3 days after dropping off my rental and giving the keys to an employee I was contacted saying my truck wasn't returned. Once they figured out I did return the truck they ended up over charging me for 100 miles. Even though this location is the closest to my business I will never rent from this location again. DAWN MI picked up the truck before the facility was open. Had a very hard time getting access to the key. Once I got the truck it smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. I had no recourse to get a different vehicle. Once I returned it I was charged a $20.00 cleaning fee for the smell. Luckily I took a video before I left and mentioned the smell so the charge was reversed. Why was I giving that truck and why wasn’t the previous renter charged and truck deodorized before it was put back in the rental fleet. The staff was aloof and barely helpful. Overall a very poor experience

ALAN RI recently rented a truck from U-Haul at 1811 Rinehart Rd, Sanford, FL 32771, and this experience was an absolute nightmare. The blatant lack of transparency and customer respect at this location is shocking. 1. Unjust and Predatory Fuel Charges I drove the truck only 20 miles, and as instructed, I refueled it with 2 gallons of gas before returning it. Simple math confirms this is more than enough for the truck's stated 16 MPG average. Despite this, I was outrageously charged for additional fuel. This isn’t just an error—it’s outright theft from customers who follow your policies. 2. Attempt to Overcharge for a Second Rental Day Even though I returned the truck after just 5 hours, well within the same rental day, U-Haul attempted to charge me for a second day. This kind of dishonest practice is infuriating and leaves me questioning whether this location actively tries to scam its customers. 3. Unethical Business Practices These issues are not small mistakes—they are indicative of a larger, systemic problem at this location. Charging customers for fuel they clearly replaced and attempting to double-charge for the rental period is deceitful, unethical, and completely unacceptable. This is not how a reputable company should operate. To the Manager of This Location: You should be ashamed of how this store conducts business. Scamming customers through hidden charges and predatory practices is a disgraceful way to operate. I demand an immediate refund of the fuel charge and a guarantee that I will not be billed for a second day. To U-Haul Corporate: If this is how your franchises are allowed to operate, you need to reassess your values. Customers should not have to fight to avoid being cheated. I will be sharing this review widely and pursuing this matter until it is resolved. Do better, U-Haul. Stop ripping off your customers.
NADIA OPoor customer service from the women who work at the front desk. Went to drop off the truck and a woman said she would go check the truck and close me out. She never came back and we waited for more than 10 minutes.

JOSE GThe facility was fine overall, however, not without issues. Parking during weekends and logical placement of rental trucks is quite bad. The design of the lot is just awful. While surely an industry tactic, the incessant price hikes are out of control. Three things you can count on: death, taxes, and U-Haul price increase letters every few months. This ultimately drove me away. Enough is enough.

How ever there are a bunch of pick up locations that are obsolete on the U-Haul app. I was sent to this location after a mishap with picking up a truck using the U-HAUL App which cost me time and money. Uhaul needs to inventory all their pick-up locations that is not to a storage and ensure customers actually have a truck available on the time stated. This is the second time this has happened to me. Like I mentioned this Location excellent overall experience with U-HAUL itself is lacking.

VALERII PWhen selecting self-guided process for pickup it was not very convenient. The truck was not ready for a 9:00 am pick up time and the dolly was not loaded in the truck therefore I had to go inside. I was actually charged for a U-haul dolly but given the location dolly that was not very sturdy
Tyler IAbsolutely nothing. I walked in and the girls was so nice, friendly and very helpful.. I was able to rent the van that I needed within five minutes and then proceeded to bring it back about an hour later. The girl checked me out really fast and everything went very smoothly.

WILLIAM LThe truck I reserved was not available so I was given the option of being put in another truck with severe shaking or to get a bigger truck which there was no space to park the bigger truck in my neighborhood so I had to pay to park the truck elsewhere and also the bigger truck used more gas. I was the first customer In line at opening so although they had more of the same trucks I reserved they told me they were for the other customers! Customers that were behind me or customers that had not even arrived yet. I don’t understand what made them any different than me? Why couldn’t the later customers get offered the truck with mechanical issues or the bigger size! There was no compromise with the cashier! She was polite about it but for me it was the principal. Especially since I frequently rent from Uhaul. I don’t like nor appreciate the way I was treated!! I was advised there was no manager to speak with!

I found the perfect size for my needs. The monthly charge for my selected unit is extremely reasonable and fits my limited budget. This arrangement worked well for many years. Then about 8 months ago I began getting messages saying my payment was late and that late fees would be assessed. Then a month ago I was informed that the rent payment was so late that a lien would be placed on my unit. This was the final straw that made me decide to move my property to another storage facility. I don’t know if the USPS was the problem or whether my payments were received on time but not posted to my account so that late charges could be assessed. I moved to Lakeland 9 years ago so I wasn’t able to make my payments in person.
