When my husband was backing up our truck to connect to the 5X8 trailer we rented, a comment was made by the employee "that's a bit much don't you think". I had to explain that we have a Ford F250 to pull our fifth wheel. Sure a truck of that size is not needed for a small trailer, but what does it matter to him. That is the vehicle we own. That comment was unnecessary and should not have been said. I should not have to explain why we are using that truck or any vehicle for that matter. That is the only negative experience while renting this trailer. The process was smooth and seamless.XIOMARA A.
Everything was great. It's just when discussing insurance it makes it seem like the $14 covered more and the $28 covered collision. Meaning the whole truck was damaged. Even when we paid for the repair the cashier said that they're planning to change the wording for it to be more clear. It needs to be where there isn't loopholes so you know what happens with our without and better communication.KHALIL M.

I think your covid safety protocol is a bit much. How does using a box at tbe end of a stick to retrieve my driver license, then your employee picks up my license prevent transfer of germs. It doesn't. Thats my point your protocol is nonsensical and ineffective.JOHN K.

While the overall condition of the trailer was very good, it did have some lighting issues, especially the clearance lights being non-operational. Since I was not going to drive at night this was not a problem for me. Luis did an excellent job of hooking the trailer up and unhooking it when I returned it. He was knowledgeable and professional in getting me on the road. Well done Luis.CLAYTON B.

I rented a 6x12 enclosed trailer to move furniture But the drive was very scary the brake on trailer did not work great at all and in turned I ruined the front rotors Because of slowing down the car and the trailer not good at all now I need to buy brakes and rotors and see if it ruined the rear not happyPETER C.

Yes we hot there at Santa Maria, Ca location. There was a long wait due to employees barely getting there and moving slow. No courteous gestures were made to acknowledge the slowness of time to take care of your customers. Was great and clean and well maintained.RICHARD G.
The uhaul website frequently has difficulty supporting the upload of pictures for vehicle pick up/return (odometer, fuel, cleanliness, etc). Thankfully I was able to get ahold of customer service who recommended downloading the app. I think it's just faulty compatibility in mobile browsers.GRANT U.

The guy working in the morning was lazy. He didn't bother asking me exactly what type of vehicle I needed. He just assumed. He could not be bothered with showing me which vehicle it was once that was straightened out. I'm not in my 20's even my 40's. A little help would have been nice. The guy when I dropped off had to deal with how pissed off I was at the renting experience. I wish I was nicer. He remained kind as professional. I think it is a bit much to have a 'second contact' be made to be available for the rental. Then, after asking for a second contact, the UH representative immediately called the person who I gave as a contact person and asked them point-blank if it was ok they be used as a 2nd contact, without prefacing the call with any other info.MICHAEL G.
I was unable to rent a box trailer one way like I intended due to the fact I would have to drive 40 miles just to pick up the trailer and take it to my location so I can load it. My other option was to pick up the trailer in my hometown but I would have to bring the trailer back to that location. I did not want to haul an empty trailer all the way back home. In the past when I used U-Haul I never had an issue like this. I simply picked up what I needed in my hometown and dropped it off at my destination. Too bad it wasn't like that this time around. Next time I need to rent a trailer or truck I might have to think of an alternative. Too bad.Bernard R.
The girl that checked me in Cheyenne was very nice. She also checked me out. She did an awesome job. And answered all my questions. Out of all the employees at UHaul locations that I have used she she was the most informative & sounded like she knew what she was talking about & not talk to me like i was a child. I would definitely use this UHaul location again and request Cheyenne. I would also to say this was the cleanest UHaul location that I have used. If my family/friends need a moving vehicle. I would be happy to recommend this location.Philip H.

Interior of cab was dirty, a big concern of mine during COVID. Interior of windshield was so dirty that when I left in the morning (in the rain) I had to pull over and clean it with my mask, because it was the only thing I had on hand. I've been homeless for 6 months, just got an apartment for my daughter and I using your truck to move in. The truck we noticed made a crazy noise once we turned off, not much in power a jerking. When driving to take back on freeway from Grover Beach to Orcutt to return truck couldn't get power stayed at 55 on inclines, alarm for breaks kept going off, all while we're on phone to u-haul on hold forever due to fact I still need to put gas but WASNT sure if truck would even make it back to U-Haul.. left note on contract and was charged $98.00 and then another charge a week later at $129 for a one day use.. No I'm upset. Even spoke with U-Haul rep who called as I told him my experience with truck. I was charge for gas, was never even comp. in some discount due to truck performance and concerns if it broke down with me disabled and in pain from moving.LYNETTE M.
Truck pick up was smooth and efficient and the staff were very nice. After hours drop off was easy but then we were charged for an a extra day plus an after hours fee and had to call to fix that. The refund happened quickly so all ended well. Uhaul is a great deal for DIY movers.BARBARA B.

They rented trailer missing marker light ( right rear) but had problem letting me take the trailer because had a short in wires and running lights worked but brake didn't . Was simple fix as soon as got home Just small things but I refuse to pay what you're teyi g to charge me with out even calling me and saying a word if this is how you run a business then I'm going to really have a long job ahead and . This location was great. U-Haul corporate no so much. You should not advertise trucks at locations and provide an online reservation number when that location do not have trucks and then send your customer to another location. NOT GOOD.VAUGHAN H.
Rented a car trailer. The trailer brakes did not work properly. Every time I went to stop it felt like the trailer was going to come off the hitch. I called several times for roadside service and no one showed. I tried returning the trailer to a local dealership about 45 minutes from were I rented it and they would not take it. Had one of the employees from the Santa Maria dealership were I returned it con firm the brakes were faulty. I will never rent from U Haul again.JOSEPH L.

Overall, this location was fine. I have more issues with my overall UHaul experience. I reserved a UHaul well I'm advance. Uhaul had me running all over town to fulfill my rental request all because the person before me didn't drop their rental off in the location where I was to pick up the truck. Also, I requested a 15ft truck and all I could get was a 10 ft truck. I wish they would've suggested a trailer as well but I didn't think of that until later in the day. Then UHaul AGAIN had me running all over town the next day to pick up a trailer when the same thing happened, the person before me didn't drop off their rental when they were supposed to. I understand it's not UHaul's fault for customers not dropping off the equipment when they're supposed to, but I wish UHaul would've been more proactive about instead having me run around the whole town. They wasted my time and my 2-day moving plan turned into a 3-day moving experience all because UHaul wasn't proactive and had me running all over town looking for a truck and trailer.Veronica M.

Throughout the experience, uhaul was not adherent to the contract, provided inconsistent and/or inaccurate information when issues occurred, was not timely and was not accommodating. In addition, the wait times when attempting to resolve issues through customer service were unacceptable and there was a general impression from many staff members of "not my problem" or "deal with it." In addition, staff failed to close out the contract leading to additional erroneous charges to my account but somehow closed out the complaint I filed prior to any disposition. Overall, I was not satisfied with the experience on any level and will not use this company in the future or recommend it to others. While these are strange times and I tried to be flexible due to this, there was not one aspect of this process that uhaul was in charge of that did not have problems.Briahnne M.
