The young lady told me that I would not be charged the fueling fee of $30 and that I would only be charged $14 for the gas that I was just too close. However, I was charged $62 and I didn't thing that was fair or proper. I offered to take the truck to get the fuel gauge at its original point but was told that the fuel fee would not apply. Right from the beginning Uhaul dropped the ball. Upon calling from Massachusetts to get a delivery time was told boxes were listed as a pickup. Never set up as a pickup and nobody could explain why they were listed as being picked up. Two boxes were scheduled to be delivered on 9/15 and one on 9/21. The two boxes never arrived and the box due on 9/21 was delivered on 9/16 after 9pm. All our furniture were in the two boxes that were supposed to be delivered on 9/15 causing us to find a hotel for night. Customer service continually transferred me and nobody could explain why boxes arrived in N. Charleston on 9/12 yet did not get delivered until 9/17. Never again would we use Uhaul no recommend to anyone.Eugene F.

The computers were slow, the other cashier was able to move twice as fast when Checking out other customers. The first trailer they went to give me was leaking so they had to update the unit number. The second trailer was ok, but it looked to be held together with a sloppy temporary silicone repair. The guy that was in the office with me got a 5 x8 as well and I seen him on the road with the left rear light flickering. His trailer was in better condition but from what I could tell the lighting had grounding issues. U-Haul needs to step it up. I've used this location in the past but never seen the equipment as run down as it was this past time. I will say the lady at the register that checked me out was really nice and did not get frustrated with the electronic system. The pods arrived a day late which impacted the scheduling of the move and cost us a hotel reservation that had to be cancelled last minute. We were told the pods would be arriving the day they were supposed to as of 5 pm that evening however no one called to tell us they were delayed. It created a lot of issues and trying to get a hold of someone who could help was challenging. It was overall a terrible experience and I would not recommend to anyone that they use the U Boxes.Greg W.

We have used Ubox for a number of different moves in the country and had a great experience. HOWEVER, I will NEVER recommend Ubox to anyone moving in the Charleston area. The staff managing the Ubox rental in Charleston are the absolute worst. In fact, my parents had a Ubox delivered in Mount Pleasant, and the woman delivering the box finally arrived at 9pm (outside of the drop hours), did not give notice and placed the box in front of the gate in their driveway so they couldn't open the gate or access the cars in the garage for three days. Our experience was even WORSE. The same woman delivered our 3 Uboxes at 9:30 pm (way outside of the drop-off timeframe), and it was extremely loud, she backed up with the beeping noise the entire way down the street for each box. She was rude, and neighbors were coming outside to see what was happening, which was very embarrassing. To make things more traumatic, she was supposed to pick up our boxes on Saturday and arrived at TWO THIRTY AM!!! Of course, she woke us up immediately and the neighbor's lights started to turn on as well. Not only was the machinery loud, but she was also screaming to someone on her phone on speakerphone. Then she hit our box into the side of the house. I will NEVER use Ubox or Uhaul ever again for a move in Charleston and will continue to tell this story to those considering Ubox.Pierre P.

One of the tires needed to be replaced and I had to add air to it twice (once at the beginning and at the mid-point of my travels). The tire pressure warning light made me uncomfortable but the equipment still functioned. I also had to guess when putting air in as I could not find a tire pressure gage. We never went inside the location. But outside an employee, Ty, was very helpful and assisted us even though it was near closing. I can not emphasize enough how nice he was and the great customer service he provided. My one major comment is the location was extremely crowded with trucks. It was difficult to enter it. And it was a bit hectic since it was also a storage location for the upack containers. Forklift drivers were buzzing around all over with them. For that I knocked them down a peg. Would be good for things to be separated more. Granted I am not sure the location has the space.AMY P.
The customer service was poor. The first day I stood in line for over twenty minutes was not greeted but walked past by an associate who went on to greet the next customer who came in. When I was finally asked to come to the counter â€œto help whoever is nextâ€ before I could get out the type of truck I needed I was cut by the associate telling me they had no truck available unless I had a reservation. That announcement could have been made prior to me standing in line for twenty plus minutes. My fiancÃ© went back in after I told her of the horrible service and she was told trucks would be available the next day. We went back the next day, received slightly better service, I requested an applicants dolly which was left off the contract and the truck which resulted in us having to spend an hour shopping for one to finish our move. The time ran over into me having to be to work as I am a first responder and could not miss a day so I ended up paying for an extra day rental just to have the empty truck sit in my yard. Service was absolutely distasteful. I couldn't do the mobile pick-up like I set up. I go inside the store and no one is helping me as new people walk in they are assisted prior to me. Wasn't even greeted. Then I give all my information and left my car so I could get someone else to drive it back and these asswholes towed my car LONG before the close of business. It was difficult to maneuver through the stacked storage boxes with a huge truck. Very congested and we couldn't find the entrance bc it was blocked by two trucks. We walked around the location for about 20 minutes without seeing any personnel. Until I called the location and they were trying to give me verbal directions, when I was telling them everything is blocked off. There's no way to get this big truck + trailer through to get checked in. When we finally got everything situated, everyone was very kind and inviting. As someone who just traveled through 5 states with this uhaul, we were hoping it would be a seamless drop off process since we had such an amazing experience in our home state. This location did help me return my extra wrapping paper though. Without a receipt. For that, I am thankful. It was a very high stress/anxiety situation because of the congestion in this location's parking lot and there's no clear signs indicating where we need to pull into the location, which caused confusion.Abigail S.
