The truck was very old and the tire sensor light was on and they just said it's been that way. The seat was impossible to move, I'm 5'3" and it was very uncomfortable sitting up on the edge to reach the pedals. I requested a dolly but one was not in the truck and I got charged $120 (they have refunded that). I've rented from here before and always was a good experience, this time was below what I've had in the past. The people were nice, a little rushed, but it was a Saturday and it was busy.

The seats in the van I rented smelled like sweat. Also, when I came to pick up the van, it was parked very tightly to another van, to the point where I had to squeeze though the driver side door to get inside. I did my reservation online and ordered a mattress bag to go along with my order. After the clerk gave me the van keys at the front desk, he said thank you and sent me on my way without mentioning or giving me my mattress bag. I had to inform him that that was apart of my order as well.

I had a U-Haul self-pickup reservation scheduled for 9:00 AM through the app. When I arrived at the pickup location, the app began glitching and would not allow me to check in or access the truck. After contacting customer service, I was informed that I had to wait until 11:00 AM for the location to open because the size of the truck I reserved was not eligible for mobile pickup. I do not understand why U-Haul allowed me to schedule a self-pickup for 9:00 AM when the company already knew that this particular truck could not be picked up at that location at that time. I waited at the location for two hours until it opened. Once I was finally given the access code for the lockbox, the keys inside were for the wrong vehicle. I then spent nearly another hour on the phone with U-Haul customer service and the third-party location owner trying to locate the correct keys. Unfortunately, the keys could not be found, and I was ultimately sent to a different location to pick up the same truck. When I arrived at the second location, I was finally able to get the truck I had paid for, but they were out of the dolly that I had also paid for. The delays caused a major chain reaction. I had hired movers from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to help load the truck. Because I was unable to get the truck for the majority of that time, the movers essentially had to wait around for three hours and eventually left. I was then left to load the entire truck by myself, despite having already paid for professional help. Overall, my experience with U-Haul was extremely frustrating and far from the fast, convenient, and seamless experience I expected. What should have been a straightforward truck pickup turned into hours of waiting, multiple customer service calls, traveling between locations, missing equipment, and additional stress and expense. U-Haul needs to do a much better job of ensuring that reservations accurately reflect what is actually available and that customers are not left dealing with the consequences of issues that were outside of their control.

Service was efficient and professional. However it was not safe giving us a truck with a cracked sideview mirror and stuff steering when we had hundreds of miles to drive through mountains. Had the office provided a vehicle in better shape, my rating would be higher. Pricing was fair as well, but again a notice ahead of time regarding the need to purchase my own ratchet straps would have been appreciated.

Get a contract with big lots rent a portion of their lot the business is closed. Its an inconvenience parking at the mall and walking. Also the gas was incorrect on my contract I showed the attendant before I left and I was still charged a extra 15 dollars SMDH. Of course the c attendant was gone when I return 😒

I really appreciate all the effort the staff put into trying to help all of the customers, but the location was severely understaffed throughout the entirety of the day. Customers were waiting in line for almost an hour. I had to wait in the line twice, so I was late returning the truck I had rented. Nevertheless the staff remained respectful and helpful the whole day. Kudos to them!

1. Attendant was fairly new and struggled some with the computer checkout process. Then o was rushed and no one mentioned the text that o got standing at the counter with the link to take photos of the truck and gas etc prior to departing the lot. 2. The dolly I was given did NOT have a strap in it so was essentially useless for carrying large items etc. 3. Truck had a maintenance warning light activated the whole time that said.”Service the Tire Pressure Monitoring System” and showed a tire low symbol, but the tires were all fine.

On 8/25/25, I met a female staff about reserving a 10x15 unit which was secure with my debit card with the first month free. On the Friday after the 8/25/25 while purchasing covers, another female stated that the unit was not secured but did another transaction for the same unit. I kept both documents. On 8/30/25 10x15 storage and and unit was shown to me which was the first month free moving forward. On the Friday of the same week while purchasing covers, the second staff stated that unit was not reserved and she did another transaction. On 8/30/25, I met a gentleman who told me that there were no reservation, but only the 10x20 was available. I became frustrated about the entire process and disappointed in the service which was a poor communications

I called customer service to cancel a storage unit reservation after not being able to get in contact with anyone at this location over the course of three days. To be clear, the customer service agent I spoke to couldn’t even get them to answer the phone. That resulted in them sending me an email stating that my monthly unit payment was overdue and that I would be charged a late fee. An overdue bill and a late fee for unit that had been canceled roughly 2 weeks prior. This is the result of inability to communicate and poor communication internally. I would not recommend this location to a friend.

There's an additional fee for 24hr access. The place is constantly overrun with vehicles blocking access to units. I have to call and give 24hr notice to get into my unit that I was charged $285/mo for. The staff was generally helpful, more phone calls went to the national call center than the actual employees at the location. The barrage of people seeking under the table employment on the premises, is unsafe. They run up to vehicles and stand in the driving lanes.

The facility is very tight to maneuver a large vehicle. Vehicles line the walls and the perimeter of the building. Great helpful staff. It's nice to see third party ppl wanting to help unload your truck, but very uninviting when they chase your vehicle or are standing in the middle of the street as you try to drive.

The reason for the above average reading, is due to how the Woodbridge Virginia staff handled my accounts and assisted me with my storage unit. They were very helpful and professional, the whole way as far as Baltimore, where I picked up my moving truck, unprofessional by all means, and the only reason why I closed my account and moved my items to a new storage was because it was cheaper, by at least $100 even, maybe considering lowering the prices on your storage units and you may have more storage users.

Michael was helpful and showed me the storage unit during early check in which was prior to the start date of my storage reservation. He also walked me to the unit that was close and easy to get to, including how the lock worked. Erica was very professional and cheerful when she checked me during the day of move in and provided helpful details about the storage rental process.

Listen the staff was very friendly, but it took 45 minutes for this guy to set me up with a unit. I told him i had a free reservation he didn't listen and had to start over. Finally we went out to look for the unit and I knew where the unit was before him but again he didn't listen. Then when i got my unit open there were spider and cobwebs EVERYWHERE..i literally had to wipe it all away with my own broom. Oh not to mention when i got the first unit, and its now dark by the way, I've gotten a quarter of my stuff in the unit already and he comes back out to tell me he gave me the wrong unit.. the experience was trash and made my day last longer than i needed which wasn't cool because I had missed something important due to the nonsense i dealt with at Uhaul. What should have been a 30 min experience turned into almost 2 hours and mind you, i had a 10 foot truck of stuff going into a 5' 10' 5' and again I've been in the moving industry so it didnt take more than 15 or 20 minutes to unload my truck and stack it in the unit.

First, we would not have chosen this location, but our options were limited due to the size of truck we were returning (26’). We called on Friday 8/13 to speak with an agent about securing a storage unit, but she stated she did not know if there was availability and did not know how to check if there was availability. She took my name and phone number and said he manager would call back with info. We never got the follow up communication. So I called back Saturday 8/14 to inquire again, and Brandon was helpful and confirmed a 10’x10’ unit for us to start Sunday 8/15. We arrived Sunday 8/15 and waited a while to be helped. A young lady with long curly hair and freckles led me up to help me, and took a 5 minute phone call in the middle of helping me. She didn’t seem to have a thorough understanding of the system and how to get me into my unit quickly. Finally she gave us an access card and the unit number. When we drove around to the unit, it was in use but closed to the owner for nonpayment. So we go back inside to get another unit. A young, thin gentlemen with braces helped assign us to another unit, which was going to be larger and more expensive since there were no other 10’x10’ available. I hen we went over to that unit, it was also in use and closed to the owner for nonpayment. He came around to the unit to meet us and completely shared our frustrations because there were no other available units of any size. He stated his frustration with the assistant manager who is responsible for not letting their system show availability for these types of units. (Sorry for the descriptions, no one on site wore a name tag). We quickly called a Public Storage down the street where a fast, friendly, professional associate got us a unit immediately. Thanks to their assistance, we were able to secure our belongings same day with ZERO HASSLE! The experiences between the two companies was night and day. I am also aware that the manager of this location passed away recently, which we were sorry to hear. I have no doubt the team we encountered was working hard to do the beat they could, given the circumstances. As a customer, i just want to relay that they need more support and assistance right now. Your corporate leaders would not be happy with how this location is currently operating.
