I recently rented a cargo van from your abercorn st store in Savannah ga and everything was going well until it wasn't . the manager from this location I believe her name was Raven.. she was very rude and judgemental and didn't mind letting me know if her opinion of me . I tried extending my rental like I had done the past couple days because my apartment was ready for me to move into yet and being my license said I was a resident of ludowici ga she wouldn't let me extend it said that I was a risk that she wasnt willing to take being I'm from a different state well first off ludowici is in ga so I don't know how that was even a comment but she refused to let me extend the rental and I had to go rent a storage unit because of it . it cost me 250$ plus 1st month of 190$ all for two days before I can move in .. all based on her opinion of me I feel disrespected and offended. and now on top of your rental fees and the deposit and start up for the unit this cost me so much money I'm angry because I am not very wealthy i struggle with everyday finances already I didn't need this bill I'm a single mother with 4 kids the father recently past away that's why I'm moving to Savannah for my new start at life and your manager cost my home 340$ I wasn't planning on losing this month and with 4 kids and one income isn't easy .. I'm not asking for a refund or discount but something should definitely take place for this so called manager and her personal opinions! I will not be recommending anyone to this location at all very unprofessional and a joke .. thank you and have a blessed day

Im very disappointed. Ive rented from this location many times and this last time .. like every other time.. I was under the impression that we had a full day to return the van. However 15mins before I was about to walk down the aisle of my wedding I kept getting back to back calls. I finally answered because I thought there was an emergency..... The person on the line had an attitude and zero compassion that I was minutes from walking to my WEDDING. And that we would be dropping the van off after the reception.

The installation of my tow hitch took the entire day 0800-1800, and I had been told it would take 2 hours and stayed on site the entire time. My car is a Porsche Cayenne and I suspect it was the first your installer had done. He was trying very hard but it was hard for one man to do it evidently. The installer was very pleasant and friendly and suggested I receive the installation charge as a refund, but I didn't want him to have to pay for it. I prefer your location for all my rentals and will continue.

I droped the tow dolly off on the 7th of dec. 2025. i received a call on dec. 8th asking for the tow dolly to be returned. when in fact , it had already been returned the day before. Originally had rented a U-Haul at the Ogeechee location 3 weeks prior to pickup & was sent a email the next day of a “change in contract”.
My mistake was that I didn’t read the email. The original (Ogeechee) decided to send me to a different pick up location. I didn’t know until I went there to pick the truck up.
Maybe send out emails where the customer MUST confirm any changes made BEFORE you make the change. I was under the impression that when you choose a pick up location, the size U-Haul you ask for is brought to the location of your choice. I was disappointed~especially because it was pouring rain & rush hour traffic.

Have more pickup trucks in your fleet move to the 3802 ogeechee Rd location. We shouldn't have to go far away an pay more in mileage. Because you don't have the equipment that's reserved at the location request. Then on the other hand you guys wouldn't even bring it to the location when the truck was scheduled and reserved in advance.

Very nice equipment, I drove a 26 foot van for 2100 miles towing my car behind on a car trailer, the truck was powerful and did not bog down on those long west Texas and Arizona pulls, it rode a lot smoother than I expected, everything on the truck and trailer functioned well. I averaged 6.6 MPG caring all my personal goods. I highly recommend U haul for cross country moves, I saved over $10,000. moving everything myself.

When I returned my truck the employee had the scan gun marked for a location 300 miles away. Doing this made it look like I returned the truck to the wrong location. Not U-Haul's fault that the area around the Abercorn location is just a little run-down.
I made a reservation for my equipment to be picked up at a 17 South U-Haul location (3802 Ogeechee Rd, Savannah, GA) but the day before I was scheduled to pick up my equipment, I received a confirmation phone call/voicemail from a U-Haul rep. I just happen to catch that the rep mentioned she was from the Abercorn location. So I called back the number several times but was never able to get anybody at the Abercorn location on the phone so I connected up to the central office. The rep I talked with there confirmed indeed my pick up location had been changed to Abercorn. Since nothing could be done to change that, I was stuck going to the Abercorn U-Haul location and forced to fight my way out of Savannah in late afternoon/early evening traffic, exactly what I had tried to avoid.
The counter rep at the Abercorn location the evening of TUE, 14 OCT was outstanding! She was juggling two to three customers at once and made everything run efficient, smooth, and fast. Amazing the way she managed the multi-tasking of different customers and orders.

Well, because of the moisture and water leaking into my unit all of my personal items were destroyed due to mold and water bugs and spiders. It damaged my bedroom set my mattresses my living room set and my shelvings. We did speak to a manager about filing a claim for replacement. We will have to rebuy items to replace damaged property that was left under the care of U-Haul in the storage units. Thxu

A couple of our items in climate-controlled storage were damaged by excessive heat. Temperature levels inside the facility were regularly over the threshold when we accessed our unit, especially in the summer and early fall seasons. The building itself is secure but was constantly in need of repair and maintenance. All of these factors, combined with the inconvenient location, eventually led us to find another storage solution in the area.

I originally made reservations with the Ogeechee location and they completely almost ruined my moving experience with their lack of customer service and police threats because of mistakes made on their behalf however at the Abercorn store Mr Corey and his staff provided exceptional first resolution service and got everything resolved for me instantly I truly appreciate Mr Corey and the Abercorn store location. We had a storage unit booked at a different U-Haul location but they had given it away. When we arrived they sent us to Corey’s U-Haul store. He and his staff are simply awesome. They worked through the issue and found us a unit similar to the one we had originally booked. The facility is clean, al the atmosphere is friendly. The culture of this store is fantastic, way better than many other U-Haul locations I have been to. This store should be your gold standard.

I did not have access to my unit for at least 15-20 days due to it being blocked by the company. When I finally did get my things out there were dropping and bugs in my furniture so I ended up having to get rid of most of my things. I was not compensated in any way for the time I did not have access to my unit. There was a point where they put a lock on my unit because I missed a payment due to changing cards and not updating it. I made the payment and called to request the lock be removed. They said they’d remove it within 24 hours. I drove an hour and a half after 48 hours and ended up having to cut the lock myself. One of the young ladies in the office was rude when I asked her who I needed to contact about the inconvenience. I will never use U-Haul for storage again. Worst experience ever hands down.

Stop always changing the price every 2 months, dead and alive animals in the unit. Give back the rest of the money what you owe because it wasn't a month before the person move out just a week. I can't say it was good because it wasn't, the prices isn't right at all.

At the end of the day all employees are not trained for storage rentals so it causes long lines waiting on a specific person. There are times the cards they give us to swipe in and out don’t work and yet again we have to wait long periods of time for something so simple. Uhaul also had never resolved an issue with a truck rental back in July of 2022, this shows how effective their customer service is.

I was not made aware that the storage unit was on the second floor until I arrived with the belongings that were being placed in storage. I probably would have looked to another facility if I had known before hand. Carrying heavy boxes and furniture upstairs was a bit much for a septagenarian.

I came in on July 5th and told the staff I was closing my storage rental. I gave a move out date of July 13, 2022. I was told I would not be charged for the entire month of July 2022. I was told Ill be charged for the 13th only, just 1 day pass my payment due date. I was charged for the entire month of July 2022. The staff also closed my account on July 14, 2022 instead of July 13, 2022, the day I left the storage.

Things had been fine, or so we thought, until we returned to clean out our unit #221 on 10/11/21. We opened the door and discovered water damage in the unit and a large box of personal clothing was damaged from laying in the water for who knows how long. I took pictures of the unit and there was white duct tape over this area, so that tells me there most likely had been water leaking previously, yet U-Haul rents the unit again w/o repairing the leak issue (taping it is like only putting a bandaid on it).
We did not purchase insurance on this unit, didn’t believe we needed to, if you take proper care of your facility. Obviously you don’t and I expect to be properly compensated for the cleaning of the clothes with hopes of getting the musty/moldy smell out.
I expect to be notified from U-Haul within the next couple days- if not, I will be following up myself.

I need someone from corporate to contact me ASAP. My unit was auctioned off and I was given the incorrect date. My brother who passed away three years ago had all of his items there and it was auctioned off at $163.00. I am really heart broken and have not been showed any form of sympathy. Nor have I been contacted by the General Manager Chris Spears. Lakia has been an angel in trying to assist me but I still do not understand why I was given the incorrect date for such a time sensitive matter.

I have pictures of the unit ceiling falling in and mold everywhere from the hot and cold weather causing moisture in a closed in unit. The weeds from outside began growing on the inside through the back of the storage unit. I had rat feces everywhere. I tried to donate much as I could of furniture items to Goodwill. I refused to take any of it into my brand new home. Everything else was packed and tossed in the trash. I can’t believe I was paying for almost 4 years to throw everything away. It was horrible. The Uhaul truck was the only thing that was great. It didn’t breakdown this time on me. I wish I could submit these pictures to show other customers. I paid on the 30th of every month which included late fees since my unit was due on the 12th of every month. I paid for Uhaul to deliver horrible services every month to me. I recommend Uhaul to upgrade the whole structure and treat customers items as they would treat their own.

I was offered a month storage for free with my one way truck rental. I accepted the offer, completed the online move in process at which point I was informed everything was all set to move in. I even called the facility to ensure that if I were not available to move into the unit that my representative could do so if I had completed the online process. I work as a front line healthcare provider and had to work so asked my wife to move the contents into the unit. I gave her all the details to do so, including a screen shot of my confirmation. At the facility, the buildings were very poorly marked and when she asked the employee where the unit was, she was informed that the employee could not give her any information because the unit was not in her name. When my wife finally located the unit, with no help from staff, the codes we were given for access did not work. As I was trying to care for my patients, I was also having to try to handle this chaos over the phone with my wife. Finally, my wife forced to go back to the employee and demand assistance to access the unit. Ultimately, locating and accessing the unit took twice as long as actually moving in the contents.
As an extra bonus, to complete the online move in process to the unit, I had to pay 99.95 even though it was supposed to be free for month.
I called the location 3/25/2021 to request a refund of the 99.95. The automated system informed me it would be a 20 minute wait for a representative. After nearly 39 minutes someone came on the line. I explained the pricing issue and was told that someone from that location would call me that day. Needless to say, it is 3/29/2021 and I have still not received a call. I am currently waiting on the phone (23 minutes so far) to try to get this resolved.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with the entire process and would appreciate contact from someone who can help me. You guys make a point to mention on the automated phone system that calls are recorded to help keep your promises made to your customers. I would like to see proof of that.

Uhaul trailer stolen, Uhaul no communication, continued to charge daily rate even though reported stolen and I had trailer insurance. To date, had to cancel card, they took over $200 unauthorized and refused to discuss or return telephone calls.

I had a person to quote Catherine storage rate to as first month free and 100.00 dollars a month. When I found out later it was not quoted correctly. The manager adjusted the late charge and the first months rent. She could not change the rate but I appreciated her trying.

Bedbugs on uhaul truck and unit that got into my brand new furniture and our home on base causing us to throw out all our furniture . Staff had I don't care attitude and told my husband they didn't have bedbugs. I am in the military and I trusted

Unprofessional manager provoked an argument and ultimately called the police after she made a threat to me, the customer. After renting a truck in another state, traveling for 2 days, and arriving expecting to check in with 0 issues this was the last thing that need to happen. U-Haul’s system messed up my storage reservation and instead of leading with an explanation, she lead with attitude that was met with attitude. Aside from that, the other staff was super professional, especially Travis, who was actually able to articulate professionally all details about my unit check in process..
