I ordered blankets and a furniture dolly. Wasn't in the truck. I called and was told "it looks like they forgot". I was like "no shit" now I don't have a furniture dolly or blankets but was charged for them. Nobody cares because the "just forgot" but I had to move all damn day without a furniture dolly. You people suck. The before hours check in did not work. Asked me for my passport. WTF!!! Who takes their fucking passport to U-Haul. I will never rent U-Haul againJohn R.

UHaul changed my pick up location 3x. I have never been treated so badly by a company. Telephone waits were over one hour. My original request for pickup and drop off (at a different location) was initially approved, then changed. The staff at Poway went above and beyond to get my containers to me after the website and central location failed with incorrect information. My container had broken boxes (used Uhaul-recommended movers in Raleigh, NC) and the contents were overcome with mold and had to be thrown out. One dresser had some knobs broken off. Still can't find my grandmother's sterling silver which was in one of the broken boxes, AND one Ubox had a lock that was not mine - with NO explanation. I will never use U-boxes again! I was told that my U-boxes would be delivered to the Poway location and that they boxes would be moved inside their "gates" and when I called to follow up on another issue, I find that they are at another address and that the U-boxes would have to be picked up from there. This is a nightmare! No clear communication. Can't get on the website. Transferred on the phone multiple times. A MESS! When I made the reservations I Was reassured bueno staff member that the unit with the best location would be mine on Saturday when I came to move in. However, a different staff member told me that unit was already reserved. I was very disappointed. It was clean and well maintained. The only concern I had and it is a small one is that the area my unit was in felt much warmer than the first area you walked into in the storage complex. I chose the climate controlled storage as I was storing antique dolls and some photographs and VHS tapes. I don't think anything was affected but I have not yet unpacked it all. I rented two trucks. A 26' and a 10'. Both were adequate for the job of moving the household furniture and motorcycle we were moving. The trucks were easy to drive and the people good to work with. I'd use U-haul again in a heartbeat. The pick up process was a bit slow but the people very friendly. Rest room could be kept a bit cleaner.Joann B.

The call center not as good..... contract said I would get a call to confirm location for what I was requesting, but I never got a call, and when I called the wait time to talk to a service rep was going to be 50 minutes. I hung up and called again and the operator (after my complaining) got me thru immediately.Robert B.
The service I received at Poway was very professional and on point. We discussed my drop off location options and I said I would either drop it off at Calimesa or Yucapia, whichever would be open at the time I needed to drop it off. We left it undecided and unchecked. However, one of your Moreno Valley U-Haul Reservation Manager around 12:15 P.M. today stating I was supposed to drop the rental off in Moreno Valley or Banning. My phone rang three different times on Saturday stating my drop off was to be in Moreno Valley. I told one of your associates that if you wanted me to drop it off 60 miles away round trip I was going to have to charge U-Haul a $500 dollar hot shot fee for the inconvenience of my drop off point. I am still pissed off about your manger calling me today and telling me my options when we already had it worked out on Saturday. Let me know who it was by the recorded phone call today at 12:15. Get me and address, and I will ship out a package of chapstick so whoever the person is can kiss my butt!Jerry F.

Great Customer Service. Completely check vehicle prior to lease. Discovered Air Conditioning did not work 100 miles into a 750 mile drive at 105 degrees. I called for three days and nobody would answer my call so I finally drove to Poway to check on my storage unit. On my moving out day Everything appeared to be fine except when my daughter found mouse droppings on my plastic tubs and on the floor of the unit. How long did this mouse live there before someone put a mouse trap in the unit? The worse thing is that the dead mouse is in one of my boxes! I took a picture of it if you need proof. I called the health department on my experience with your storage unit. It was documented. Since you have so many units why aren’t the mouse traps or mouse poison checked on a regular basis? I have rented units for years and this has NEVER happened before. I have to throw out some items because I don’t know how long the mouse lived in my unit. The unit should be prorated for July and I should receive a refund for the days that I did not use it. I am just glad I moved out my things when I did. I made an online reservation for a 7x20x6 Vanbody, but when I arrived to the storage facility, the manager said that he could not find my reservation in the system. He showed me a much smaller 7x14 unit and said that was all he had or I could try searching for a self-storage facility in the area. I drove all the way from Maryland only to be told “good luck”. In the end, the manager was able to rent me a 7x26 storage unit only because a reservation was canceled at the last minute. I had the whole move and storage planned weeks in advance and am frustrated with the nonchalant response of the manager. Uhaul Poway really saved me that day. Keep in mind this was a Sunday when everything else was closed. There's an older white gentlemen there with glasses that rented me the storage. During this covid pandemic, I have not been able to be in the country during my move in and with a mixup with the container I am renting. Both times I have called the store, I have worked with Toby over the phone. He delivers awesome service and has helped me to resolve all my issues each time. I can't say good enough things about how awesome Toby is, and I really appreciate his willingness to listen to my problems, willingness to proactively solve my issues, and empathy.
