While the equipment is well maintained for the most part. Too many people don't know how to do their jobs, or spend time goofing off. I pulled up to the drop off point and waited while two employees were chatting with some guy in his car. While waiting a truck being returned passes the return area and then backs up in front of me and he got helped by your crew first. One thing that absolutely aggravates me, I have to return the vehicle to that location. I can't go to some other UHAUL and leave it.PETERG H.

The CS rep was aloof & never forthcoming w/ the necessary info to insure a timely transaction i.e. Informing the customer that a smart cell phone was required in order to rent a vehicle, that a visit to a separate location was needed to pickup a hand truck, that a confirmation email closing the transaction would be delayed by several days. Additionally, the typical wait time to speak w/ a CS rep on the phone was a min of 45 mins. Quite unreasonable. Overall, the perception is that UHaul is not customer friendly, a good start to rectify this would be to instruct CS to take responsibility for what the customer doesn't know.JAMES W.

I'm allergic to dogs, and the cargo van that I rent today, both seats were full of dog hair and shit in the passenger side... I personally think some of your staff needs to be retrain with the customer service in dispatching the equipments.... Not the spanish guys. The white gentleman, he had a nasty attitude and looks like he hates his job or dealing with clients.... After I left with the van i have to disinfect, and clean the seats, so I can stop sneezing... Everything went smoothly and without surprises. The van was new and clean. The only part that I felt slightly uncomfortable was the dropoff - we were told to leave the van just there, but felt like not a secure handoff. 2) Fuel levels were not clear and it was impossible to get a clear reading on fuel gauge for return and was off by a little and was charged convenIence fee, even after refueling prior to return. I perceived a major disconnect between the online instructions to the actual arriving on-site protocol. It was very disturbing and frustrating because I had spent a good minute online entering information and every time I would go back to access it, the information had to be re-entered. The customer service person on the phone was giving one set of instructions and the one at the location was proving another set. Even my vehicle assignment was changed. Include a way of guaranteeing reordered equipment and other policies from the onset. First, they did not have the hand truck I reserved which made moving a bitch. Then I was almost denied the truck that I reserved for 13 hours. They needed it back with 8 hrs:/. The only thing that made the experience bearable were the young women managing my account. Recognizing that they do not make policy, they managed an irate customer very well while being chastised by her manager on the telephone. All of this could have been avoided if there could be an option of. guaranteeing even if with advance payment. There are many moving pieces in play when moving and not having the equipment you thought you had leaves a bitter taste.LEMARIE L.

I made a reservation over a week in advance. Made plans around that. Once I get to the desk I am told I could only take it out for 6 hours, 1 of which is automatically deducted for whatever reason. So I really had 5 hours. To move an entire apartment in 5 hours is ludicrous. If I was told of this as I was making the reservation I wouldn't have gone with UHaul. It's a bait and switch since I needed to move obviously. Trash experience and I'd rather make more trips and rent a van or go with Penske. That's how bad the experience with your company was. The staff was great. Very nice and personable. The ownership/management however is the worst I have ever come across. This is the only location I have ever been to that makes you buy the wire to connect your car to the trailer. Any other location in the area the wire is included. There is no warning prior to your rental that you will need to buy a wire when you get there. It's ridiculous and the greedy management/ownership should stop nickel and diming their customers.Kenneth B.

I have rented a prior unit in the back building and my brother-in-law has one currently in the front building. I specifically asked for a front unit before I made my online reservation and I was told "yes" the the 4th floor 8x8x8 was in the front building. I asked the same question when I arrived the next day to sign the paperwork. I was again told "yes" but then I was shown the unit in the back building. Going over the hump between buildings causes items to fall off a card and makes moving much more difficult and really unacceptable. I declined that unit and was then given #6000 which I did not inspect. I regret that. That unit had absolutely no light. It is a second rate unit and makes usage much more difficult. I had a helper running a meter at $70 per hour so I gave up and just moved in. This is what I call third rate service. I have rented vans from you and storage units from you and I expect better. Lots of maskless employees! When I took my stuff out of storage there were STAINS on much of my stuff from a rusty pipe or tube thing resting on top of the mesh grid leaking down into the storage locker. Also, it is utterly ridiculous that you do not prorate for the month if a locker is emptied out early and that you make people be there in person to end the contract. The staff here are terrific. We were transferring from one unit to another on 9/26 and without even being asked, Carlos went off to find us a cart (there were none in the main area). He walked with us all the way to the kingsbridge side units multiple times, first to show us the available units, and later to make sure our card was working. The check in process to get the uhaul truck was quite long (40 mins). However, I was so happy with the move in process of my furniture. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had all the dollies we needed, assisted immediately when all the parking by the loading station were taken by passenger cars, and even assisted unloading the truck. It took two hours to move in to my storage unit, because of mistakes from the uHaul team on site. I received an access card that did not work, and had to go back to their office to get an access code. Then went upstairs to see the unit, and it was locked, so I had to go back a second time to request it unlocked. I rented out a storage unit a half an hour before the offices were closing. I rushed to return the van I had used from the same location. When I arrived at my unit with all my belongings is emptied from the truck, I found that the staff had not removed their lock. I called every number I could find and was left on hold. Finally we found someone that could help us, a worker closing out in the office. We explained the situation to her and she told us to come back tomorrow, knowing all our stuff was waiting outside the unit. An hour passes and we find someone else to help (Raymond from another location, very nice person), he calls the general manager and he sends the same woman who told us she couldn’t help, to open the lock. There needs to be more people working. I was the second person in line when the location opened. I completed the online pre-check in. I had ordered supplies over 1 month in advance. Not only were my supplies not available (I ordered 6 furniture pads, there were only 3), half of them were missing from the order (TV box and mattress cover). I also had to wait in line for about 45 minutes before I could be seen. Next, I was given no instruction, or map as to where my storage unit was located. When I came in with a full truck 90 min later, I found out that my movers were unloading the truck at the wrong doc! We had to then request a different (more expensive) storage unit so we didn't have to pack back up only to unpack again. I then needed a refund for the furniture pads that were not given to me. This took over 30 min! The ONLY good thing about this experience were the movers I hired through you. I understand the the staff here was strapped for help ( while I was there I learned that one staff member was late, and another just left work without telling anyone.) You all need to hire more reliable people, and train them better in communication skills.
