The truck that I had saved for me was parked behind many others so I couldn't get it. Thankfully I arrived right when uhaul opened so an employee got me a different truck. I was disappointed to find out though once I got about half way to my destination that the AC was spotty, the truck smelled like cigarettes BAD!!! and the driver side mirror wouldn't stay out so it was virtually useless. If I had more time I would call and demand for my money back.

This is not a criticism, but a suggestion … maybe have a straight walkway to the counter between 2 stacks of unopened boxes rather than walking all the way around one giant stack. The inside of the rental unit had several areas that were stained with an unknown substance. The areas were cleaned with bleach. When I discovered that I would be unable to use the tow dolly, the downtown King Street location was successful in obtaining me an auto transport unit.

My issue is with the hired help. They were 2 hours late and only did 45 minutes worth of work, but I was charged the full 2 hours labor time with no refunds. Would use the vehicles again but will never hired laborers thru uhaul again.

Two things:
1) Drop off was after hours and it went OK but the lot was literally jammed with vehicles which made navigating the trailer return fairly difficult and again and unnecessarily stressful...need to make that less daunting.
2) They charged $20 for afterhours drop off... why? I've rented many times in many places and there was never a charge for drop off after hours. Looking in the paperwork I can see there is a mention of the charge but again, the question is WHY do I have to pay $20 to park and unhitch the trailer myself?

The truck was filthy inside and out. The windshield and windows (inside and out) looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. Wasn’t vacuumed and garbage was left in truck from previous customers. The truck’s gas was also almost empty when I picked it up.

Raven was excellent. She stayed a little late to rent me a space and saved me easily 30 minutes in the process. I had turned in the uhaul autobody transport with Sebastian (who was quite helpful and courteous as well) and had seen how busy they were so Raven came in clutch as she was about to be off. At the end I turned in the 15’ truck to an African American young man who’s name started with an “A” and he was helpful as well — gave me time to fold up my 2 dozen blankets and avoid the fee. All in all an experience that was handled well on their end from the point of view of someone who had just flown to Detroit, had to pack up a uhaul in the snow, drove it all night down to SC, and then unload it to the storage unit in nonstop fashion. Truly appreciated them.

I NEVER give five stars to anyone. I moved to SC from ID. My first day in SC was made of nightmare material. The staff at this facility went above and beyond to help make this awful day salvageable.

The associates were helpful and friendly. I was disappointed that the unit was not climate controled. . It was free and we love UHaul and will always rent from you in the future.

The box was scheduled by your staff for delivery between 10:00-1:00. It was delivered at 4:30. Talking to someone took 3 calls and transfers to others who knew nothing. Sorry you were so busy.
