they would check it out. It appeared to come from under the wall of a neighboring unit. Later when we over a month later when we came to get our things again there was standing water. There was evidence that water had been there for a while. Black mold was evident up more than 2 two inches up any wooden pieces. Granted it was isolated to the back five 5 feet of the unit. We reported it and were told that we have take pictures and file a damage claim. Which do plan on filing. I thought that one of them would have come and looked at the water to see for themselves how it got in or where it came from in the first place.jay w. | Overall Experience

The man I dealt with at this location was the biggest jerk and the rudest and most condescending person I have ever met in my entire life. I am in customer service myself. I am a COO for a large cooperation and know how to speak to people with dignity and respect. This A-hole needs to be fired ASAP. I will be personally putting in a formal complaint. It was borderline abusive. And my boyfriend was with me so he can verify my statement. Absolutely horrific .Glynna B.

I will never recommend ubox. I will also never use this service or company again. I used ubox last time I moved and things went great. This time it did not. Containers came a week late, totally inconvenient moving 1,000 miles away with three animals and kids. The only thing they refunded was my delivery fee. Uhaul didn't even finish the job so as far as I'm concerned they should refund at least half. I will be contacting the attorney general and BBB.Jennifer S.

The manager on location was great and helpful in rectifying what went wrong, which was that the ubox was never delivered. (I called several times during and eventually after my delivery window, and each time was assured that the box was "on the way", until hours passed and eventually someone on the phone admitted that the driver delivering the uboxes had never set out that morning. So why was I told that the truck was "on the way"? I felt lied to.) The lack of delivery caused a lot of stress and concern because I was working on a tight timeline. The manager on location found a workable solution and I was glad to be refunded the delivery fee and only charged for self delivery.Nicole K.

Truck was in very poor mechanical condition. Should be taken out of service and provided with shocks, brakes, ball joints on front, and other deferred maintenance. Was very hazardous driving the vehicle yet they sent it out with no concern or warning. This is the worst U- haul facility I have ever rented from. The truck was filthy in addition to being mechanically unsound. I would not go back to this business if they offered a vehicle to me for free.Rudy A.

Returned truck with required 1/4 tank of fuel. Received a charge for fuel and was told truck was returned on empty. Was later refunded after a photo of the ending mileage and fuel gauge was provided. Thank goodness I took a photo. Communication from the manager could have been better.Francis K.

Could not find anyone when I arrived. After waiting a while to find out where they wanted the trailer left noone was around. I left the trailer where I thought it should go. When I was finally ready to leave someone finally asked if I needed something. I asked them about getting it checked in and they said I would receive a text but never did. Equipment I had reserved, appliance dolly, was not available when I picked up my truck. This was an important piece of equipment that was reserved, that was not available. Truck had driving issues. I had it reserved for 2 days, to do multiple trips. After making first delivery, truck started having issues, and â€˜check engine' light started flashing. Because of time of day, I could not return it for a replacement. Had to use friends trucks to finish rest of move, on time. Brought truck back the next day, still 18 hours early, and told the guy at the rental place, and he just said to park it, and he will check it out, and have a nice weekend.Frank B.

Had several issues. The sign in the place said whatever you need, we will have. Ended up renting a 20' truck because they did not have a 15' truck at that location. My return was very confusing. I returned after hours, and the instructions were very odd. First of all, the U-haul app could not determine my location. I was told to scan the bar code for my location, but did not know that it meant to scan my paperwork, not a bar code on the location itself. Improve the U-Haul app with regards to "pickup location" displayed. I initiated Pickup procedure within app which advanced to screen with street address and link to map - used navigation to reach street address pictured only to discover I was in the wrong location. Worst of all, was then told by proprietor that this happens "all the time". I can appreciate that you can't have every piece of equipment or vehicle size available at every U-Haul location, but there's NO reason your app should provide the wrong address for equipment pickup.Kevin W.

I reported when I returned the truck that it made a horrible screeching noise coming from the back of the motor under the dash. It screeched the entire 7 hours. Then the day we were to return the truck it would not go into reverse so it took about 20 minutes to get it to go into reverse and we finally got the truck returned. At that point told them about the screeching noise and the reverse issue. I was dumbfounded at the cost and I have used U-Haul several times for this exact same trip. It was 7 hours and it cost me around $700 hundred dollars. Which took every penny that I had. I will never use U-Haul again after this experience. I feel like I was totally ripped off. And then they had the nerve to charge me for $13 on gas.Kimberly R.

I took the storage unit because it was a U-Haul facility, and it offered the first month free.
